Definitely recommend if you are looking for Hawaii souvenirs that were not made in China or tacky. The owner visits tons of places and works with local artisans to make items for the shop that represent Hawaii. It was a ton of fun looking at everything and neat personal touch with the family photos. It shows the owner and her family put a lot of thought and effort into the items she sells and don’t just pick random things from a catalog. The items were also very well priced. Someday when we have a beach house I am definitely coming here for help decorating!

This place is a hidden gem! It’s located inside the Lahaina Cannery Mall and if you’ve been to Maui, it’s, um, kinda dead. BUT Banana Wind has such unique items that are great for souvenirs and gifts. Skip the ABC store and just come here. Super cute, unique items from all over the world but many that are South Pacific inspired. I bought a few thumb harps and a banana leaf platter. There were so many other cute things. I just couldn’t figure out how to pack them back home. They’re supposed to be moving to Paia towards the end of 2015. When I’m back in Maui, I’ll definitely find them wherever they are.

so this place has some souvenirs you may not find anywhere else. The prices seem ok. I felt the kitsch descriptions of the products and all the family pics were a distraction, perhaps someone else would find that an attraction.

If you are looking for shell or coral souvenirs this store has good prices. Nice horn and shell bowls and serving-ware. Pleasant store. Mainland shipping available.

It’s surprisingly well-priced, and they offer shipping to the mainland. It’s filled with cute items, and even has a few tiki-themed things, too. A must-stop if you’re interested in island-style, beach-ish décor.

We went here due to super enthusiastic Unilocalers and I wasn’t disappointed. Great place for browsing — or beachcombing! It’s designed for wandering and discovery. Love how they tell their family adventure story, and the stories of the makers of the many objects. I was very tempted by the lovely thick bamboo towels and the invitation to assemble a shadowbox of mementos.

We stumbled upon Banana Wind when exploring the Lahaina Cannery Mall(don’t hold your breath, there’s not much to explore). This shop however had great, high quality, and affordable souvenirs. I was able to snag some gifts for family friends and even for myself! Banana Wind is a great stop if you need some Maui mementos!

Literally the only place worth stopping in the Lahaina Cannery Mall. Really impressive assortment of goods from around the world. A few Hawaiian made things, but not much. If I lived in Maui I would totally shop here for my home décor and housewares. Check it out if you are in the area.

If you are looking for the best shop on the West Side, or Maui for that fact then you must visit Banana Wind in the Cannery Mall right off the Hwy 30 in Lahaina. This is no tacky, everything says ‘Maui’ kind of shop. A local family owns and operates this awesome shop. The story goes like this… Mom, Dad and 2 kids– Zeb and Marley travel the South Pacific, Indo China, and beyond working with local families to create one of a kind items to bring back to Maui and offer to everyone. You will find unique items like hand carved tiki’s, lotions and soaps, recycled glass pieces, oh… and they have the largest sea shell collection for sale in the Hawaiian islands. Now that is big. This is home accents meets body shop meets sea shell store that you all must see. Prices are fair for what you will find here. I love this place so much that I moved to Maui and now work here. Not a day doesn’t go by when people say ’ I just love this store, it is the Best and I come here every time I visit Maui.’ Locals love it to. You will enjoy hearing tunes from the Putumayo music collection roaming through the 8+ Banana Trees shopping in this lovely shop. Say hi to Nina while you are there.

This is one of my favorite stores in Lahaina. It is located in the Lahaina Cannery Mall near the entrance by the Starbucks. They have high end decorations for the house along with jewelry. You can find gifts that a not tacky like the ABC Store stuff. I bought some bamboo trays here. They also have these adorable drawer pulls in Hawaii themes that I want to buy for my bathroom. It is a bit more expensive but the owners are very nice and the selection is huge. I bought a few things to take home with me on my last trip to Hawaii and there were some things I did not buy since I did not have room. The owner gave me a business card and said they sell items online and will ship to the mainland.

I LOVE this store. If you are vacationing, honeymooning, or just stopping by Lahaina Cannery Mall, you’ll want to visit Banana Wind. Sure, the name sounds downright silly … but their product line is anything but. The store is filled with tons of home décor, tableware, and local artisan goodies — all with a tropical vibe. The owners and buyers of the store have a great eye for presentation, and for unique products with that special«aloha». Nothing is kitcschy, only cool. I came away with these beautiful cowrie napkin rings that I love using when people come over. There were quite a few more items that I wish I had bought … but alas, I could only fit so much in my suitcase at that point. In any case, they will be opening another Banana Wind on Oahu — on the Waikiki Beach Walk, so be on the lookout for that. I know I’ll be looking …
