Bizarre experience, ants all over the walls. Server is kinda creepy. We had to move because the ants were crawling up our backs. Birds flying in and nobody that works there is bothered by it. Negative!

Food was great. Loved the coffee, which was sorely needed, and the service was great as well. Lots of interesting art, so if you are with young kids and your sensitive to that, be aware. We got there about 7:30 and no problems getting in, but by 8:30 it started to get packed. Clear people like it and packet in, which j understand. Jazz music playing as you would expect. Would love to catch them for dinner as I hear it’s love music at that point. All in all, we really liked it and would go back.

We didn’t eat here. We sat immediately at the bar around 8pm for some drinks. We were serviced promptly and the drinks were made well. The live music was enjoyable and the band was talented. We had fun.

Doesn’t look like a smoothie place. Was a little confused thinking it was a bar. Haha But they do have smoothies, friendly service, & well worth the stop! The rock n roll looking guy was very nice & makes a great smoothie! We got the following smoothies for our midday treat: piña colada, mango, chunky monkey, cookies-n-cream. All were absolutely delicious! We added whip cream & they hit the spot!

The fish & chips were very good. The pancake had to have plastic peeled off of it. The waitress wore a very low cut dress & kept leaning over the table to show her cleavage. It was embarrassing. She was a nice gal though. There were random thoughts placed up on the screen. Many seemed in poor taste & the«f» word was used. The first night, we could not eat there because the music was too loud. If you want to eat with loud music you can go after 7PM. We went the next night and ate before seven. It was quieter. If all of these things appeal to you,(& they may) you would like it there. Different strokes for different folks.

Okay, most people when they walk in and see only one man waiting tables, they run out. We didn’t. It was 7:15 in the morning and we were starving! The place was pretty busy, so we had to sit at the bar. The man greeted us and we ordered our food. Everything was very quick and yummy. If you come here between 6 – 8(don’t quote me), the early bird special is $ 7 and comes with fluffy scrambled eggs, a HUGE pancake, and two crispy slices of bacon. Overall we spent $ 22 on our breakfast and we were satisfied. We came here 3 more times until we left and the waiter(probably the owner) remembered us! He welcomed us with open arms and told us to come back here again next time we visit & he’ll remember us. Aloha!

I had the huevos rancheros and they were great! My husband had eggs and potatoes with the Portuguese sausage and one pancake — all delicious. Their«small» pancake was not small at all! The vibe was laid back, perfect for a slow Saturday morning. Overall, great experience. So glad we came here instead of waiting for a table with all the screaming little ankle biters at Slappy Cakes. Thanks to Unilocalers for the recommendation!

It was our first trip to Maui & my family & I came across this place by accident. We are so glad we did. The food was amazing. This is some quality food in Maui, it was by far one of the best restaurants we visited during our stay on the island. The atmosphere was also great, & this place has some of the nicest & most hardworking staff I have ever seen. Everyone was so kind & welcoming. It was the only restaurant we visited more than once during our stay. My family & I fell in love with this place, we were so heartbroken when it came time to leave, but we will definitely return on our next trip to Maui.(:

Cute spot with an awesome atmosphere. We listened to relaxing jazz while we ate and the food was wonderful! We were not disappointed and were served quickly. The staff was pleasant and efficient. We had a yummy and affordable breakfast with some cocktails. Would definitely recommend this place(and we would definitely come back). Plus the pancake is Massive and for only 3.50 a great deal, we tried a single cake with bananas. Heavenly!

Wish we would have discovered this place years ago ! Directly across from our resort. Turkey wrap and fries delish. Don’t let strip mall site fool you! Go in and enjoy. Super neat place !!

Great breakfast! I had the regular stack with mac nuts, which was an insane amount of food. My wife had the two egg breakfast, which was not an insane amount of food, but a good portion for sure. All the food was great, the coffee was great and the server was fast and really friendly. The décor is indeed eclectic, but I liked having breakfast in a place with some character. $ 30 for a lot of food and coffee was very fair. Would definitely return.

The service and food here are both great! The food was yummy, in huge portions, and came out quick! Also, it was not crowded at all. We definitely recommend breakfast here over all other places.

I had heard about this place for quite sometime, and just never managed to make it in until one night my friends band was playing, and we decided to go up for dinner and the show. They serve food all day long, and the prices are quite reasonable. They also have live music nightly. We started are meals with smoothies. They have quite the flavor selection, and all of them sound yummy. I finally settled on the lemon meringue pie smoothie, and my husband got the mango. Both were super flavorful, and were gone in minutes. For dinner I ordered the fettuccine alfredo. I was a little bummed it didn’t include garlic bread(I ordered that separate), and I thought it could use a little more flavor. My husband ordered the falafel sandwich in a wrap. He said it was just ok, nothing great but not bad. The ambiance was fun, and there was a diverse crowd hanging out there. They had lots of seats, and a full bar. The live music is a big plus as the westside is very quiet in that department. Worth checking out!

Let me start off with saying, here in Maui for the first time, so not a local… stood at Kaanapali Shores right across the street and Java Jazz is a very cool spot to hang out, e specially since there is not a lot in the area close by. There is live music playing nightly I believe. The food was really good… i had chicken tacos one night and their shrimp tacos the next night and we’re both on point. 2 nicely sized tacos, enough to get u full with just the 2. Also tried the Salmon w/mash /vegetables and was also very good. Has a lemon citrus taste which delicious. This place is a must try

Our food was bizarre(mushroom gravy on the loco moco, scrambled eggs overcooked to bounciness), the décor was bizarre(naked doll cage, the TV looping right wing conspiracy nut memes, religious memes and paradoxical anti-religious memes), the music choice was bizarre(Ministry followed by smooth jazz). The whole experience was just bizarre. Basically, this place is kinda like what I imagine a dive bar would look like if it were designed by crazy right-wing nutters who heard what a dive bar should look like through second hand stories.

Okay drinks. Tiny place. Stage is horrible, equipment outdated. If your wanting the best this is not your place. Short drive to many other better music and dining venues. But.If mediocrity is fine by you then this is your place. As another reviewer said«Come for the atmosphere, skip the food.» I disagree, skip it all…

November 20, 2015 Friday — 10:15AM for breakfast 4 adults Atmosphere — 4 star Food — 3 stars Service — 4 stars Background — Breakfast before snorkeling, need some protein. Atmosphere — Eclectic. The TV had a slide show going on it and some of the images were questionable if you had kids with you. We did not have any with us. I did not see the images as my back was to the TV but it was the topic after we left. Food — Drinks — Just some water. Meal — Two eggs over easy, sour dough toast and home fries. Nothing wowed me here. The food could have been warmer. Service — Just there, he seemed a little overwhelmed. Future — Sure I would give them another try.

Fantastic Coffee(hot & iced)! My wife and I were recently visiting Maui for our Honeymoon and found Java Jazz on Unilocal and decided to give it a shot! We ended up doing takeout(coffees & bagels) and the service was excellent as well as the food! We came back a few days later and sat down for a full breakfast(mimosas included). The waiter was great — he even remembered us from the take out encounter earlier in the week even though we didn’t order through him. I like that. He made me a fancier mimosa with some guava and mango mixed in — his own special concoction. It was perfect. Stop in — you won’t regret it. Great service and food — we even bought Java Jazz mugs next door(because we are lame).
