Autocross Performance & Muffler

warning, the owner of this place sells used crap cars. I could give 0 star.
Never coming back anymore to this place.

I was instantly greeted by JR. He was friendly and knowledgeable. I explained to him what I was looking to achieve and he made a few suggestions. Although his fabricator seemed to lack much experience doing exhausts he took his time and double checked everything. The price was higher than I was hoping to spend but I am very pleased with the results.

Run. Run fast. I went in for a simple 30 min job of rerouting a muffler over about 6″ and adding about 2 ft of 2.5″ piping. I explained what I wanted they wanted to charged $ 250 which is twice the cost of average. We agreed on a price of $ 150. They took my money up front before they would start the car which was the first. When I checked the progress the installer went off the original plan and stated «I found a way to do this with in your budget». He decided to cut a bolt of my car!!! And started an install we did not talk about to try and cut corners. I told them it was completely unacceptable. 4 hours later. Yes 4 hours I got frustrated my car was still on the lift and they were scrambling like they were confused. They rushed and put my car on the ground and backed my car up against the bushes. No one asked for me to check the work as every other exhaust company has in the past and ignored me. No thanks, nothing. After inspection of work. They still did not even do what I asked, every weld has 4 – 5 holes, the tips don’t even line up where they are supposed to, they used piping off an old customers car, and they used threaded bolts (yes bolts) for the exhaust hangers like they dug through a bucket or something… It’s a complete mess. I won’t even drive the car with this mess on it. Honestly I don’t think these guys know what they are doing at all. The owner explained they just bought this business and was more interested in pitching me a partnership than anything. He is a know it all wheeler dealer type, likes to over talk you. The installer was nice at first but became unfriendly and flustered as soon as he started (honestly I feel it was his first time doing an exhaust), the other poor guy that got talked into a partnership is probably the nicest guy I ever met. To bad he is getting takin for a ride. Stay away. Seriously. You’ve been warned

JR and his crew at Autocross were absolutely fantastic. They were able to help me the same day and they were not nearly as expensive as I expected based on other shops estimates.

They are much more affordable than any other place you can find. I wasn’t given any misleading information, and they spent the entire day with my car, fixing an issue that ended up being more serious than initially thought. At most other places, the amount of time they spent trying to fix the issue would’ve cost an easy $ 1000, if not more. These guys didn’t charge anywhere near that amount!
I highly recommend coming to these guys if you need muffler work done or pretty much anything performance related.
They will seriously walk you through it all, letting you know what exactly needs to be done, instead of doing it first and trying to charge you for it later. In fact, they’ll show you the issue your car has. You can see them doing the work. They don’t hide a thing.
I’ve gone to places where you struggle trying to see anyone working under your car. The Autocross guys will let you watch them work and answer any questions you may have.
I’ll be coming back here whenever I need something done that I can’t do myself.

Wanted to put my cold air intake on so I went on Unilocal and saw the reviews about this place so decided to try them out. Was so glad I did because these guys are so knowledgeable and knew exactly what to do. Everything went about as smoothly as it possibly could, and the best part was after I left they actually called me to ask me how my car was running, and to offer to come back and try something different if I didn’t like it. Really great shop, good honest guys working there, definitely a diamond in the rough thanks again boys!

This guy’s know what they’re doing. I took in in my 1985 Celica that was in Need Of a muffler, I was in and out in less than an hour with a new muffler tip and muffler for way less than I expected to pay. Will be coming back for my car needs. Thanks

I absolutely loved this shop! I cant say enough amazing things about them. I was skeptical at first never having had an exhaust done on a vehicle but they reassured me several times. They all three answered my questions with out hesitation and were very informative. They didnt try to rip us off and told us about all the different options and helped us choose what was best for us. The price was unbeatable and we got right in they stayed late for us. I highly recommend them to anyone!

I drove 80 miles, round-​trip, to get a catalytic converter replaced at Autocross Performance & Muffler because of great recommendations and I’m not a bit sorry — -I would drive 200 miles for these guys. Their attentiveness on the phone before I came in, their efficiency, the price, the quality of the work and their overall customer care is rare indeed in any business these days, much less the auto repair business.
If you are in Riverside, SB, San Diego or even Orange County, get your work done here. They are way above the rest in EVERY category!!!

I went in there with my challenger and honestly I didn’t know much about how to make it sound good or what to do. John, the owner, was extremely helpful and made it so simple to me as to what sounds great. Well I left my car there and when I went back to pick it up they were just finishing it up. Once they finished they turned it on and man it sounded like a beast! It has a deep rich idle rumble and when I open it up it sounds like how an American muscle car should sound. I am extremely happy with it and I HIGHLY recommend them. John is an amazing person and a great help. I will definitely do more business with them and refer many people over.

Great store, friendly employees. Replaced my catalytic converter in under an hour for a great price. Highly recommend :)

Saved a ton of money and my 99 Mercedes has never sounded better, would highly recommend.
