We went to the actual restaurant after having no luck finding the truck. The restaurant is hard to find as well, it’s located next to the Jamba Juice. Anyway, we had the pleasure of meeting Chris the owner and he explained most of the food we ordered to us! I highly recommend the Crunch burger and the corn. Both amazingly delicious and you can tell he puts passion into his food. We were so happy we got to experience this restaurant and I would definitely come back next time we were on the island!

New location tricky to find next to Jamba Juice. Great place, good food, tried taco trio 3 different kinds, and the corn on the cob, it was great choice, waitress recommendation. We had wonderful service, Chris the owner/chef came to ask us what we thought of the place. My son sent me to try it out, by word of mouth and I would go again!

Great place! We stumbled upon this restaurant on our recent trip to Maui and are really glad we did. The vibe here is super chill and friendly, and the service is excellent! I had the Barn Salad, and the Portobello Burger. All the veggies and lettuce in the salad tasted fresh and the sesame dressing was delicious. The burger was cooked to perfection and so yummy! I definitely recommend you try this place when visiting Maui!

We came back two more times during our stay for a week. Next time we are in Maui, it will be daily! Brussell sprouts, fish tacos, Ahi, burgers, everything we tried was excellent. Chris has created some beautiful dishes and absolutely tasty treats.

They moved and now have a restaurant location. New location is 170 Papalaua Ste #104 right next to Jamba Juice. This is our second time back to Maui and first time we were blown away by how delicious their food is! I told my husband we have to come back and eat their food again. We got lost and went to their old location but wouldn’t give up and thank god we called their number, which directed us to their new location. Food is still the same, insanely delicious. I got their fish tacos again and every bite was full of flavor. Nothing has pleased a pregnant woman more than their food, both times. My husband got their crunch burger, just as delicious. Both came with their fried rice. I am not into fried rice with spam but theirs was an exception, the right amount of flavor and I didn’t mind the spam. Food is a little pricey and I have a hard time justifying price on food but I think food is very worth the price. We’ll have to come back again before we leave. It’s probably one of the best food/meals I’ve ever had in my life.

THEFOODTRUCKHASMOVEDTO A RESTAURANT on the corner of Front street & Papalua next door to Jamba Juice. Must try! The Brussel sprouts were there best we’ve ever had– the surf & turf tacos, burgers, and corn on the cob are excellent too. Hands down the best food in Maui!

This place had my hopes up. Simple, non intrusive menu and casual place. But I think there was definitely a disconnect from the truck to the brick and mortar. My shrimp wasn’t cooked through(how hard is that?) and when I asked to send it back, the chef came over and apologized and said«sorry, I’m training a new chef.» As if that’s an appropriate excuse? I won’t even go into why that just isn’t what you say to a customer. It was expensive for what you got, and the bare bones dining room left us exposed and overhearing a lot of the staff conversations. I would not go back unfortunately.

The food truck is currently closed. Chef said they are taking a few months break and concentrating on the restaurant business. When they are ready, they will take the truck all over the island. In the mean time, go visit their restaurant location — Shark Pit Social 170 papalaua Lahaina, HI96761. My full review will be under that listing.

Do not miss this place when in Maui. It will be the best lunch you will have on the island, hands down. Chris could not be nicer or a better host, and his cooking is inspired. Fresh local ingredients, cooked to order. You eat outdoors under canopies at communal tables with other friendly foodies. What more can you ask for? Ignore the idiotic one star review recently posted and focus on all the other incredibly positive ones! Standouts for us were the chicken meatballs, that amazing corn on the cob, and the Korean beef tacos. I look forward to eating Chris’ food again when next visiting Maui.

Awesome food! Hard to find but worth the effort– call for location. Shark Pit is amazing!!! We try to eat here each Maui visit. Enjoyed lunch so much yesterday we came back today– for the same meals!!! Paniolo Crunch Burger– I ordered no bun, Patty Melt, Funked Up Fries, & corn. The taste combos of his sauces with the foods are so tasty and delicious. Although meal is served on a paper plate, it is worthy of a silver platter! Yum.

Omg. This review is past due but omg. I’m at a loss for words. This is by far the best food I have ever had by far! I highly recommend this place, I found this place because I saw that a famous chef had eaten here and I had to try it. I ate here while on my trip in Maui and I miss it so much I would visit Maui again ONLY for this food. It’s exceptional I wish we had it here in California. Anyways exceptionally delicious food, great price. I would give this food 10 stars. The Korean tacos are to die for. Again. I highly recommend eating here. Best place in Maui.

***3.5 stars Some things to know: + Located across the CHURCH on ulupono street @ the back of gated parking lot — I still had a hard time finding this place knowing this information — The WHITE banner is a poor choice of color because it blends in with the gate so it’s useless. + Hours are inconsistent — call or check on Facebook. The boyfriend and I tried the shrimp and Kalbi tacos. Delicious Asian inspired flavors that complimented each other very well on the taco but nothing too amazing. I expect sometime more for $ 12. I’m from San Diego and so I’m not used to paying this price for tacos when it cost $ 3 each for delicious ones too. We also got the corn which felt like samplers because it was 2 mini ¼ of a cob… Overall, good flavor and taste on the food for a food truck but a little on the hype and pricey side.

Initially this truck was hard to find. Siri said we were here and all we saw was a church. If we were paying attention, it’s on the other side of the street in a fenced off area. Oops. We got Corn with furikake, cut up in pieces– The corn was from a new vendor and it wasn’t very sweet. he asked me about it and I told him Surf and turf tacos– Big portion, easily sharable for my tiny appetite. The food was yummy and since it’s an award winning food cart, I needed to see what the hype was about. By far, my favorite part was the service. The owner of the truck was really friendly and super cool to chat with.

We came kind of late in the day, so unfortunately they were out of the fish tacos and furikake corn. Not to worry, we ordered the spicy shrimp tacos, patty melt, cheesesteak, ground beef tacos and korean beef tacos. All the food was really good, but I especially liked the korean beef tacos and the cheesesteak best of all. I would have liked a bit more heat with the spicy shrimp tacos, but that’s me. The Shark Pit had a couple of tables set-up, which was a nice touch too. Chris, the owner was very friendly and accommodating. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip.

Back again and it’s still amazing. This time we got to chat with Kavi who is a super nice guy, he dropped some great suggestions for other places to check out. We also realized we were all from NorCal and had the same faves for taquerias in SF! Shark Pit has to be on your must-try list if you’re on the island, incredible food and great vibe!

I LOVESHARKPIT!!! Trekked our way to Lahaina from Wailea while in Maui and it was worth it for Shark Pit. This was one of my favorite food trucks in Maui. They carry such an unique twist on tacos. My favorite was the portugese sausage and meatball tacos($ 12). The shrimp taco was great as well. They didn’t have any fish that day so we weren’t able to try the fish tacos. Not cheap, but delicious. The furikake fried rice was also a nice touch to the taco plates. The corn wasn’t really anything special in my opinion. I would skip this. Definitely stop by if you’re in Lahaina. There’s also a lemonade truck next to Shark Pit if you’re thirstay!

Sent my taste buds through the roof! Thank you for offering a veggie option. We had the veggie tacos plate with corn on the cob instead of the Hawaiian fried rice that has lots of meat in it. The corn was absolutely de-lish. I love the blend of Hawaiian flavors with a Mexican swing. I could eat tacos everyday, all day! My friends had the surf and turf, shrimp tacos, fish tacos and fried rice. All raved about their dishes. If ever on Maui — -eat here!!!

The Shark Pit is like the hot, ass kicking Bruce Willis of food trucks. So tasty and juicy, it really got me going and I’m thirsty for more! In all of my visits to Maui, I had never been on this side of Lahaina. The truck is parked across the street from a church in a fenced in area. There are a few tables set up under a tent for eating there. We enjoyed a steak poke Cesar salad, pulled pork plate with extra corn on the cob and the fish tacos. Hot damn, I really don’t need to regurgitate all of the other glowing reviews on Unilocal.Honestly, just get some. All of it. In terms of value, I haven’t been to another establishment in Maui that is such a great quality/value ratio. Everything is expensive. But when you can get quality, farm sourced food for around $ 10 per person, that is a steal. The guys are not only awesome cooks, they were very entertaining and friendly. We are probably going back tomorrow. And every day until we leave for the frozen tundra.
