Overpriced, small portions, unfriendly vibe. Poo poo for café café. We had a horrible experience here. First of all, the place is a café and also rents mopeds; this is a cool concept, but in too small of a space. Also the same people that are taking your order are renting the mopeds. I feel like food is clean work and mopeds are dirty work and the two should not share a space. They do not have a full kitchen, it is more like a kitchenette. There were 2 older ladies working and one younger one. There was one customer at the register and a man in front of us. He actually left before ordering. As we waited in line we looked at the menu, we both commented that the prices were high, but I had wanted to eat here because I liked the options and I read they they get their food from Mana. The older lady that took our order seemed too bothered to help us. She was busy literally looking over us to watch a customer who was interested in the mopeds, then before greeting is she yelled at a coworker to go help the customer with the mopeds. Finally when we ordered she still didn’t give us a welcome feeling. We placed our order. One of ordered the acai superfood bowl. It was tiny compared to the one I had at Choice the other day. This one was also 2 – 3 $ more. It was mostly granola and not a lot of smoothie. Also the smoothie was not fully blended. There were still spinach leaves in the smoothie. We also ordered the vegetable aloha plate. It was tiny for the price. It came with eggs, bread and a piece of lettuce, a slice of tomato, and 2 small slices of avocado. The eggs were fine, but wet because they steam scramble them. It turned out that the warm bread was still frozen in the middle. When I brought my plate up to the younger girl(she was preparing most of the food) she took it off of my plate and put it in the toaster. Her hands were gloved and she had just finished cleaning something out of the sink. So now I was expected to eat the reheated bread after she touched it with her dirty sink gloved hand. Nope. Gross. We left feeling very disappointed. I did read the other Unilocal reviews, many were positive. It seems like you have to catch this place on a good day. Good luck.

Make sure you ask for two shots in your coffee or else you will just pay 5 dollars for 1 shot and milk ! Oh and mine didn’t even have the«coffee ice cubes».

it was only 5:40pm. And they asked us to move outside while we’re still eating, they said they’ve to sweep the floor. and banging chairs and table around while customers are still around and eating or drinking. The food and drinks are good, worth 4 – 5 stars. But that kind of attitude is just not acceptable, don’t they know the basic courtesy? wow, I mean wow, they must had a really bad day the day we visited them. It’s just unbelievable in place like Maui.

I discovered this little café about 6 months ago when I took a trip to Lahaina with my mother in law and I liked it a lot. I went back again last month with my girlfriend and we got a croissant sandwich w/bacon, egg & cheese and a latte and it was delicious! The only complaint I really have is the croissant didn’t taste as fresh as the first time. The latte was great, and the staff were extremely friendly. I definitely want to go back and rent one of their scooter’s!

I wish we had discovered this place in our first day, but I’m very glad we found it before the last. The iced coffee rocks! They make the ice cubes from coffee so I your drink doesn’t get watered down. They have a number of different sweeteners including agave syrup and palm sugar as well as the usual suspects. The ladies are very nice and remembered us from the day before. You can also rent a Vespa if you are so inclined.

Great vibe with the best coffee on the island! The lox bagel is my favorite on the menu.

Super friendly and down to earth people. Who ever comes up with their concepts is insightful and ahead of their time. I loved that they have coffee ice cubes for their iced coffee, a few different types of raw sugars and organic half and half. The Café Café’s general presentation style is also both welcoming and professional. Oh and they have delicious coffee from local grown beans!

Love this little hole in the wall café. I go every Sunday for a latte and acai bowl. It’s become one of our favorite hidden gems in Lahaina. I also like to pick up bags of Pavel’s special blend coffee to send to friends and family as gifts.

If you’re a fan of lighter roasts and complex flavors in your coffee, café café is probably your best bet in Maui. They have a couple of nice drip coffees that are pretty good. I also got a decaf ice latte which had good flavor in it as well. I liked the lox bagel with capers, cream cheese(?), cucumbers and sprout. A nice balance of flavors but a little difficult to eat as the toppings wanted to fall off. Delicious though. We will probably be coming here pretty often for our breakfast and coffee needs!

Café café is the best coffee place on Maui and is just off the main drag in Lahaina. The owners Pavel’s and Heather are great. The baristas are friendly, polite, and awesome(Megan, Monica, and Britney)! Megan makes a very tasty Tuna sandwich! They also sell coffee beans, and other products, but if you’re looking to rent scooter… they do that too! This is the place to come for your caffeine fix!

We decided to try this place based on the Unilocal reviews. It was perfectly serviceable, I had the Local eggs, which came with ham and toast. The eggs were steamed, which was ok, the veggies were ok, the toast was really good. Hubby had the Local bagel, toasted with cream cheese, ham, cheese(processed cheese slice) and tomato and sprouts. The prices on the menu linked on Unilocal are wrong, prices are $ 1-$ 3 more per item now. The folks who seemed to own/manage this place didn’t thank us for our business or the fact that we bussed our own table, struck me as kind of rude.

Great Acai superfood bowl. Yes I said an Acai bowl in Hi who would think but very tasty never had the goji berry they were good. Split a veggie style bagel with my hubby and it was so good. We thought we ordered too much food but ate every bite I didn’t even wait to take the picture the coffee is strong but very good.

I probably ate $ 100 worth of acai bowls while I was in hawaii. The one at café café was probably the smallest, the most expensive, and the worst. Even at the worst, I still liked the acai bowl. However, I’d highly recommend you get these elsewhere. :)

Fresh food with a fresh atmosphere. They’re big on sustainability if that’s your thing. It made for a nice light lunch when we knew we had heavier dinner plans that night. I’d say it’s more $$ than $ though, considering the amount of food you get for the $. It was too hot to try the coffee but it certainly looked and smelled good. Their smoothies were a little more juice than fruit and weren’t as tasty as the food. I certainly wouldn’t go back for them. Overall it’s an interesting place with a a good, kitschy atmosphere. I’d say 4.5 stars for the food and 3 for the smoothies.

This café was a great find, just off Front St., tucked in on a side street. I originally came in search of a smoothie and now I’ve been back several times. They have a great menu if you’re looking for coffee, smoothie, a light lunch or a snack. I’ve had several smoothies which are made fresh to order. They have great options that you can customize a little. I’ve also had an acai bowl here a few times which I absolutely love. The superfoods bowl is my fav! For coffee, I believe their beans are local(from Hawaii). I usually stick with a cold brew that comes with coffee ice cubes. They do have many options for speciality coffee drinks, both hot and cold. They are open air so sometimes it gets kinda warm. But generally between the winds and breeze from fans it’s pretty comfortable in the shade. They do offer wifi, if you ask. Most of the time the service is friendly, but sometimes the aloha vibe is missing. However, I’ve always had stellar coffee and smoothies/bowls so that’s what keeps me coming back. They also rent Vespa scooters. I see a lot of people come in specifically for this. But I don’t know anything about it.

We walked by Café Café countless times. It’s deceptive. The deception is owed to the Vespas parked in front that’s for rent. It’s the same place if you’re looking to rent Vespas. There is a beautiful Harley that’s for sale as well. Open, airy, cool music. Awesome staff. Great Acai bowl. I had the Acai Superfoods Bowl which is vegan friendly. It’s super thick smoothie of acai, blueberries, strawberry, kale, spinach, banana and coconut water, topped with granola and sliced bananas, papaya and Gojie berries served in a bowl. $ 8.75. You can add vegan raw, superfood greens Powder or Protein Powder for $ 1.50. We noticed that they served our food in paper plates and plastic containers. Curious minds tend to ask and the answer was simple. It’s simple economics. The rule makers wanted an oil catcher that cost $ 30,000 installed if you’re washing dishes. Self explanatory. I get it. There’s plenty to eat and drink here. Bagels, croissant, eggs and greens and grains bowl. Fresh fruit and superfood smoothies. Two female servers that are warm and friendly. Fast service. Local customers mostly and occasional tourist from Front street which is just a few feet away.

Café Café is located right off the Front Street and offers a local feel like no other. The inside is very relaxing, open air that flows right into the patio seating through the French doors. Even though open to the outside, the air conditioning provides enough cooling assisted by fans and ocean breeze. The staff is very friendly and pleasant. The customers tend to be locals, which adds to the island feel. The places focuses on healthy and quality ingredients including Acai bowls and variety of other fruit bowls and smoothies. If you prefer something with eggs, they offer croissants, bagels and organic scrambled egg plates using organic eggs. I had the Bacon, Egg and American Cheese Croissant. It was delicious with the bacon being crisp and eggs being fluffy. The melted cheese finished it all off. The only thing that could be improved is the plating, being paper, wish it matched the ceramic glassware that beverages are served in. However, talking to the staff, they were forced to switch from ceramic plates to paper, as they do not have a grease catcher installed, which is very expensive and required by law. Since they don’t serve high quantity of food this makes no sense and only created more trash. The coffee products are award winning and very delicious. I had my usual Americano, which was made using the Award Winning Maui Red Catuai. It’s a dark roast that has a lovely balanced robustness; even my Americano had a nice crema, indicating perfection. This bean was award a Top Finalist Award at the 2014 Hawaii Annual Coffee Cupping Competition. Enough said… They also rent Vespas and scooters that you can ride into the sunset with!

This is the real deal. Fresh roasted local coffee with pour over available. I had the Maui Mokka«Whales Tales» and the Maui Red Catuai«King K’s Kope Roast» both of which are local award winning roasts. Very impressive and I recommend trying both with a pour over brew. They have a strong focus on fresh/raw food. I only tried the coffee. You can join their coffee club. They roast twice a week. If I were to open a coffee shop it would look a lot like this one.

Amazing. So healthy and delish! This is an excellent addition to Front Street eating. Menu is healthy with great coffee/latte and smoothie options(think shots of wheat germ and antioxidants). Fresh local ingredients in small open air café. Seating inside and out with free wifi. The kind of place that evokes a «I can’t wait to come back and try… xxx» after you take your first bite. Simple appearing food with complex flavors that will knock your socks off. Unassuming looking place but worth the block off Front street without a doubt!
