What a wonderful concept. A quick grab-and-go if you need it. Or you can sit and enjoy your meal right there. I went with the chicken marsala, and some mashed potatoes. They both went well together. The chicken marsala was available in large portion only. It would be great it a small portion. My friend bought the cauliflower brulee. I took a bite out of the dish, and I was amazed that it tasted so good. I never knew something that tasty could be made from something as bland as cauliflower. I will definitely be back for more.

I have my previous review replied with the best customer service gesture I have seen. Thanks Wisma! Save my card… I am coming to town!

Great little shop, with a wide selection of items. Had a custom made sandwich(steak wrap) that was great. Perfect place to grab something to go if your catching the train.

I stop here pretty often during the workweek for my lunch. It’s a little on the pricier side(my salad and drink is usually around $ 13, give or take), but the food is good, fresh, and made with local ingredients so it is well worth it. The staff is lovely; décor is charming. My only complaint is the disappearance of the grilled chicken and romaine salad. I’ve been settling for the chicken and cranberry, which is fine, but it’s not the same. Unbreak my heart, John des Rosiers, and restore the grilled chicken and romaine salad to its rightful place on the menu! Sorry – I get dramatic about salad. Anyway, well worth the stop if you are in Lake Bluff.

Everything was top quality. Nice gals behind the counter. We did the custom sandwiches.

Wisma is the perfect spot to pick up a last minute dinner to take home or a snack for your train ride home. They have a wonderful selection of homemade pastas, pizzas and sandwiches. Many options for vegetarians too! If you need a beer for the train they also carry a terrific craft beer selection. I tried a great ginger beer, totally crisp and sweet! Lastly, try the sweets. I almost walked out not trying one. Thankfully, I grabbed a vanilla bean cheesecake. It was the best cheesecake I have had in a long time. My only regret is that I didn’t grab two pieces. If you are in the area give Wisma a try, it is totally worth it.

It has some cool healthy dishes, good wine and beer. The drinks are really well priced, the dishes can be on the expensive side. If you want to dine-in, you’ll have to microwave the food yourself. On Fridays and Saturdays, the place can be busy, given that the sitting is limited, plan on taking the stuff to go. Good service, helpful staff and some interesting brews and snacks. Try it out.

How am I just now writing a review for Wisma? Wisma is one of the only places I know of where you can get a very affordable yet quality glass of wine. Seriously, many of the glasses are only $ 3 – 4 each. The employees usually have good knowledge of the wine and offer tastings. This a spot to have a few glasses of wine with friends or to buy a bottle to bring home. On lazy study days, my friends and I will use their free wifi, buy a bottle, and get our study on. Don’t like wine? They have a variety of craft beers also at an affordable price. Hungry? They have an assortment of cheese and crackers that have all been paired perfectly with the wine. Wisma also has gourmet frozen pizza, frozen meals, and soup that you can either bring home or heat up on the spot. These are a little on the expensive side. Wisma closes pretty early so this is when I hop on over to the Lake Bluff Brewery right down the block.

Wisma is the spot in Lake Bluff for getting a quick gourmet lunch/dinner to go(or preferably for me) for an inexpensive-yet-excellent glass of wine or craft beer. Their beer selection is updated regularly, and you’ll find some truly excellent craft bottles and cans for the base price of $ 3. The food runs a bit more expensively, but you do get good sized portions and are able to heat up the food on the spot or take it to go. Being a poor graduate student at the local medical university, I greatly appreciate the excellent service, inexpensive drinks, and selection of tasty foods.

I had heard so many great things about Wisma and I finally dropped by to try it out myself. After much deliberation I decided on the Chicken Pesto Lasagna for lunch. For something that’s microwaved, I felt like the lasagna was fantastic, especially the chicken which remained well-flavored with pesto and very juicy. That being said, I just wish there was MORE of the lasagna and chicken and less of the cheese and oil. I kid you not, it was like eating lasagna swimming in a lake of oil and drenched with cheese(see picture). Just too overwhelming on the palate. Even after I got home and dumped out all the excess oil, it still felt like too much! But as always, you need dessert and the Cherry Almond Bread Pudding more than made up for lunch. It had the perfect consistency and a great texture too. Not as sweet as you might expect. Awesome discovery. So delicious! I will be back just to pick this up again. Wisma is a very cute place and has a great atmosphere but my lunch selection was not for me. Prices are steep but I wouldn’t mind coming by for a different meal next time. Staff are also very friendly here.

Cute little place to eat. I love the atmosphere here. It’s very cozy and comfortable. Although the food requires reheating, it’s still absolutely delicious. The wine and beer selections are great, as well. The workers are all friendly and helpful and offer good advice if you don’t know what to get. They recently remade their menu and, sadly, took away their indian curry, but upon suggestion, I tried the thai curry and it was just as amazing. I’d definitely come here more often if I didn’t live so far.

It’s not worth a buck even. It’s Walmart frozen food that you pay $ 10 for! It’s tastes like all other microwaved frozen food.

The concept is a little odd in that you pick a prepared sandwich or entrée and then awkwardly microwave if you plan to dine in. I agree with other reviews that the food is good — it’s fresh and delicious — but the concept is weird. C’mon — I’m sure the majority of people who come here wouldn’t be caught dead eating a microwaved breakfast sandwich from 7 – 11. And yet… Alas, they seem to do well, and the sandwiches are good, so who am I to argue?

I’m sure this review will get filtered, because there is no way this is a 4 star place as the other reviews show. Wisma is a good concept. If you were 20 yrs old and on a college campus, a place where you can get pre-packaged MICROWAVED food, would be a good option. If you live in the LF, LB, HP area, I’m guessing that you, like myself don’t want to microwave sausage and peppers or microwave gulf shrimp with pasta. It’s a high class atmosphere, that gets blown by the cheap microwaved products. I would go here for a glass of wine, and maybe a salad.

I had a groupon for this location and decided to give it a try again. I had visited their previous location in Libertyville a few years back and like their offerings. This is a quaint location with a few tables inside and out. You can drink a glass of wine, have a bottle of beer, and warm up whatever food you purchase there. Yes everything is cold — it’s made as an alternative to fast/take out food. The ingredients are fresh, natural, and organic where applicable. If nothing else I feel like it is definitely way better than eating a frozen meal or eating some crazy greasiness from a fast food chain. They have some special artisan types of cheeses and meats as well. Good selection including vegetarian options as well. They also have a location in Chicago that I plan to check out as well.

The first time you walk in and look around you think, wow, $ 12 for a microwavable meal. Feeling frivolous, you decide to spend $ 12 on said microwavable meal and decide to grab a glass of wine to consume while your meal heats up. You sit down after your interaction with the nice staff and take your first bite. You come back every week for the next three months.

If I were to make a list compiling the things I love about Lake Bluff, Wisma would for sure be on that list. I don’t know where it would fall on the list, because downtown Lake Bluff is the American Dream all wrapped into a square mile. Ashley and I first experienced Wisma on a walk around the town square. We were greeted by friendly employees, who asked us if we needed any help. They weren’t pushy at all, just saying hi to let us know they were there to help. All of the prepared foods look delicious. They have kitchen appliances so you can heat up the food you just bought, and wine and beer by the glass or bottle. The best thing I like about Wisma is the $ 2 beers. Right next door, Lake Bluff Brewing Company is creating a quality product, but at ~$ 6/glass. Wisma offers $ 2 craft beer bottles, one of the best deals I have seen on the North Shore. We still have yet to try the food, but if it tastes anything like the service and cuteness of this little market, I’m sure its perfect!

Great lunch option! Restaurant quality to-go…or stay and eat in a charming setting. Shrimp and chicken with rice and roasted veggies is delicious! Make sure you try the amarena cherries in syrup(they also make a vanilla bean ice cream with those cherries swirled in).

A delightful discovery made while attending one of Lake Bluff’s summer concerts. This cute and thoughtfully laid out shop seems to have it all– a wonderful selection of beverages, prepared food and little noshes to take out. They even have corkscrews and bottle openers readily available if you wish to open and enjoy your purchase immediately. The staff is warm and friendly without being intrusive, questions about beverage selections are easily answered if you have any. I will certainly be stopping here on the way to Ravinia in the future!!!
