Minit Medical Urgent Care and Cosmetics Lahaina

My wife was having severe stomach problems that she was trying to write off as nothing on our vacation, but she finally relented and agreed to see a doctor. We got to Minit Medical as they opened, and the folks checking us in were pleasant and thorough.
Dr. Dean ultimately examined my wife and was able to determine that she has an ulcer AND a bacterial infection in the stomach. According to my wife, he was kind and thorough, and his diagnosis appeared to be spot on. She followed his instructions (no food the first day, bland food afterward) and took the antibiotic he prescribed. In two short days, the pain was gone, and she was able to fully enjoy our vacation, including hiking, paddleboarding, and the great restaurants Maui has to offer. Our vacation was saved, and more importantly, Rachel’s stomach pain was quickly taken care of. We can’t thank the people at MMU enough for the care she received.
They also accepted our insurance (Blue Cross/​Blue Shield), which was nice.

I was having major abdominal pain and GI symptoms while on my vacation to the point where my husband said I needed to see a doctor. I am stubborn and don’t like to go to the doctor for any reason, but I knew that my illness was verrrrry close to ruining our week on Maui. My visit with Dr. Dean was outstanding, and I am so grateful to the staff at Minit Medical for taking great care of me. Dr. Dean took the time to diagnose my illness and explain my treatment. Overall, for someone who avoids the doctor, it was an excellent experience, and my vacation has been completely saved.

Dr. Dean has great bedside manner and always able to get in to see him urgent is wonderful being on this side of the island. My oldest son had an emergency puka from a nail and Dr. Gave him a tetanus shot quick. Youngest son needed stiches on hand and we laughed and enjoyed the not so fun experience simply because the Dr’s great attitude. I highly recommend this facility to everyone not just for emergencies. I found a new easy medical facility to go to on West Side with out all the drama, parking, lines and poor front desk attitudes we have all faced on Maui.
This comment excludes Rainelle and the ladies in Lahaina MMG. I love them…

On the good side it the line was short and it took me only 30 min to see the doctor.
Went in with a bad sore throat doctor was nice but could have checked it more thoroughly. said he doesn’t see anything. Been 4 days since and I’m still sick, which makes me think he would have seen somthing if he’d look better.
Make sure you know how much each procedure costs you might be surprised when it’s time to pay.

Talk about fantastic service starting with the receptionist. I’m amazed at how well accommodating Mandy was and her willingness to go and verify our insurance information to see whether it is accepted or not. She was super friendly, thorough, and helpful. Wait times are minimal and staff are super efficient. We left after 30min of evaluation and with a prescription that was sent to walgreens within 5 min of our departure (received a call). Very happy with the service and wholeheartedly recommend over doctors on call! (Read my review on why you should avoid them. Worth your time)

So glad this clinic is here! Dr. Dean and his team were friendly and professional and took care of my medical needs after I had to unexpectedly walk in for antibiotics. I had forgotten my insurance card in my hotel room but they allowed me to put the bill on a credit card temporarily until I brought my insurance card in the next day. Also, really appreciated the fact that they had the medication in their clinic and I didn’t have to make another stop at a pharmacy. Would definitely recommend them and go again if needed!

Dr. Dean was great with our 4 year old. He gained her trust quickly and was able to diagnose her strained hip. We had no wait and were very impressed with the staff. They also take anthem blue cross. Yeeeeew! Dr. Dean is the man. Bring him something purple.

Easy and affordable. My kid needed some glue or stitches after a pull up bar fell on his head. We got in fast, no wait. Great place for a minor emergency. Way better than waiting 5 hours at Maui medical.

The staff was quick, kind, efficient and professional. No ka oi in west Maui for when you need a Doctor!

Apparently if you’re on vacation in Hawaii and need a refill of a prescription that’s considered by Hawaii a «controlled substance» you can’t get it. So instead, you have to go here. They check you out, talk to your doctor, make sure you and your prescription is legit, have your doctor fax the info, and write you a new scrip. It’s not cheap, but if its necessary, which, if you go here, it is, it takes off a lot of stress. High point? Dr. Jackovitz (I think that was his name). He’s super rad. Understanding, compassionate and smart. Highly recommend this place!

This was one of the best experiences with urgent care I’ve ever had… And I work at a hospital emergent department. I got stung by a bee and my face started dwelling up. After OTCs failed I googled urgent care clinics. They took my insurance without a hassel and I was out the door with prescription already filled by them. Over all I spent less than an hour so I could get right back to my vacation.

My husband stepped on a sea urchin and his foot got infected. We were in and out of Minit Urgent Care with everything we needed in under ten minutes!

I was on vacation and came down with horrible bronchitis. When I got to the urgent care they were so friendly and so quick, the Dr. Was very nice and I started to feel better that afternoon, they truly saved my vacation.

Wish I can give this place negative stars. Malpractice at its finest. My boyfriend and I are visiting from Los Angeles and he had a bad case of strep throat, so we visited this local urgent care facility for treatment. He informed the doctor and the nurse of his allergies (penicillin & amoxicillin), and they accidentally injected him with roceferin (which is in the same family of drugs as penicillin) instead of the steroid they were supposed to inject him with to relieve his inflammation. After realizing their mistake, they had to give him an additional injection (Benadryl) to counteract the roceferin, and then they gave him the steroid injection, which was the only shot he was supposed to receive initially. In all, he received 3 injections and was feeling worse than when he first came in, because now one of his legs were numb (caused by the lidocaine in the roceferin) from the injection he received in his butt. They apologized for their mistake and said not to worry since they won’t «charge extra» for the additional injections (which we shouldn’t be responsible to begin with) and that the numbness will subside in 5 – 10 minutes (which was actually took 3 – 4 hours). The next day he had bruises on both sides of his butt due to the injections and had a lot of pain for more than 2 weeks! At least his illness went away before that. But even after 3 months, he still has a hard bump on his butt from the side he received the injections of the steroid & Benadryl. His primary doctor stateside said it was due to poor mixing of the drugs and to constantly rub the bump every day until it goes away. Wow, what a HORRIBLE experience!

Last week I needed to get an ultrasound to rule out a DVT. The receptionist searched out the alternatives for me and called back to tell me that I had to trek over to the hospital, that the local alternatives were unavailable. All that in 10 minutes. While I never saw/​spoke with a doctor, I didn’t need to; her help was all I needed, and she provided it quickly and well.

Seriously… who wants to go to Urgent Care when they are visiting Maui? No one right?! Unfortunately we had to make a quick trip here when my daughter started complaining about her ear itching her really bad. We were getting ready to head back to the mainland in a couple days and I didn’t want to mess with a hurting ear with the plane ride and all.
We managed to call and get an appointment within an hour. They even accepted our insurance there (Anthem Blue Cross) so we only had to pay our co-​pay and not have to deal with reimbursements.
There was a medical assistant and a doctor there. Both were amazingly sweet. My daughter’s last doctors visit was her 5 year check up that required 4 shots so she was recently terrorized. The assistant and doctor were both amazing. She ended up having a recessed ear drum, not blown but they prescribed her steroids for a few days so that it didn’t burst during our flight.
Great service here. I would recommend to anyone!

Went on vacation getting over a sickness… it snowballed on me. Showed up at the clinic right when they opened and I was the first patient seen. Was checked in by the nurse… I have no idea what her name is, I was pretty sick. She was very pleasant and professional. Explained that they did not accept any insurance other than Blue Cross but explained that they would provide me with all of the paperwork to submit for reimburse… no issue.
Into an exam room, vitals taken and then Dr. Gupton came in… Very fast but deliberate exam determined I had throat, ear, sinus infection. This is where Dr. Gupton scored huge points with me… he prescribed me a steroid shot so that I could almost immediately start to feel better! Along with the shot I was also prescribed antibiotics.
I was in and out of the office in 18 minutes and never once did I feel that I was rushed even the slightest… Dr. Gupton was just efficient!
I highly recommend this clinic for anyone in the area in need of an urgent care facility!

my wife awoke with severe vertigo. Walgreens pointed us to this office. We were seen with 20 minutes, a full work up, some meds prescribed — *** a note written to our airline recommending early boarding *** and a really decent bill.
Dr Paul Park was great. Took his time and explained everything.
Very impressed.

This past April’s Maui trip was one of our most surreal trip ever… twice we came in here … for the sis and for the nephew.
First: my sis’s sinus /​allergies = the attack of the VOG. She was seen by Dr. Gupton who was friendly and gave her the necessary drugs to alleviate her pains.
Second: the nephew’s ear issue… He was seen by Dr. Dean and he was very understanding of the nephew’s fear of doctors. Plus the nurse on staff that day was über friendly and literally catered to our needs.
If you’re in Lahaina and you need a doctor to check out whatever … this is the spot. I just don’t know how much it’ll cost you… but hey… thank goodness for PPO right?
