Henry was excellent. Lomi lomi with scalp therapy. Wonderful gift from my husband and a great way to enjoy my birthday!

I went to this spa because my friend recommended it and I loved it! It was a nice departure from the cookie cutter resort ones that seem to be all over Maui. The couple’s massage was spot on — our first time with a male and female therapist and it was really great. Staff were very professional and attentive. I wish I could visit more often. I used to get my massage treatments at Spa Kapalua(now Montage and the price doubled). Went to Ho’ola Spa with my daughter last week due to the close proximity and being in the nice Honua Kai property. The front desk clerk Ashley was not friendly at all. She took us to a waiting area and had us fill out forms. We asked to see the salt room as that’s part of the treatment but she said the therapist would have to show us. The massage was $ 135 for 50 minutes and we upgraded with an aromatherapy for extra $ 15. I do not recommend the upgrade as I could not smell the scent I had chosen. In fact, I do not recommend this spa, period. The massage was mediocre. The small locker room had just one shower, one hair dryer, no razor, and the hair spray bottle was empty. The salt room that was supposed to be good for our skin was a joke. It was just a room with 4 chairs in each corner and a few magazines on the table. After this not relaxing experience, the front desk clerk Ashley overcharged us. We phoned the next day when we realized and asked for the manager to call back but nobody did. I returned to the spa and it was Ashley again. Pointed out to her the overcharged amount and she rudely said«do you want it back?» We are never coming to Ho’ola Spa ever again!!! What an aggravating experience.

My wife and I went for a nice oil massage. Staff were kind and asked questions about what we each wanted. Just enough pressure to get rid of those sore muscles and still have a relaxing massage. Those warm massage beds are fantastic, we will be back.

This is not a spa, but a glorified salon with facials and massages. Not spa amenities. Very small locker room/shower area. Relaxation room is a joke. If you just want a massage with no spa amenities that nurses this is your place. For $ 130.00 you should be able to have a full spa experience.

Went here earlier with the wifey earlier to get a couples message. The people here were friendly, the massage was good and the best part is that they clean. I’ve been to other massages where the place either looks old or you have people talking while getting a massage. My wife got the prenatal massage while I got the Lomi Lomi. Caitlin is the person who did my massage and she was extremely nice and friendly and always made sure that the pressure was right in the different areas. I would definitely come back again.

I am updating my rating based on the very constructive and positive exchange I have had over the last several weeks with an operations manager. He responded to my concerns; explained what they are committed to improve; was very receptive to further, more specific, feedback. He demonstrated his commitment to customer satisfaction by sending me a spa product as an apology. I will definitely try the spa again when we are there next year.

Nice new spa but not really special given the other choices in the area. It’s quite small, the staff were lovely and very professional and very handy if you are staying at honua Kai as we were. But I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit here, the extra facilities like steam rooms and relaxation areas you get at the big fancy spas on the island are pretty impressive and given the prices are the same you are better off for a long indulgent spa visit to go to one of them. A quick massage or facial this spa is fine but it won’t blow your socks off like the grande wailea or even next door at the westin.

My husband and I experienced a couple’s massage at the spa. It was lovely. We both thought the massage therapists who worked on us were professional and did an excellent job. The atmosphere of the spa is clean, new, relaxing, and had many nice amenities(like lockers, showers, the nicest robes, brushes, etc). After our hour and 45 minute massage we sat in the salt room. It was a great relaxing day– what a treat! The one thing I didn’t love was the little sales push for the lotions, candles, etc at the end, but overall a great experience.

This review is not about the quality of the services provided but about the booking process that I experienced just minutes ago. We are staying here at the Honua Kai Resort in the Konea Tower the same building in which the Ho’ola Spa is located. I called down to book a service for my wife. The person on the phone seemed nice and was helpful in selecting a time for the service. I told her we were staying at the resort and gave her our unit #. Once the time was selected(45 minutes from my phone call) she asked for a CC number to guarantee the reservation… ok I gave that to her even though I thought that unusual considering we are right here and the appointment was less than an hour away. She then insisted on having the security code on the back of my card. I told her that she did not need that unless I was actually buying something at that moment. She stated that her manager requires she get the security code. I said I would not give it to her and if that was required then we would not be booking their services. I can understand wanting to be certain that people show up for appointments but there is a limit on what a business should do when clearly they can compromise the security of their clients. I personally would not give out my security code for any appointment with any business unless I was pre paying for something.

My first impression was the scent. It’s subtle and inviting. Next was the smiling helpful pleasant receptionist. Very fun personality. She took her time explaing products I might want to use for my massage and maybe purchase. While walking along a corridor towards the dressing rooms with her, there are displays of different painting’s you can purchase from various artists. The dressing area is great. cool towels, loved that, very plush robes, shower with all kinds products as well as hair products. I went and flled out a form at the back i guess reception area. I was very comfortable eating some Fruit and flavored water while you wait a few moments for the therapist. There’s this salt room I went in after my massage, that has different changes of light, for light therapy, and walls of Himalayan salt. Great for your lungs as well I hear. Very cool. All in all I find the people at the spa very friendly, helpful, and the therapists excellent, my gosh I walked out of there completely relaxed. Loved it.

Soooo… My first impression of the place wasn’t that good it’s very small and not very comfortable. Pretty awkward actually. The employees were walking around with their heads down not making eye contact like they were scared. They didn’t seem like they had people skills. I also didn’t find it relaxing because they have the bright Hawaiian sun shining through the windows and it was a rainy day so just imagine how much sun would be coming through if it was a normal day. Nothing about the environment I felt helped with the setting and the mood. Also I hated that the waiting room, despite all the money we were spending on this couple message, they had flyers for art that the resort was trying to sell and they were trying to push selling the condos they had on the waiting table. How is that relaxing. Blah… Then they had wicker pool chairs for us to sit on, nice wicker pool chairs but still hard and again not relaxing. But why did I give the spa 4 stars. The main reason why we went to the spa was for the massage and all though I felt the environment wasn’t that great the Massage therapist were on point. I had Henry, I believe his name was and he was the first massage therapist who actually worked out all my knots and make me feel like my money was well spent. He was great and I am hard to please. He did everything right and I was very very impressed with him. I wish he would go to another spa. I needed more focus on my shoulders and he was very receptive as to where on my body needed more pressure. I felt he was very in tune with what I needed, which I can sadly say I never had. My husband had a lady we didn’t get her name but she was blonde and had cute tan flats. He said she seemed very knowledgable as far as where the pressure was needed and a great facial and scalp massage. She too was very receptive of his needs without him having to say anything, typically during a massage we feel we are having to correct but not with these guys I can happily say they were perfect and I have no regrets spending the money on them.
