This location is in the outlets center. It’s nothing spectacular, but it’s fine for a quick trip in for souvenirs. I ended up buying my son a Hawaiin shirt here. ABC Stores down the ways had cheaper prices, but the size and pattern selection was much less. Service was slow, but I think I happen to get in line at the same time as everyone else in the store.

Really unfriendly workers that seemed unhappy to be there. A very limited selection of just about everything. Half the store was a giant jewelry counter with nothing that I couldn’t have found at Target. There were only three plus-sized dressed in the entire shop and all were hideously ugly. I was looking forward to my Dole Whip, but it wasn’t available. They gave us trouble about validating even though we’d spend the $ 15 minimum they require… sort of a snotty«You really are only going to spend $ 18 in our amazing store?» kind of thing. We went across the way to ABC and found TONS of souvenirs at great prices, lots of dresses in my size, and they also asked us if we needed validation. Skip the«big name» store and just go to ABC :)

We’ve been to Hilo Hatie’s before so we were looking forward to going there again. We were on a cruise ship and when we arrived at the dock we were greeted by a very nice lady who inquired if we were looking for Hattie’s. When we said yes, she put a shell necklace on us and gave us a brochure with a coupon for a free Dole pineapple cooler. She said to go wait in the shade and the van would be there shortly to take us to the store and we would be first in line. Five minutes later up pulls the van. It is a short ride over to the store and when we arrived and saw it we were shocked. Located in a small shopping center the store is now about ½ the size of the previous one. They still have plenty of merchandise to choose from. And it appeared to be good quality and reasonably priced. They had all the touristy stuff, Hawaiian shirts, leis, post cards, etc. But, when heard that they had closed some of the stores on the other islands we said this one is probably next. Seems a shame that the end of this nice business is near. We bought a few things, got our free pineapple cooler and left. Such a sad ending.

Ok touristy yes and I don’t wear Hawaiin style shirts but if you want Mauii magnets and inexpensive post cards and some dole soft serve you came to the right place. But you do get a free shell lei and air conditioning as you make yourself around the outlet mall. Maybe some cans of macadamia treats?

Four years ago, when my wife and i were on our honeymoon, Hilo Hattie was the best. This shop had everything! They handed out shell necklaces and the people were so nice. We went a few days ago, and it has gone way downhill. No necklace, in fact, the worker at the door just stared at us as we entered. Most of the store is vacant and blockaded. Selection remaining sucked. We left and shopped at ABC store next door. TOOBAD, WEUSEDTOLOVEITANDWERELOOKINGFORWARDTOSHOPPINGTHERE.

We got a coupon for a free regular size dole whip from our hotel concierge. You would have thought they were giving away gold. The employee handed us a thimble size sample and acted like the cost was coming out of her paycheck. As a result we will buy our souvenirs elsewhere. In addition, they were giving out free shell necklaces which we declined. Then my husband saw a little girl and asked if he could give hers his. He was told she already had so no! He then said it was for him and proceeded to give it to her so she would have an extra to bring home to a friend. No aloha spirit at this location!

They have Dole whip. The only place you can get that amazing cloud of pineapple fluff is Disneyland and the dole plantation on Oahu! It’s amazing. All the other stuff there is so overpriced and tacky. The 4 stars are solely for the DW!

WTFHAPPENEDTOTHISMONUMENT?! Growing up, I loved this place… the free shells, the fruit punch, the campy«oyster shtick»…now? This is a sad shell(pun intended) in a lonely warehouse. Goodbye Hilo Hattie…

Every trip to Maui or any of the islands always resulted in a «have to» visit to Hilo Hattie’s for shopping and a big shot of aloha fun. Something terrible has happened, on no island are they the same. Their Maui store in Lahaina is about 1⁄5 the original size. It looks like any large store slowly accepting its fate of a future closing. They have moved their limited merchandise into a corner of the large building. It’s so depressing, I wouldn’t recommend anyone shop there. Better selection at the cheesy ABC stores now! Goodbye Hilo Hattie, I guess everything changes we had some good times and memories through the years. Mahalo.

Haha, what a joke this store is. First you have to pay to park, and then this store requires a $ 15 minimum purchase to validate your ticket. Simply walk over to ABC stores, and you can buy something like a pack of gum and they will give you the validation. So these guys already turn you off when you walk in. Then they tempt you with a free doel whip, with with a coupon when you enter. However it’s actually a sample size, along the lines of what you would get for free at Costco if they were sampling something. Yes it’s free, so I shouldn’t complain, but I don’t appreciate the fact that you tempt me with a free doel whip and then make it a tiny sample size. Your store looks like a rundown JCPenney, maybe even an old Mervyns after a fire rumbled through. Shame on you folks, as back in the day when you had a beautiful store in Arizona, I used to be impressed and think what a wonderful wonderful company. Now you’re like an old flea market run by a grandmother that is blind and deaf. Not sure where you people get your managers, and why nobody there greeted us, but I have to say you guys need to close up shop. I’d rather see a discount tire or another store take over. Overall I’m sorry that I wasted any time in your store.

We were greeted with a lei and the dole whip was just as yummy as I remembered! Everything we looked at was made in Hawaii and there was plenty of room to move around.

Loved the store in Kihei and was dismayed that it had closed– went to Lahaina and that was a total joke! The once«great place to shop» was like a flea market run down mess(they were«remodeling»???) Super super super disappointed in the Hilo Hatties that we have loved every year on our visit!

I used to like this store and always made it a must visit on any trip to the islands. It has been 3 years since we were in Maui last and what a change we saw in the store — and NOT for the better. While we were greeted at the door by Miss Maui and Mr. Maui with shell leis, I was disappointed to see how severely the gift section had been cut. There were no more stuffed animals or items for kids, just a few clothing items. It was actually a very small section. There are tons and tons of Hawaiian shirts and clothing items, but we often went for some of the food gift items. A co-worker of mine loves the macadamia nut brittle that they sell. We went specifically to buy some for him, but there was none. What we found were the standard chocolate macadamia nut boxes and some coffee, but none of the brittle. Unless you are specifically looking for expensive Hawaiian shirts and dresses that carry the Hilo Hattie name, skip this place and go to one of the countless other stores around for tourist gifts.

Hilo Hattie’s used to be our favorite place to get souvenirs and such. Gone are the days of being greeted at the door with a shell necklace, let alone being greeted at all. The store felt very generic, carrying only overpriced Hawaiian print clothing, jewelry and a very, very limited line of gifts. A tour bus was there and everyone was commenting the same thing. This is not the Hilo Hattie’s we used to know and love. Very disappointing.

I kinda like this store more than the 1,000ABC Stores, on every block, on every island, in Hawaii. Although, everything seems to be made in China. Boooo… hisssss. I do like the free pukka shell necklaces they give you, upon entry. Maybe I don’t like this store more than the 1,000ABC Stores. My bad, Aloha.

You can’t be a tourist and not stop here. This place is HUGE! They have so many Hawaiian shirts here it’ll make your head spin. We bought so many little trinkets that I didn’t think we would have enough room in our suitcases. If you happen to end up on this part of the island I would highly recommend you check out this touristy joint and pick your hawaiian swag!

Man, this is sad. Apparently, there’s been a change in management. It’s not for the better. There’s not much merchandise in the store anymore and what there is isn’t any good. A huge chunk of the store is devoted to these knockoff Crocs. Prices are expensive too. I was told the non-outlet store that’s not so sad is the one down in Kihei. I guess tourists will just have to find their souvenirs elsewhere now.

This has got to be one of the worst stores I have entered… ever! There was approximately ten employees working, everyone of them made eye contact with my wife and I and none of them said a word to us. Not what I would consider real good customer service from a store that prides it’s self on bringing Aloha to the masses! As a resident of Maui I expect a higher standard from stores like this one. I recommend you shop other Hilo Hattie’s stores, like the one in Kihei.

The best Hilo Hattie on the entire island of Maui. Well, yes, there is only two, but this is the one that’s been there longest. In addition, this one is bigger than the Kihei location and offers a wider variety of clothing, knick-knacks, and food stuffs. Plus, there is usually never a problem finding up close parking because this one is attached to a pay-lot(free with validation from Hilo Hatties!). For those that don’t know, Hilo Hatties is the one stop for every tourists dream. Dresses, Hawai‘ian shirts, t-shirts, sandals, kids clothing, jewelry, stuffed animals, Hawai‘ian snacks, coffees & teas, toys, postcards, and many tourist-y items like mini tikis, dashboard hula girls, etc. Pretty much anything you could want to remind you of Hawai‘i or to bring back for those unlucky friends and family that couldn’t come with you. Even walking into the place, you’re greeted with an aloha and a shell lei; you could even walk in multiple times over your vacation and collect the shell leis to bring back to people. Pricing here is a bit more than average, but not ridiculously so. In addition, locals don’t really shop here; this place exclusively caters to the tourist crowd and their tastes. Still, you can’t knock a place that has ~everything~ you might need to take back to the mainland in one location. Come on out, spend that money, and enjoy the tourist side of the aloha spirit!

This store seems to have a bit of everything. Oh, and you can’t forget that free shell necklace they put around your neck once you walk in~ Everything is a bit pricier here, but this store is very clean, organized, and a bit of a commercialized feel in my opinion. They have their own jewelry section in the center of the store. Lots of soaps/lotions/small gifts towards the registers… oh and their logo mugs which we have gotten for free during other visits(with a $$ purchase minimum).
