I noticed this brand new show to Maui online and took a risk to try it with my family. I am SO glad I did!!! What a fun, educational, humorous and exceptional show in a most beautiful setting up the mountain. From the first phone call to get more info and reserve tickets until the final goodbyes we experienced professional and friendly staff who were there to make our time outstanding. We loved the small group atmosphere(only about 30 guests are allowed) which made for a more personal experience and you couldn’t get any closer to view the hula dancing and beautiful horses and showmanship! Any seat is great. We did purchase the Ali’i seat package which I wouldn’t do next time as they encourage you to eat dinner before you come and have a few snacks and drinks available at the show. The shell lei included in the package we wore at the show and we did enjoy the front row seating though! This is definitely a unique experience that is a WONDERFUL addition to shows offered in Maui!

I have seen this show more than once, and it is wonderful! A beautifully told story about the history of the horse in Hawaii. It’s a very intimate and visually stunning show. The hula and the live music are incredible, and the venue is absolutely stunning! You arrive just in time for sunset, and then get to enjoy the show under a star-lit sky. The horses are absolutely gorgeous! The very first scene involving a horse, will blow you away! In fact, most of the scenes involving the horses will blow you away. Anyone that knows anything about horseback riding will be very impressed by the quadrille. The riders make it look easy, but I can assure you it’s not. I highly recommend this show to anyone interested in Hawaiian history, hula, theater, horseback riding, horses… or just beautiful things. One of my visits was with some Hawaiian history buff friends, and they were very impressed with how accurate all the details were. Another visit was with a family including a four-year-old little girl, she was mesmerized the whole time! A must see, and very family friendly!

Na Lio is an enjoyable experience of horses, Pa’u riders in traditional costumes, campfire Talk Story, and great Hawaiian Slack Key music. With the venue high in the West Maui Mountains overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this is hard to beat entertainment. It starts with a private bus ride from the Gateway Center in Lahaina, up and onto the bypass road until reaching the arena. Try it, you’ll be glad you did!

What an artistic collaboration of equestrian delights and hula! Na Lio is choreographed to convey the story of a gift, a love, and a Nobel tradition. Upon arriving at Na Lio, you are treated to sweeping views of the west Maui coastline. Watch as whales play in the waters of the ‘Au ‘au channel, as the sun slips into the blue pacific. The theme is inspired by a paniolo(cowboy) camp fire-talk story, kanikapila(to gather together, sing and play music) The elegant setting is enhanced by the peaks and valleys of Maui Komohana(west Maui mountains) as a back drop. The starry night sky and gentle breeze, let you know that you are in for an intimate evening which is going to transport you back to a more gentle time in Hawai’i history. Filled with beautiful horses, and gorgeous hula! Na Lio is an extraordinary production and the level of quality is an inspiration. A dream come true for the hard work of everyone involved. Dress casual with a light jacket for after sunset. At the end of the show we were invited to meet the performers and photo ops with the horses. AMAZING
