I moved to Maui 7 months ago and have been coming to this little gem since I discovered it after a day at 505 beach. I was becoming discouraged with the lack of healthy food options in Lahaina and the outrageous restaurant prices, so I was more than stoked to find Bamboo Fresh! Michelle(the lovely and helpful owner) uses all fresh, whole food ingredients. I try to be very conscious of what I put into my body, so of course I had questions for her. She gave me the run down on her labor of love. From healthy smoothies to organic veggie loaded sandwiches and salads, you never have to question if any of her ingredients are good for you. I can assure you this place will satisfy your hunger and your soul without emptying your pocket book

After a few days of eating out at every meal, I was feeling heavy, bloated and uncomfortable. I just wanted something green! I had bookmarked Bamboo Fresh as a healthy option for a breakfast smoothie or lunch and we just so happened to be in the area one day and made the walk down Front St to Bamboo Fresh. I will say, if it’s especially hot in Lahaina, it is a bit of a walk from the main hub of Front Street stores if you decide to hoof it. Parking is plentiful this far south, so don’t worry about that, it’s worth the trip down! Salads, wraps and bowls are all made to order, with the freshest ingredients and no upcharge for swapping between either of these options which I loved. We had the Tofu & Spice wrap and the DJ John Bowl. Feedback on the DJ John Bowl«I loved everything about my bowl, EVERYTHING», so there’s that. On the Tofu & Spice wrap, they had just run out of tofu and subbed a veggie patty in its place — it was deeeelicious. Also, I have to say that Molokai sweet potatoes are amazing, every time I was lucky enough to bite into one it was like winning the jackpot. We only made it here once for lunch but I will keep this on my list for any future trips to Maui. Such a great environment, with healthy and delicious lunch options only steps from the sand! Easiest 5 stars ever.

Michelle and Sean took great care of us! Super good vibes when you walk in. You can really tell Michelle cares about her business. Everything is fresh and locally sourced. Everything is delicious. I got the kalua pork wrap and it was . It’s a hidden gem inside the The Shops @ 505. Great stop for fresh, delicious food!

Had lunch here today and it was the best meal yet since we arrived 3 days ago! I had the pork in a rice bowl and my wife had chcken in a wrap. Both were outstanding and incredibly healthy and fresh. A few reviews are sour about the service. It is Maui for starters. Plus this type of food isn’t meant for an assembly line. If you are in a hurry consider somewhere else. But if you plan ahead you will be thankful! When we were walking in we met two groups of customers who said it was some of the most amazing food they had eaten. Agreed! We will be back before going home.

My mom and I were looking for a healthy place to eat. We found Bamboo fresh from Unilocal and it exceeded our expectations! I ordered a Momma’s Garden and my mom Rosemary’s Blue Sage. We had them both as salads. The vegetables were fresh, meat juicy and cooked to perfection in a crock pot. Even the goat cheese tasted fresh! The owner was delightful and even made our food! It is the ideal local, organic & sustainable restaurant. I will be coming back!

Super yummy fresh food and drinks! Loved the fresh coconut water they get from coconuts right in front of you. I had the tofu wrap but subbed it with the superfood patti that was delicious. Friendly service and the prices are tax included so you don’t have to worry about change. Super cute place, loved it!

Who says you can’t eat healthy and something great tasting while on Vacation? I was skeptical of this place at first, but with my family we agreed that we had had our fill of local island food that is delicious but not light. We looked for something that utilized local ingredients and was healthy and we found the place! This place is located on front street towards the south end of the busy section of Front street. We found free street parking. The restaurant itself is located in an area with multiple stores. We arrived around 11:20 and the person working there(who as the only person) said she needed 5 more minutes, even though the opening time said 11 on Unilocal. We walked around the shopping area for a few minutes(boring not much there) and came back and they were open. The place specializes in organic, local produce, and fresh smoothies(7.50, expensive!). We tried the Mama’s garden wrap(12.00) which was local greens, avacado, 3 cheese spread, goat cheese, purple yam, vinaigrette, and other stuff I probably forgot. As someone who really likes meat, I was skeptical, however this was actually quite delicious and refreshing. I would definitely recommend getting this. They do have other wraps with meat such as a kalua pork wrap and a lemon chicken wrap. No seafood. I saw someone else order a fresh fruit smoothie which included a TON of fresh local fruit and looked really great, 7.50 seems expensive but I might try it if I come back. My only complaint is that the person working their seemed over worked and was not the friendliest, although I don’t blame her because its hard to attend to so many customers being the only one Tips — Free street parking for 3 hours if you can find it, easily walkable to banyan tree park, and the hustle/bustle of front street — local, fresh, organic ingredients! — be patient, only one person working here the day I came but its worth the wait!

Unique smoothie — only fruit and coconut water. Not nearly as sweet as you usually get — all whole foods and unprocessed. We got the Da green pig and it was fantastic. A great mix of greens and some local pork. The flavors blended well and I would definitely get it again. My first time with Maui coffee. It was not as bold as I usually get, but was a nice match to the atmosphere and vibe of this place. This was a great stop on the way to our rental after leaving the airport. I feel much more refreshed than when I got here.

Okay, so I was told that when on vacation you shouldn’t even bother eating healthy. that’s what all the other days are for… lol! Well, for me, my body gets totally thrown off track if too much junkiness gets put in it so Bamboo Fresh Café was a nice way to jump start the body. If you’re looking for a place that leaves you feeling satisfied after a meal, but doesn’t leave you feeling like you’ll be faceplanting the ground to get through the rest of your day, then this is the place for you. Everything is made fresh here. Expect lots of veggies, whole grains, fruits… all the things that are good for your body. With that being said, everyone knows that fresh = wait time and more money… hence the reason why many people go with the easier and faster options. But you only get one body so you need to treat it right! There were only 2 ladies working here when we arrived. One seemed like the owner who was very friendly and helpful to us newbies. The other one seemed new and still learning the ropes. The main items they serve here are wraps(ranging from $ 11 — $ 12 each) and smoothies(about $ 8). The wraps can also be turned into a salad or rice bowl(made of quinoa) for no extra charge. Those sounded like yummy options as well, but I was craving a wrap from the day before, so that was my way to go. I was impressed with my Tofu and Spice wrap. The wraps are HUGE! They are loaded with all kinds of veggies. Definitely leaves you feeling full, but not bloated. I also wanted a smoothie, so I asked what was popular. The girl was in the process of making a green smoothie and offered me a sample to taste. It was a bit too green for me, so I asked what other options were good choices. It was suggested that I go with ‘The Mermaid’ which was a fruity concoction of papaya, lilikoi, coconut, and other kinds of fruits. The girl didn’t know how to make it, so the owner took her through the steps. All of their smoothies are made with coconut water. My first sip was a bit slushy, so I asked if banana could be added to make it thicker. It did become thicker, but I still wasn’t a big fan of the taste. I think I may not be a fan of lilikoi. It might have been nice to have a sign of the different types of combinations that would go together… just as they do for the wraps. Although the owner was friendly, I think the service here needs to be worked on a bit. I asked for water twice and never received it. When we were finished, only the new girl was around and seemed too busy to notice that we were finished. We asked her if we should leave our empty plates by the smoothie counter and she said, «sure, you can leave it there.» There doesn’t seem to be a system in place for that. On the wall, I noticed 2 letters of recognition that they received from Unilocal and Trip Advisor. Both commented on how people give them high ratings. I would agree that they do deserve high ratings even for the minor problems that we experienced. Overall, it was a nice little establishment that I’m glad I found and never would have found if it hadn’t been for Unilocal! Tips: 1. Park in the beach lot around the corner from the little shopping complex that Bamboo Fresh is located in. The signs say you can park in there for 3 hours. 2. There’s no restroom in Bamboo Fresh. However, if you ask the workers, they’ll tell you to go to the restaurant to the right as you exit Bamboo Fresh. They said the restaurant is really cool about letting their customers use their restrooms.

When in Lahaina, Maui, and you are feeling some healthy eating, come here. They use local fruit and vegetables, healthy spices, and lots of love when making their food. This is not a corporate chain. Owned by a local woman named Michelle. She busts her ass running this place. When dining here, I recommend the following. For breakfast, start off the day with a LifeForce smoothie. Made with kale, mint, coconut water, superfood, and local fruit in season. Will set you back $ 8.00. For lunch, try the Lemon Pepper Chic-King as a salad. This salad is satiating. Comes local veggies, cilantro-lemon-pepper organic chicken, jalapenos, parmesan cheese, croutons, and caesar dressing. When I order it, I skip the croutons and cheese, and request pele peppers over the jalapeños. This sexy goodness runs you $ 12.00.

A great place to get a healthy tasty lunch on the West Side of Maui in Lahaina. They have wonderful choices that include meat, veggies, grains, avo and wonderful flavors. Had a chicken bowl today that was the bomb. Gave me the energy I needed to go out and swim and snorkel. The owner Michelle and her crew do a great job of sourcing local foods and keeping it sustainable. Very cool peeps. You can get wraps, bowls, plates, smoothies… all da kine. Next time you are in Lahaina check them out. They will customize if you need and talk about their food.

Yum yum yum. The food here is amazing, healthy and fresh. Our table had the lemon pepper chic-king salad, da green pig wrap, quinoa bowl with DJ john ingredients and a bagel. Food was nothing short of fabulous. Portion sizes are big except the bagel which is normal size. We also ordered smoothies that are coconut water based. The smoothies alone could be a whole meal and tasted wonderful. The only setback if any is that it takes a while to get your food because everything is made to order– a small and necessary issue if you want fresh food.

Eh. When we ordered the food the lady was rude. I asked a question and she slammed her hands down on counter in frustration. She wanted to take our order, no questions asked. Food is quality and the wraps were good. …but the rice bowl was not tasty at all. My child asked if it was ‘cow rice’.(Enough said.). We returned it. They didn’t give us money back. Oh well… We won’t be back.

This is on my list of places to return to try more of their menu. I love that almost 90% of their food comes from Maui. They support the island and local farmers and vendors. They offer a health conscious menu including fresh coconut water, life burgers(love these!), wraps and sandwiches. They have wifi, friendly staff and a comfortable place to enjoy your food. I just ordered coconut water and they gave me a chilled glass. It was so refreshing after a hot, long walk. Come in a check them out for some local, tasty grinds served with aloha.

There was only one person working when we came for lunch. She explained that the owner had gone out and was overwhelmed managing the place alone. I didn’t feel I could ask about the smoothies because she looked hurried and flustered the whole time. We waited 45 minutes for a wrap and a bagel. They were both delicious, but we were so hungry by then that anything would’ve been good. A few people walked in later and she turned them away saying there would be a long wait, that they were out of several ingredients, and out of all dressings. We weren’t offered a glass for water until we were finishing our meal(the owner had finally arrived and together they picked up the pace a bit). I’d be willing to give this place another try some day, but we were disappointed with our experience today.

I had the smoothie with kale, mint, fresh fruit(owner said over 9 different locally grown fruits), ginger, honey, and superfoods. Let me tell you this was one of the best smoothies I’ve ever had and it was all locally grown! The owner as well as the staff were so friendly. This local shop is a must have if you’re looking for delicious, all natural, locally grown food for lunch. I highly recommend stopping in and grabbing a bite to eat or drink. The atmosphere of the restaurant is exactly was I was looking for– chalkboard menu, small local place, not overly touristy. The owner was behind the bar chopping up fresh ingredients and there was even a little home oven where you can watch your food being made.

I’d give it 4 stars for quality, however, I’m a very impatient person – and 7 minutes is a long time to wait for a smoothie, in my opinion. I don’t think there should ever be a time when I’m thinking of offering them my help to complete my order. I did appreciate that the employee insisted I add a banana to my smoothie for texture reasons. No regrets there. I’m sure I’d be a lot more impressed if I’d gotten food. Maybe next time, if I’m full enough to wait for them to grow my veggies, harvest, clean and prepare it, I’ll order a salad.

We stopped here for a bite to eat after a long morning of ziplining. We were starving! Michelle is the owner here and her and one other gal were working and there was luckily no one else in the restaurant. There is only one table for seating and it seats 4 people. We grabbed that table quick! The menu is small, with less than 10 items to choose from, so that makes it really easy to place an order. This ain’t no BJ’s! I’m vegetarian so I had the tofu n spice wrap. OMG it was so flavorful, fresh, and ultra nutritious. Oh and it was also really pretty and colorful! Delicious and energizing and will come back next time we are in Maui!
