Ehh… its ok. We went for the dessert choclate fondue. Probably good fun with a bunch of people or for party. Not for the foodies.

I don’t know why Oahu doesn’t have one but I will probably always stop here when I go to Maui. The service was awesome, friendly, accommodating, and knowledgable of the menu. We took advantage of the special New Years Even menu, which was worth it. I have to warn you though, it is pricey. The best part of the meal were the appetizers(which came with your choice of cheese), the dessert(which came with your choice of chocolate — we choose the white chocolate crème brule), and the drinks. We had the Yin and Yang(which tasted like a white chocolate /chocolate dessert despite the alcohol). The main entrée part is much like shabu shabu. Don’t pay extra for the lobster. it’s not worth it. for $ 12, we got 4 pieces of lobster.

Originally planned to have desert here on Christmas night but after eating snacks all day decided to have cheese and salad first(had to get some greens in someplace). The food was typical of any Melting Pot. Sadly our server was not in the Christmas spirit. He did not inform us of the peppermint fondu they were offering for the holidays and when our bill came, he had our party of 5 listed as a party of 6(two of which were kids, one of which did not eat anything) so the tip was automatically included. Instead of pointing this out, I left the minimum tip calculated on the bill. If you have one in your local town, not sure it is really worth going to while on vacation.

Very Cool Theme! Nice Atmosphere, Good Service. Unique combinations In the menu(especially With The Deserts, Wildberry Crunch is awesome). But in the end, the food quality & Taste not so good. Very nice Experience Though. Good For Dates! not so expensive for a 4 course dinner with cool experience & good service.

This is an absolute favorite, not cheap by any means but a really cool experience & the wait staff was very good. We won’t go every day but we definitely will go four or times a year for special occasions.

Whenever my friend and I visit Maui, Melting Pot is always a must! The first time we went was in October of 2010 and we just couldn’t get enough and went the both nights we were in town from Oahu. This past time we went we brought our friend that we’ve been wanting to come with us. She loved it. And like the two previous times we had our favorite server, Sally. She’s so great! Always remembers us even if we only get to come in maybe twice a year! Visited the Las Vegas Melting Pot and it just wasn’t the same.

A fun break from the Front Street menus which has a variety of options to suit everyone in the family. My wife and I preferred the Cheese Fondue meal and Chocolate Dream Fondue for desert. Would have been 5 star if we could have been seated within 15 minutes of our reservation time, but after we were seated… divine.

The girlfriend wanted to check this Fondue place out and she really recommended it! So I was pretty capitvated with the chill atmosphere, lounge music, and the fondue Cheese Dipping concept. The whole concept of fondue — having a burner in front of you, dipping your food in to cheese, and cooking it at the same time was pretty fun… but the magic wears off fast after the first course especially with the food being so-so. The cheese dip really wasn’t that much better than heated up Tostito cheese. We had the five course meal and the food was decent and plentiful. Even the desserts were fondue like with hot melted chocolate. I was a little tired of the whole fondue concept at this time. 5 courses of fondue really wears you down if you ask me. The real disappointment came when we got the bill. I couldn’t justify to myself paying almost $ 150 for basically BBQ Food. But, you’re in Lahaina and you pay for the location, atmosphere, and the dipping gimmick. Nevertheless, the Service was really good and the place was nice. I just didn’t care for the food and the price.

My husband and I dined here tonight and LOVED it. After a disappointing experience at our resort, we decided to look elsewhere for a nice dinner. We ended up the Melting Pot and we were definitely not disappointed. When we first arrived, we were told there would be a 30 – 45 min wait. Okay, that’s not too bad for a Sat night so we headed over to Barnes & Noble while we waited for a table to become available. However, the wait turned into over an hour, and that’s why they lost a star. I don’t know if they overheard me complaining to my husband while we were waiting or if they’re just intuitive, but they apologized profusely for the wait taking longer than it should’ve and the manager even bought us our first round of drinks because of it. Our server was very friendly, attentive, and informative. She was great! We weren’t sure what to expect as far as the food quality, but everything was delicious. We got their 4 course meal with cheese, salad, meat, & chocolate. It was plenty of food as well, as we are STILL stuffed and we did not even finish the cheese or the chocolate(actually couldn’t eat much of the chocolate as we were too stuffed!) We highly recommend the oreo cookie chocolate fondue though, it was AMAZING! We were celebrating my birthday as well, so when they brought out dessert, the cheesecake had a candle on it, so that was thoughtful. To top it off, we found a $ 10 off coupon out by the elevator which helped with the price, on top of the free round of drinks. :) We are considering going there again if time permits during our vacation. If not, we will certainly visit the one in San Diego in the future.

I’d like to preface my review by saying that I live on Maui and I’m not some lightweight eater who is satisfied with puny portions. I like my food and if I’m going to pay a lot of money for it… it BETTERBEGOOD! My girlfriends and I went to The Melting Pot for the first time last night and it was AWESOME!!! I highly recommend it. Service: Talk about share the aloha. The hostess came out and opened the door for us when she saw us coming. She promptly checked our reservations and ushered us quickly to our table. Our«Fondue Specialist,“Kendall(aka our server), came to our table immediately and explained the menu in great detail. She let us know that we could swap out items we didn’t like and told us we could request additional bread, veggies, or fruit at no extra charge. She kept up a steady stream of engaging conversation and made sure we weren’t lacking anything all night. She and the young man serving our table made sure things were cleared, drinks were kept full, and food was brought out in a timely manner. The manager also stopped by several times to see how we were doing. Atmosphere: We had a booth that was tucked away in an alcove just off the main flow of traffic. It afforded us privacy and blocked much of the noise of the few families with children. I thought the place was very stylish and comfortable. Food: We got the 4 Course Classic Fondue to split between the three of us. After reading some reviews here I thought I was going to end up positively STARVING afterwards. NOTSOMONFRERE! Kendal brought us extra bread and veggies with the cheese fondue which was very tasty(a little bland for my tastes, so we added salt and pepper which increased the YUM factor) For the salad course, one of my friends and I ordered House Salads with Peppercorn Ranch dressing which was so tasty I had to ask for extra dressing which Kendal gladly provided. The third person in our party ordered an extra salad($ 9) and RAVED about the warm burgundy shallot dressing. I tasted some of it and it was superb. For the entrée, we swapped out the seafood and added more of the pepper crusted beef, teriyaki marinated beef, and chicken. There was SO much meat on that platter that the three of us had trouble finishing all of it. PLUS it came with a bowl of potatoes, broccoli, and mushrooms to add to the Coq au Vin broth. They also brought out more bread because we wanted to dip that in the broth. All three of us were STUFFED well before desert was served. When we got down to the last piece of meat our conversation went like this: I can’t eat it – YOU eat it! For the desert course, we got the Flaming Turtle. Since I’m not big on chocolate and I was already stuffed to exploding, I hadn’t planned on eating any of it. When they brought out the dippers I changed my mind. I wanted to try the rice crispies and the cheesecake. YUM. There was a ice little array of tasty morsels to add to the chocolate which Kendall set aflame right in front of us. From start to finish the entire experience was fun and filling. I couldn’t have eaten any more food if I’d tried. Kendall asked if we wanted her to bring out more dippers for the chocolate and the look my friend shot at her was SO horrified Kendall started laughing. This place was so much fun I can’t wait to go back! I did not find the price outrageous for the food, service, and dinning experience we enjoyed. And I really DID enjoy it hence the epic length review.

In A Nutshell: Pricy, Friendly Service, Lots of Fun Atmosphere: Great Ambiance. Casual with a classy feel. Dim lighting in an intimate setting with complimentary wall decorations and an overall pleasant dining environment. Service: Attentive and friendly. Our waiter knew the menu in an out and was able to answer any questions we had, it being our first time to this kind of restaurant. Drinks were refilled and finished plates removed fairly quickly. The manager even stopped by the table at the end of our meal to ask about our experience and ensure that everything went well. Quality: Food was great. The meats and vegetables are all fresh and tender. All the dippers compliment their respective cheese fondue or chocolate. Price: Here is where it loses a star for me. The food is quite expensive for the portion size even given the quality of food and the style of restaurant. The entrees are upwards of $ 29 for small cuts of meat, seafood and/or vegetables. The cheese fondue appetizer and the following salad felt more filling than the entrees. However, we went on a Wednesday night and took advantage of their special for 50% off entrees for the first 50 minutes, which certainly helped lighten the bill a bit. Overall, I had a fun experience. Definitely a great place to go in a group to encourage social interaction and sharing food family-style. Its not someplace I would go often, but once in a while for special occasions or occasional group/couple outings. Also not somplace I would go to when starving, but ideal for dessert or a light dinner.

I love Melting Pot. This is the 3rd location that I have been to and at each location, hands down they have awesome service. It’s definitely fun and something different. If you don’t like certain things you can substitute for others.(i.e. we are not big veggie eaters so for the cheese dip we asked for more bread and chips) Pros: 1) Best Service 2) Fun and unique way to have dinner 3) Got to try an array of food with the Big Night out. Lots of food. had to take the salad and some of the dessert home. 4) Local add on – this location added sweet taro bread and pineapple. really loved these alternative. Cons: 1) Kind of pricy – but it’s fun to do once and a while — tip for locals… for the«Big night out» there is a Kama’aina Discount which we didn’t know about till our awesome server just added it on after finding out where we are from. Can’t wait to return.

Love Love the Melting Pot!!! Went in Oct 2010 and we arrived around 9pm or so and the restaurant was totally empty! But the only down fall was that the service wasent that great for the restaurant being empty. We went back a couple of nights later in the evening and the restaurant was still empty, but the service was excellent! We decided to have the milk chocolate/peanut butter fondue. it came with bit size cheese cake, rice crispies/mashmallow, fruits, brownies, etc and the waiter even asked us if we wanted more! On top of that we had a swiss cheese w/kirsh fondue! Melting Pot I always crave you!!! Stay on Maui so it will give me a reason to vist my favorite island on my favorite side of the island!!!

The Skinny: Ambiance is top notch. Great place to go for a quiet dinner because the place is mostly empty and sprawling, even during prime dinner time on a Saturday night. It is dimly lit with rich dark paneled walls. As you enter there is a large, impressive glass walled wine cellar. When you look at the menu you will know it is filled with expensive wines. Service is also top notch. Chris knew his menu and explained it well and deftly prepared our cheese fondue table side. Food was nothing special, mediocre, and way over priced. My husband and I each had a salad, shared and appetizer and a dessert and that was more than enough food. The California Salad($ 9) had a sickeningly sweet dressing that you could mellow out with a salad topping(served on the side) that was mostly salt and non caking chemical agents. The artichoke cheese fondue was supposed to be the best and it was okay but definitely not worth $ 22. It was served with raw apple, stale bread, and a scant cup of raw veggies(broccoli, cauliflower, raw baby carrot). We chose to skip an entrée because we seemed to have enough food and because we weren’t into dipping and cooking things in broths. Especially with Vegetarian entrée starting at $ 29 and escalating up from there for sea foods and fillet Mignon. Honestly who eat boiled food? Especially fillet Mignon. That’s insane. The tasty sounding broths were also an additional $ 7. Ka-ching, Ka-ching do you see a pattern here? Chocolate fondue was OK, but not worth $ 20. I would rather have one decent dessert than dip a bunch of mediocre bites into chocolate sauce. I had a $ 9 glass of wine and my husband had a weak pineapple mojito $ 7. In the end it was $ 95 with tax and tip. Was it worth it? Hell NO! I could have gotten way better food for the same price or less at a bunch of other places on the island.

Come here for dessert!!! We’ve visited other Melting Pot locations throughout California. They all run pretty much the same, only open for dinners. Reservations suggested. For Lahaina, this location was fairly empty when we dined, but still made a reservation as suggested, for the same day via their automated phone service. Immediate follow-up phone call was made within a few hrs. There really wasn’t much my son found appetizing, sadly, and we already could tell we were going to be making a visit to Penne Pasta Café before we returned to the resort. There was very little kid-friendly on the menu if your child does not eat much meats/seafood. It’s a very limited menu, now that I remember, but to an adult who ventures when it comes to food, it’s a bit more welcoming. Anyhow, we were able to order a cheese fondue that blandly resembled a salsa queso… but the beer they used to mix in with the cheese was just really overpowering, or we didn’t let it sit long enough to cook out/off… the portions of fondue to dipping items seemed a bit off too… The saving end was the delicious s’mores chocolate for dessert. It was a Tues night I believe, and their chocolate fondue was an all-you-can-eat, but we were just fine ordering a couple extra chocolate-covered marshmallows for my son to finish the last few drops of chocolate and our waiter kindly brought those out. There is a little flare and gusto in fondue presentation, but overall, not a great place for kids, I learned. Our server was very attentive, and chatty. He turned out to be from my neck of the woods from OC. It was an ok dining experience, nothing atrotious, nothing outrageously good… Pricey? Yes for still feeling hungry afterwards after my cheese and chocolate fondue items. Would I return? Of course, just without a kid in tow LOL …

a Maui take on a classic upscale chain… and a great experience, even if it was a little longer than it takes in the other MP’s we’ve been in(Seattle, Tacoma, Albuquerque, DC) because of the Spirit of Aloha… it’s the same menu as the mainland, same experience. That’s not necessarily a bad thing when you’ve been trying new things all over Maui! The staff was really cool with our family, and you get what you pay for. If you like MP, you’ll love this place. Definitely worth a visit if you are tired of the Lahaina Front Street Scene!

My hubby and I have been to The Melting Pot several times in Atlanta, and when we booked our 5 year anniversary trip to Hawaii, we decided to go to The Melting Pot for our dinner. He called a service afew weeks ahead to let them know we’d be coming and let them know he wanted a secluded table because of the occasion. The service confirmed with him the day of that our reservation had been received and we were good to go! We got there and were seated within minutes. The staff here is very friendly. We were seated at a secluded table in the back and introduced to our waitress, Amanda. She was AWESOME! We ordered drinks and decided on our meal and just enjoyed ourselves. They even gave us an anniversary card signed by the entire staff! It was so sweet! We had a great dinner, delicious food, drinks, dessert and the atmosphere was perfect! The manager even took our picture for us before we left! I heart The Melting Pot!!!

I’ve been to 3 different melting pot restaurants so I knew what to expect, but this one was totally fantastic. The whole staff signed a card for us that they gave us upon arrival when the person taking the reservation found out we were on our honeymoon — how sweet is that? The location looks to be pretty new and its decorated nicely. The food was fantastic(it always is!) and the service was impeccable. I would definitely recommend this if you like fondue! :)

I loved it!!! the ambiance, the service, and the food! We had a full on dinner course w/the girls and it was soo much fun! If you love shabu-shabu, you’ll love this fondue! we got the salads, which were ok… then the artichoke cheese fondue, which was delicious! i love all the fresh fruit(green apple) and the bread!!! then we had meats, chicken, and shrimp to dip in our boiling broth! wow, loved all the different sauces to dip! but the best part was the chocolate fondue! the peanut butter swirled was great! when we’re back in maui, we’re coming back, unless they move to oahu!!!
