Excellent food. Fresh and nicely presented, especially considering its a lunch plate. Great, attentive staff, and very authentic fresh food.

This place is expensive, $ 11.95 for lunch, but they have the best nan(flat bread) ever! The size of a small pizza, it is warm, toasted, thick, and delicious. I ordered the combination kabob plate. It came with 4 pieces of chicken, and two pieces of lamb. Very moist and tasty, on two different beds of balsamic rice. Also you get your choice of three soups, I had the lentil, and a shirazi salad. Add a fountain drink for $ 1.15. One bad hitch, is if you pay with a credit card, they have you decide to tip, BEFORE, you are served. I don’t like this as a practice. This place is hidden underneath the Arthur Murray dance studio, next door to the ever popular Slater 50⁄50. They were nearly empty at noon. My wife told me not to go here because when they opened they sent out a flyer with a sexy woman posing with a kabob like she was Donna Summer with a microphone. LOL Went to this place, and not a slutty woman in sight. Shows what happens when my wife tells me not to do something.

I love this place! I’ve been here twice already. It’s a bit pricy(not outrageously pricy) but the food speaks for itself; the kabob is sooo delicious. My favorite is the beef kabob, and the naan is amazing too. It’s cooked fresh in their tandoor mmm. To the reviewer below me, Rohlin A., if you want to be «politically correct,» Afghanistan is NOT in the Middle East, nor does it fall in the category of Indian/Pakistani/Bengali so I wouldn’t ding them for marking«Mediterranean.» The food is Afghan for sure, but they use some Indian spices in some of the vegetable side dishes. Big deal lol, it’s still good! I’ll definitely be back. I just wish the restaurant was in a more poppin’ location so that more people would see it. I love Food Factory Grill!

What a great place for a fast lunch or a family dinner. Nice staff and the owner and son work together. The food was fresh and clean spices. Prices were great and I think I might have them cater my next social media training.

Great kebab place with good food and great service. Got the combo kebab plate and the chicken and beef were both good. It’d be nice if they gave a little more rice with the meal but otherwise it tasted great and I liked the mushroom curry sauce. Took my wife and daughter and the manager gave us a free desert with homemade ice cream with rose water and pistachios. Probably the best ice cream I’ve had in years. It was hard to tell what kind of food this place has from the road since«Food Factory» made me think it was American food or a burger joint. Glad we got past that and gave it a try. :)

The food has gotten worse at the Food Factory Grill. The mushroom curry used to taste so fresh but now they make it once in the morning and serve from a jumbo cafeteria tray all day. The other big change is that some customers are asked to pay extra for garlic Naan, at least I was asked to pay extra. I didn’t pay extra and the plain Naan disappointed me. I think they mean well, but to get folks to come back again and again, the food and policies should be dependable. They definately know how to do it right. I had a great meal there once and it inspired me to come back. But now after two visits that left me disappointed, I won’t be back for a year. If they are still in business in a year, I will try again.

I really liked this place. Owners are from the east coast… EXTREMELY nice. The food is a cross between Mediterranean and south Asian. Kabobs are definitely good and the karhai was surprisingly delish. Looking forward to coming back!

The better half and I were looking for a place to eat Saturday night and going down through her bookmarks she came upon the Food Factory Grill. It is listed as a Mediterranean restaurant, but as she started reading the menu to me one thing was becoming abundantly clear, she wasn’t reading me any Mediterranean dishes. The restaurant is a Middle Eastern /Indian fusion restaurant and I am endeavoring to change the classification on Unilocal as I am typing this review. Rohlinism: Don’t fill out incorrect business information, it doesn’t help the business or your fellow Unilocalers. This isn’t a multiple choice test in high school where you have a one in four shot of getting it right, so guessing doesn’t benefit anyone. Outside of one salad and the Yogurt, there is nothing Mediterranean about this restaurant. To show you how far off you were, if it was a multiple choice test with the possible answers being A, B, C or D … you guessed F. We arrived about 7 pm and the place wasn’t that crowded which gave us plenty to time to exam the menu and ask questions. Their fare includes a few salads, Kabob plates or a la carte and Karahis(Pakinstani and North Indian). The Kabob plates come with the choice of protein, veggie curry, basmati rice, nan, house salad and chutni sauce. The protein choices are Chicken(Breast, Thigh or Ground), Lamb, Lamb Rib, Sirloin and Ground Beef, Shrimp, Chapali(Pakistani Ground Spicy Beef) and a Veggie option. The Curry options were Lentil, Chickpea, Spinach and Potato(spicy) and Mushroom(spicy). The workers were kind enough to allow Laina to try the Lentil and Chickpea Curries before making her final choice. Unfortunately, there was some confusion regarding the check-in discount, so I was unable to get the 10% off promised by Unilocal. There seemed to be some genuine confusion(they recently cancelled a Unilocal Deal and I believe they thought the discount was the Unilocal Deal), so I didn’t press the issue. My wife ordered the Sirloin Kabob( ) plate with the Lentil Curry and I selected the Lamb Rib( ) with the Mushroom Curry. The Kabobs are Middle Eastern cuisine, the Curries, Chutni, Nan and Basmati rice are Indian cuisine and the house salad is Afghan cuisine. Where is the Mediterranean influence? Our plates were the were brought out first and both the plates were very good overall. The Sirloin Kabob was cooked medium as requested and the lamb was cooked the same. The Curries were good, but I noticed no difference in the amount of spiciness, even though the Mushroom was supposed to be spicier than the Lentil Curry. The only real disappointment was the house salad, while being fresh, was rather bland tasting. The nan( ) came out fresh from the tandoor and was cooked very nicely. Laina didn’t like the chutni for dipping as much as I did, so she ordered a side of Yogurt for her nan. After I finished my meal, I spent some time talking to the guys being the counter. They showed me their metal encased tandoor oven. I was wondering how they were cooking nan without a tandoor, I didn’t recognize it in its metal enclosure. They told me these were relatively new items and aren’t readily available. We also discussed the restaurant, its inspiration and origin. They were very friendly and forthcoming. I believe the complete bill was about $ 33.00 including(2) fountain drinks, which I found to be a good value. I would definitely come back to this fusion restaurant.

«A little bit of Monica in my life, A little bit of Erica by my side, A little bit of Rita’s all I need, A little bit of Tina’s what I see, A little bit of Sandra in the sun, A little bit of Mary all night long, A little bit of Jessica here I am, A little bit of you makes me your man!» Thank you Lou Bega. Food Factory Grill is somewhat of an innocuous name for this order-at-the-counter, seat yourself and your food will be brought to you new on the California scene restaurant. Mambo Number 5 plays in how exactly? You get a little bit of this, a little bit of that, and then a little bit more of various regional cuisines from Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Greece and other yummy spots. The owners originally had a long run with high Zagat rating in Arlington, VA and are now here in California. Everything is fresh, and made fresh, so your meal will take a bit(think 10 or 15 minutes). It’s worth the wait. I had the Beef Sirloin Kabob, which comes with a veggie curry, basmati rice, nan, house salad and chutni sauce. My loving hubby Rohlin had the Lamb Rib, which comes with same. The veggie curries you have a choice of 4: lentil, garbanzo, spinach/potato & mushroom. I opted after they gave me 2 free samples of both the lentil and garbanzo to go with garbanzo. Rohlin had the mushroom. A side of yogurt was added as I don’t like my nan plain. and Food, Presentation and Portions: Beer sirloin kabob, delicious, cooked medium and good size portion Chickpea curry, tasty, a bit of a kick, but could have used more, but good size Basmati rice, good, but I prefer it a bit more buttery and portion size was a tad small house salad had fresh vibrant colors, good size, but the dressing lacked in flavor Chutni sauce was delicious and refreshing, a bit more should be added to that cup Nan bread was thick soft and delicious, but dry(as of course it actually is) and the Yogurt helped make it extra tasty, but was a basic strained yogurt with pretty much no flavor, some hint of spice would assist and nice size bowl of the yogurt. Food Factory Grill was close to losing another star due to they had a check in Unilocal offer that they would not use, because they stated there was no «code.» Must I really point it out? You should find a way to honor it!!! Luckily for them, we enjoyed our food so much and the staff/owners(?) were very nice and talked to Rohlin quite a bit about food. So maybe I’m being too kind here, but I adore this type of regional food. Tidbits: they are located in that wretched(being used as a term for not the easiest to get into) center on Swartz, off of 5 freeway, in same center as Tommy’s and Slaters 50⁄50. They do catering and some of the other food offerings are samosas, salads, bolani, chapali and karahis(*I want to try the karahi chicken breast, blend of tomatoes, garlic and other spices sizzling in individual iron wok) Hubby and I will definitely be back!

Great food and service. We stumbled across this place because we happened to be nearby. It turns out that this looks to be the CA reincarnation of the Arlington, VA restaurant of the same name that I used to take my kids to when they were still babies. So we just picked up where we’d left off; albeit almost 3000 miles west and more than 10 years later. The naan bread is plentiful and perfectly made. The rice was just right and the curries were great. The kids shared a chicken kabob and gave it a big thumbs up. All around we’re delighted to have found this place, for many reasons.

Found this place via Unilocal’s «Hot New Business». With a name like Food Factory Grill, it is easy to assume that the food is mass produced and lacks soul but it is not. The joint is run by about half a dozen older middle Eastern men who seem to care about what they do. They are hospitable and the food is fresh and tasty. We had the chicken kabob and the veggie curry combo, both with a side of lentil. Everything was delightful. The chicken kabob tastes a bit like tandoori chicken, which was strangely interesting in a good way. The mushroom curry and lentil really hit the spot. The interior décor is discombobulating but with food so good, who’s paying attention?

Being from d.c. I was so pleased to see the food factory made it to the west coast. Tender chicken and lamb and chapli kebabs. Great fresh naan. The green sauce is to die for. Okay you got. Try the place for kebabs.

There seems to be a trendy thing going on right now with Kaboberies, since I’m not so trendy(even though I have holes in my clothes:) I’ve just ignored it. But today I had a craving for some good chicken and salad. This is highly unusual since I generally don’t like salads, so my stomach told my brain to shut-up and I ended up here after a quick Unilocal. They have a really good coupon right now $ 10 for $ 20 on Unilocal so I used that. The place is located by Slater’s 50⁄50 and Tommy’s, not the greatest location for some reason businesses have had a tough go at it in this plaza. The interior is nice and spacious and very clean. They have some newspaper clippings regarding Zagat write ups they’ve had at another location back East, Baltimore or D. C… I don’t know I was too hungry and honestly too lazy to actually read it. A super friendly young guy with a beard took our order and explained things on the menu. Now when I say friendly I don’t mean the kind of friendly you get at a check stand at your local grocery store where they routinely ask how you’re doing and don’t bother to listen to your answer. This guy is genuine. Right off the bat I could tell he has a passion for this business and the food and culture/cultures it represents. I even tipped him! And I’ve never done that at a quick-serve restaurant. I.E. Starbucks: I’m not tipping you for pouring coffee in a cup! Anyway, I just wanted to stare at his smile and hand him my wallet for some reason. Do you get my point? Genuine. I know I used that word already but I’m too lazy to get out my thesaurus. Wow! I am really rambling here… So the FOOD! We ended up with the chicken thigh kabob and the combo kabob(Steak, Chicken breast and thigh), both come with a small cucumber salad, a choice of curried vegetables or curried lentils or chickpeas. He even let us try them before we made a choice and also fresh nan is served on the side. He told us it would be about 12 – 15 mins for the food and like a finely tuned clock I was shoveling food into my mouth in that amount of time. Everything was good. Really good! Our order was enough food to feed two small children and two grown gluttonous adults. The meats were all cooked perfectly and they actually had flavor which in my experience a lot of these Kaboberies leave out(Luna Grill, Darya) The ingredients were all very fresh and of good quality and the nan was outstanding! It was freshly kneaded and grilled, my kids were eating it like it was cake. Also there’s a small cilantro or parsley type of sauce served with your plate that really complemented the grilled meats. To top it off the friendly«genuine» guy who took our order offered us a complementary dessert I believe he called it Fatoohah. I hope that’s not a cuss word I just typed, but I believe that’s what he called it. It’s a rose water ice cream with pistachios, almonds, crushed ice and magic. It was good, the rose water was not overbearing which tends to happen with that ingredient and it wasn’t too sweet, very light and refreshing. This is a good family business you need to support. The food is excellent, the service was more than excellent, the name of the place… not so excellent, Food Factory doesn’t strike me as appetizing, but they did put Grill in there for good measure and that always sounds good. So, if you’ve read this entire rambling review you should find a better way to spend your time, but now that you have you deserve at the very least an excellent Kabob. Enjoy.

Originally we had planned to go to the burger place that is in the same shopping center as Food Factory Grill but the line was out the door! We noticed that this place was new and figured we would try something out of the ordinary and to our surprise it was the best decision we had made! We were warned that it would take more time for the food to be ready since the entrees were made to order. It was fine because we were not too hungry and not in a hurry. The person who took our order was EXTREMELY helpful and gave us tips as to what we could try. We tried 4 different dishes so we would have a variety of dishes to sample. We were not disappointed in the least bit! Everything that everyone had in our party was amazingly tasty and definitely worth a trip! The service was spectacular, the food beyond our expectations and definitely worth a return visit!

Delicious food. The tandori bolani is excellent. Service is good. My only gripe is with their yogurt chutney — it has too much garlic.

Ate here yesterday. It was delicious. I got there around 11am, and ordered the expensive thing. Don’t remember what it was called. The guy said it was going to take 20 minutes because it is made from scratch. It took 20 minutes, but it was really good. I’m going back today!
