Despite the reviews I came here with an open mind due to the fact that the reviews were so long ago. The first thing I did upon arrival was use the ladies room. It looks like it might have been swept up or wipe down but not scrubbed or the floor mopped. The sink counters had a lot of soap stains that just wiped right off of the paper towel. Our waitress was sufficient, not warm and friendly but she did her job. And after giving us our bill, went and sat down and eat her breakfast. I felt like I was being rude because we were in a rush to get out of there so I had to interrupt her meal. No writing the food is going to depend on what people like. I’m a home for I love her and it’s very hard to find good home fries in the area. Most people just chrome on a grill and throw spices on top of you asked for them to be spicy. The waitress said they were plain so I asked to add onions. They were thrown on top. They were also very squishy and my over easy eggs we’re a little tough but still had some runny yolk. On a good note it looks like they can hold events because they’re big enough for separate rooms. I asked if they were busy during Saturday and Sunday mornings when they have their buffet and she said they really don’t get too busy. Cleanliness is very important in a restaurant. Normally I could — 2 stars just for that because you never know what else there skimping on if they’re skimping on the cleaning. I didn’t want to write them less than three stars because my taste in someone else’s taste might be different but I really didn’t like the food, the friendliness of the place did not make me feel welcome and I don’t think we will be back.

Visiting my brother’s family and came here for breakfast for the first time. Waitress was disinterested and inefficient. Took forever to come over, forever to get our drinks and ditto on the food delivery. At one point she refilled three of the four coffees at our table and when the pot was empty left and didn’t return to refill the fourth. The diner was NOT busy at all and it was not during the breakfast buffet — we had three kids and four adults — no kids menu so when the kids ordered, instead of just charging us for a standard breakfast meal at $ 6.50 or less, she charged us for each individual side the kids ordered. «He didn’t want toast or home fries so that wasn’t a meal.» So you charge us more because the children ordered less food? I was FLOORED. Every diner waitress I have encountered everywhere have been familiar with their own menu and make suggestions for what meals to get based on your breakfast order should it be a hungover morning or in this case a kid. Horrible customer service. And the food… forgettable to gross. The butter was like margarine or some chemical outer space butter and was nasty. The pancakes were below the level of McDonalds pancakes. Weird texture — not good. One of the kids complained it tasted weird and was tearing at the pancakes with his knife to pull it apart. I thought he was being a pain until I received my pancakes and they wouldn’t cut through with a butter knife. I decided they weren’t worth the extra calories to try to finish them. This area needs a breakfast place with fresh local Ingredients to compete with the horrible customer service and low quality food. RE: OWNER’S RESPONSEBELOW that came in five months after my visit so I assume he doesn’t recall my experience(and has no reason to as I never interacted with him and we paid our whole bill plus a 20% tip to our rude and inefficient waitress). What are you talking about 3 different meats and paying for friend’s order? I was with my family, nobody ordered three different meats, just standard breakfast combos and had no problem paying. Your comment makes no sense in relation to my experience there. Your example about McDonald’s meals supports what I was complaining about, not contradicts it. An example — my nephew ordered eggs and bacon and a juice and instead of charging for the breakfast meal we were charged for the eggs, bacon and juice separately which ended up being more money because the 6 year old kid didn’t order toast and potatoes? Same deal with my 4 yr old niece and my brother. It took FOREVER to get our food and there were maybe 3 other patrons there. And the pancakes were not edible. Bad service, bad food. I would be complaining if it were free because the food and service was bad. I wouldn’t be complaining at all if the food and service was good. And your follow up to the complaint — also bad. My brother lives up there full time with his family and owns two rental properties — guess where they are telling people to not bother trying? Maybe if you put more effort into your quality of food and service as trying to rebuke bad reviews or make excuses, you wouldn’t have such below average reviews. It takes A LOT of bad for me to write a one star review. I prefer to use Unilocal as a way to help businesses and praise good service, but my family’s experience was so bad at this place.

Good local eating establishment. Portions are ample and the food is always good. Breakfast is my favorite but the soup and salad bar during the day is good as well. The atmosphere is easy going and the service is friendly.

Came here with a friend while looking for property in Lake Ariel. It was a late lunch. We were seated promptly and our server was attentive. She took our drink and food order quickly. It was not a long wait time for the food to arrive. The food was tasty. My burger was juicy and tasty. My fries were lacking they seemed almost stale. I would come back and try again when in the area.

I’ve been here twice, and the service was very friendly and fast. Unfortunately, I was not very impressed by the food. Much of the it was very generic. Sides seemed canned and main courses were pretty bland. There are other family restaurants in the area with much better food.

Arrived. Waited for someone to seat us way too long considering there were a ton of tables open. The lady finally arrived to seat us and was not very friendly. We sat down and waited more than a few minutes for the waitress to arrive. Our waitress was even less friendly than the original lady. She took our drink order and we ordered our food. The food took a while to come out. I ordered the breakfast wrap and it was tiny! Maybeeeee 1 slice of bacon in it. I had to order an extra side of it. The waitress also came over to refill my coffee and there was only enough to fill it halfway. She left and did not return with a new pot. She was either completely inexperienced(which I highly doubt), or just completely does not care at all(more likely the case).

The food here is standard diner fair. Which is usually the appeal of eating at a diner. The buffet is not appetizing and uninteresting. My comment has to do with Mrs. Shelley, one of the owners and she often waits tables. She is very unfriendly. She acts as though waiting on you is an inconvenience. When my family was there the last time, she lofted the silverware so much it bounced across the table. That was the LAST time we will dine there. My recommendation for lunch is Snap Shots down the road, for dinner try Crazy Fingers.

Nice, local hometown restaurant. Weekend breakfast buffet is nice. Its nothing hugely fancy but a great selection of food perfectly priced and most of it is good quality. Always friendly staff. The regular menu is consistently good. Nice selection on the menu.

My wife and I come sometimes for breakfast. Food is good, the price is right, but the service varies quite a lot depending on your luck. By the way this restaurant is listed as $$$$, which to me means ‘very expensive’. But I think that is inaccurate. Thier website indicates the following prices, for example: 4 oz hamburger($ 3.79), 16 chicken wings($ 7.99), baked haddock($ 11.95) and chicken Parm($ 11.95; Senior portion $ 8.95!). These prices are quite reasonable and completely in line with other local restaurants such as Kundla’s, Charcoal Chuck’s BBQ and Trio’s. If they are $$ then this restaurant should definitely be $$ too.

Came across Shelly’s after we had left our weekend getaway, and they offered an breakfast buffet. It was ayce for less then $ 10! Food was good, and fresh. Eggs, sausages, bacon, French toast, pancakes, salads, soups. The potato fries were awesome! They would also come around and ask how you want your eggs. The staff was extremely nice, and caring. Always asking you if you needed something and how things were. Great family owned vibe at this place! A+++

I’m sorry, I am having a hard time finding the appeal of this place. The buffet looked unappetizing so we ordered off the menu. The waitress filled our order by going over to the buffet and told us it «would take a long time» if she didn’t do it that way. Isn’t that the idea? Turns out it didn’t matter — we waited forever for our breakfast and it was cold. Our waitress was unfriendly and this was accentuated by her friendliness and speediness directed at a regular behind us. We won’t be returning.

We have only been once. But overall it was a good experience. minus the creepy guy who kept starring. but that’s not the restaurants fault. lol Great tasting food. Meatloaf, burgers, and assorted food was ordered. All good(salad bar was a little lacking though. could add ranch to the dressings! :)) Great prices Nice staff(the kids were given suckers after they ate their meals!) Clean restrooms They offer frequent visitor coupons and specials They take credit We would return for sure!

We were in the area and stopped in. The food was ok. However, I was creeped out about the greasiness of the desert menu and the inch of dust on the window sill next to our table. Made me wonder what else they let slide. 2 stars for décor & cleanliness.

I seem to end up at this restaurant any time I visit my family in the area. I absolutely love their breakfast! I recommend the #9 and add some sausage gravy to the top! Everything I have had here is very tasty and the service is good.

This place is ok if you do not know any other local spots. If you do, it lacks. Staff is very kind and attentive. Food is eh and prices are a bit much for what they offer. I will definitely be frequenting Ron’s down the road from now on!
