Came here for my sister’s birthday during happy hour(from 12 – 9 everyday– pretty nice if you ask me! +1). The food was good. The fish tasted fresh. They have all the popular sushi rolls as well as a few premium special rolls. Happy hour prices cover the regular sushi rolls which makes each 8 piece roll come out to about 5 bucks. +1 The hot green tea tastes like fishy and watery. As if they had recycled the water used to wash the fish and turned it into green tea. Most horrible tea I’ve had. Lastly, the service was horrible. Although there were 4 servers on duty and only 3 tables, we were never checked up on. Took us a good 20 minutes to find a server to order from and another 10 minutes to get a refill on our waters. And when the servers would come to our table, they always seemed like they were in a rush to go even though it wasn’t even busy. A simple smile or nice gesture would have been appreciated. Needless to say, we won’t be coming back.

I have been wanting to try this place as the offer happy hour all day! When we arrived the front door stays wide open so the place is breezy and cold inside. I was surprised at the bright fluorescent type lighting with no ambience whatsoever. We sat at the sushi bar where the sushi chef can only be described as down right rude. We never offered water, a second drink. Or the set up with wasabi and ginger. In fairness, the food was good but the staff was not attentive and rude. We will never go back here. Oh, and the happy hour is deceiving. There are no drink specials and just a few rolls that they jacked up the price on and then discounted them by 50%.

First time here and it’s delicious. I had to find a new place since good sushi in Laguna Niguel sucked. Tru Sushi has happy hour on the weekends 50% off The food is great and the staff is fast and professional.

My office and I order from here on a weekly basis: we call it «Sushi Friday!» Their baked salmon roll is everyone’s go-to. Their happy hour is what drew us in and we’ve remained as regulars ever since. I give them props for handling our numerous, and sometimes complicated, orders. The staff is friendly and they have even come to recognize our office by our phone orders without giving a name. This place is definitely a local favorite!

The greatest thing about this place are the prices. The sushi is pretty good FOR the price. I’d reccomend this place if you’re not trying to break the bank when it comes to sushi. Also, one of the servers REFUSED to give us extra soy sauce packets when I ordered take out. It was quite odd.

Service is mediocre. The green tea tastes like dirty rag water. The food has so much sauce on it you can’t tell if the fish is bad.

Food is great. I can understand why this place would be busy on a Friday night but as soon as the crowd leaves, they forget about the wait list and seat whoever they see first. Took even longer to get our check. Problem with that, was no one was busy, just not attentive.

The food is 4 star, much better than average. The low prices bump it up to 5 stars. 5 adults, 2 rainbow rolls, 2 dragon rolls, avocado roll, a sushi dinner combo, veggie curry, tempura udon, all for around $ 60. I’m not a diva so I won’t comment on the service but from my multiple dining experiences here they seem to bring the food to you when’s it’s ready to eat.

My boyfriend and I come here about once a week! Love this place. The fish for the sushi is always fresh and tasty. Good beer on draft, and great Sake selection.

Tried this place for the first time and I left full and satisfied. I went with friends on a Thursday night around 8pm. Decent sized place with bar and plenty of table seating. I’m never fond of when restaurants have a single stall bathroom as opposed to one with multiple stalls, but it was clean so I lived to pee another day. Happy hour is 12 — 9:30pm daily, so there is plenty of time to get in on the 50% off action. We got 6 rolls(6 – 8 pieces each) and a draft beer for $ 30. Not too shabby. Sushi tasted good and didn’t make me sick so two thumbs up for that. If you’re wondering, «sounds pretty legit why not 5 stars?» there, of course, were some cons. Typically like to do all-you-can-eat when I get sushi(I like to try to beat the house and make the most of my money) but they don’t offer it here. I can’t complain too much when the sushi is on average $ 4 a roll. You still get your money’s worth. The service was really the downfall of this place. While it wasn’t atrocious, our waitress did go home half way through our meal and didn’t say a word. Not the most attentive either as we had to call servers over a anytime we needed something. It wasn’t packed so I’m not sure what the issue was. Overall the food and price were good enough that I would definitely go back and give it another try. Maybe the servers were just having a bad night.

I’m sorry, but their quality is definitely not up to par compared to other sushi joints around them. The«Happy Hour» prices aren’t even worth it for me. there were uneven cuts of fish and messy work on the rolls. Some of the rolls barely had any fish on them and were lazily done. With only 1⁄3 of the restaurant full of customers… their service is still very slow. I’ve come here multiple times and each time has been disappointing. I won’t be coming back

Don’t even second guess this gem. Daily Specials everyday Great clean fish. chilled to an exact, Hot green tea is steeped well. Spicy mayonnaise on tap. Hottest wasabi in town. Service is outstanding. No rush Nice and relaxed to let your food digest properly. A+

Probably my favorite not ayce(all you can eat) sushi place around my area. It’s 50% off the rolls and other foods during happy hour which is basically from lunch time until 9PM I think. I always order one or two dragon rolls and a salmon roll. The crunch rolls are also very good. I’ve never had a problem with bad quality fish here. Ngl the customer service here can be pretty slow. The wait for sushi after you order can be about 5 – 15 mins depending on how busy the place is.

Went here last Monday. Service went down hill. We asked our server for something and she didn’t even acknowledge us. No smile. Nothing. It wasn’t crowded at all. She looked mad. She didn’t look like she wanted to be there. To top it off. My favorite California Tempura roll went up in price. :/ Price up! SERVICEDOWN!

My mother choked on a fish bone in their sushi! The fish bone lodged in her throat and she began choking. When we asked for help, the waiters ignored our request for help and claimed they did not speak english!(They spoke just fine when taking our order) Not only that, they refused to pay for the emergency room visit and medical care! We never got a telephone call from the owners or managers. We are now stuck with the medical bill due to their poor/dangerous quality of food. It is very cheap, too cheap, but not worth getting sick over this place!

The fish quality here was excellent. It’s cool because it’s 50% off happy hour even on weekends! Highly recommend this place. I will be back!

I’ve been here with friends and been here just with my husband, and each time is different. We really like the price — usually around $ 3.75 per roll(around 5 pieces). Problem is, something it tastes fresh, and sometimes it doesn’t. Last time we were there it didn’t taste fresh at all. Also, service was not so great — they put my husband and I seating far back at the bar(an actual bar, where people order drinks), and the noise there was annoying, since that’s the place where servers stop by to drop dirty plates and get ready to go orders. So, yeah, not the best place to sit and have a peaceful meal. I don’t know if they were just too busy this time, but they were just slow to assist the clients. Their hot tea(green tea) is not great either. Very, very watery, doesn’t have flavor. The price is good and SOMETIMES sushi is also good, so we might give it another shot sometime.

[Wish I could give it 3.5 stars because it’s not quite a 4. 3 it is!] Parking: I never park in front of the restaurant — it’s a busy street and you can’t back out easily later on either! If you park behind the restaurant [in front of a market], there’s a walkway between TruSushi and CA Fish Grill, I believe. Seating: I always have a party of 2 so we usually don’t wait long since we don’t mind sitting at the bar. Service: Great! We usually get our drinks taken care of & food ordered right away. The rolls come out pretty quickly too. There are usually a few waiters/waitresses and we constantly get checked on. Our plates get cleared in a timely manner as well. Food/drinks: A pitcher of Kirin/Sapporo is $ 11 [fills about 5 glasses]. Rolls listed on the left side of the ordering sheet are half off!!! I seriously cannot get over the fact that we can order 7 rolls for ~$ 35. We’ve realized that this is cheaper & better for us at times than AYCE sushi since we get full without feeling gross. I haven’t tried anything besides the rolls so can’t really speak on the other food items!

At times, the unplanned works out better than anything. After some shopping in this complex, we noticed few eateries. This wasn’t anything fancy and my husband was hesitating. I convinced him to try it and so glad we did! All the tables were full so we sat at the bar. The staff were polite and helpful. The waiter took our drink order while he gave us the sheet to order off of. We shared a Sapporo while we waited for our food. We ordered… Salmon Roll — Fresh and delicious! Spicy Albacore Roll — Pretty good! Hawaii Volcano — Incredible!!! Salmon Sashimi — Fresh and delicious! The prices are reasonable and during happy hour, it’s even better! The food was fresh and well made. The service was great and the restaurant was clean. Will be back for sure!

Very mediocre sushi, poor service, and dirty patio. We were there on a Friday night. It wasn’t too busy but we waited 30 minutes for a seat on the patio. When we sat down the entire patio was now empty and there was garbage all over the floor. Disgusting that they would just walk over the mess and not sweep it up. We had to flag down a waitress and place our order. The good news was the sushi came fast. I can’t really complain about the food — just that it was mediocre. Much better quality elsewhere. I don’t think I’ll return.
