Tan At The Islands

I haven’t ever used a tanning salon but I noticed they have cute clothes in there for sale. I’ll definitely go back and buy something again.

I love this place! I get the most amazing color from their top bed and their custom made mystic solution. They also have an airbrush and no contracts! The sweetest staff with cute clothes and jewelry for sale too. They are very knowledgeable with their products and beds they have. I have made this my long term regular tanning salon, I won’t go anywhere else!

This place was absolutely over priced! It’s super hot inside and they wanted $ 250 a month for my wife and I! But hey they offered me 20% off the first month so it would have only came out to 222+ tax. I should have read the other reviews before I wasted my time. We just signed up with rockstar tanning for $ 50 a month for the two of us and they have way better everything plus better prices!

I grabbed a month unlimited tanning on Groupon and had a very pleasant experience on my first visit. The staff is very personable and they didnt try to upsell, the atmosphere is calming and one of the cleanest tanning salons Ive ever seen. I read all of the reviews before going to Tan At the Islands and I completely disagree with all of the negative reviews. The fact of the matter is some people/​customers are just too high maintenance or too impatient and tend to think that the world should stop spinning when they walk through the door. I have news for those folks… The world will continue to spin with or without you!

I love the girls and the Owner here! They are always very Personable and friendly. Always letting me know what the specials are to try to save me some money! The Salon is very clean too!

I went in to try their leg tanning bed because I just need some color on my legs. Everyone was super helpful and friendly and after my session I ended up purchasing an unlimited month. The facilities are clean, well kept and everyone has been friendly!

I love this salon everyone there is so friendly and helpful and that to me makes such a big difference and definitely the reason to keep people coming back month to month. The beds are great and everything is always very clean.

I started coming here a month ago so far it has been a positive experience-​no waiting time to tan, very clean & great quality beds with high powered fans. Sam is a sweetheart & a hard worker who is always very cordial. Thanks again!

BY FAR my favorite tanning salon in all of S. Cal! Cleanliness, professional staff and consistency in customer service keep winning me back every month. The location of the salon is perfect, the doors are always open for a perfect cool California breeze to make its way into the salon.

‚The owner Randy got involved and worked with us to upgrade to a much cooler bed. Randy and the his employees are all very nice and helpful. This was just an unfortunate understanding. There is no pressure to sell you a contract and it is well maintained and clean.

I really like this please I do not tan a lot so when I first walked into this place and was greeted right away the girls are super friendly they are very thorough they show you around the place and explain how each tan bed works which ones are better which ones are not but they don’t push you to get the most expensive, same thing with their products they explained all the products to you but they are not pushy they were able to give me a good price on everything and they still remained friendly unlike other places where they push you to get the most expensive and if you don’t get it they just act rude. Overall I definitely recommend this place if you ever need a tan

Bait and switch Warning ** if you buy one of their online coupons make sure you read the fine print. Bought a coupon online but I was told I had to pay an additional $ 59 for the tanning package because I tanned there once 5 years ago and the coupon was only good for first time customers. Beds looked outdated and the sales lady was very pushy. Will request refund of my Groupon and never go back to that place. Now have to find another local tanning salon so I can get some color for my summer trip to mexico.

I had tanned a couple places before and had horrible experiences so I was a little skeptical coming into tan at the islands. Let me just say I was blown away! They were so welcoming! They showed me their salon and instantly I noticed no clean they are! They worked with me on prices and I signed up for a month to get a base tan for the summer. Another HUGE plus is that they are contract free! Which is so rare for salons around this area. I highly recommend them!

I went in about a week ago and the girl behind the counter didn’t even realize I walked in. She was too busy arguing with someone on the phone. Didn’t seem too nice to that client at all. The parking there is horrible. The prices are way too high and they don’t seem to like it if you have a Unilocal or Groupon. There was a «but you need to buy this or do this» in order for it to be honored. Then she was like so what do you want to do? Not a pleasant atmosphere. I’d rather be pale then go there again.

This establishment needs major help. I walked in the door spotting a cute summer blouse I was planning to buy as well as a pretty necklace. The man at the counter asked for my drivers license to enter my information and as soon as I gave it to him he decided to take a lengthy phone call on speaker phone where I could hear a woman discussing her personal business loud and clear. This was then followed by him telling her he was too busy to talk to her any more and told her she would need to call back later. He hung up and proceeded to check in another tanner while I was still waiting… after looking up my account he stated how very very long it had been: aka MANY YEARS! since I had been in. I told him I had a Groupon for 2 tans and he proceeded to tell me I could not use it and I would have to get a refund from Groupon because it is for new customers only (hello, live customer that hasn’t been in forever?!). I had given him my old ID with my maiden name to find my account and could have just as easily given him my new married name and used the Groupon, but chose to be honest. He told me he could try to give me a ‘good deal’ but by this time I was so irritated he not only lost my 2 tan business, but he also lost my business for more tanning after the Groupon was completed since I am going on a trip to the Seychelle islands this year. In addition, he lost my business on the $ 100 I was going to spend in his boutique and forget ever giving him any referrals! My husband and I own several businesses as professionals in the community and I was shocked at how poorly he handled this opportunity to grow his business. Clearly he must need it if he is offering Groupons. He stated he WAS the Groupon guy in his business, but handles it terribly. I recommend RUN and use another business as this one does not deserve your money or business. TERRIBLY MANAGED.

So pleased with this place! My former tanning salon closed their doors and suggested that we go here. I am so happy with that suggestion. I am welcomed with a smile, friendly people, fast service and it is so clean! I had never used a «leg tanner» before and I love it! Finally dark legs after just a few visits and just in time for spring! No contracts, no pushy sales people and specials to keep costs down! Highly recommend trying it out.

Very friendly people. Cheep and outdated equipment, not to mention the product as well. Having to stand for 30 min for ur tan to dry in front of two cheep window fans zip tied together is not worth the money or time. I normally go to OC tan 2 u, in rsm, but they were closed on a Sunday. Went to this place hoping to get a nice spray tan before my honeymoon. Needless to say, I was hiding under layers because of the orange blotch job. I am so glad I never took my bridal party to this place. Will never stir away from oc 2 u tan again. Not worth the money! I’m in and out in 15 min in RSM.

I told her i will think about it and come back … Usually people get attitude when you say this, but with the big smile she wished me a great day. The next day or two i went back to sign up for their special in Groupon. After i asked for their special, she patiently told me the difference and i chose the one was the beat matches my need! What a personal assistance and what a character ! And she knows me every time i walk in by name even though i dont have a usual name … Thanks Sam for such an great service … :)))

I have recently started tanning here and let me say… I have never had a better tanning experience! This is a family owned business and you can absolutely feel it– the owners are so helpful and truly care about their clients. I have pretty white skin but they took great care of me and I’m finally getting a good tan! The beds are so clean and there’s never a wait. Plus half of their store is a clothing boutique with super cute clothes and jewelry. I will never tan anywhere else but tan at the islands!

I am so glad I choose Tan at the Islands! Randy and Samantha are incredibly polite, approachable and professional. The owner Melodie is very involved with the salon. The beds are high quality, I have never ever seen even one bulb out in any of the beds, and the salon is clean and kept in nice condition.
I have been tanning here for over a month and will continue to stay here for my tanning needs. They worked with me to figure out a package that best suited me and my budget, there was no pressure and no contract.
I am happy with the results of my tan, the quality of the beds, the salon, and the pleasant staff. Oh another added bonus is there is ample parking.
