We went 03/04/2016 for a big group and the food was amazing and the service fantastic, 100% recommend

Not sure who paid for all the five star reviews but please don’t be fooled, the actual food quality is crap, cannot lie. It appears that the chef is trying to put out a nice product then capable, the garnishes tacky, plate sauces are runny and flavorless, FROZENSTEAMEDASPARAGUS? Something that takes a whole minute to cook, paired with a flavorless doughy crabcake covered in a lame coleslaw. Maybe I came on the chefs night off?

Made a reservation the week before for 2⁄13 and I was told there was a weekend Valentine’s 5 course tasting menu. The staff were friendly and called to confirm and read me the menu items. Called the day of my reservation to see if I could be seated a little earlier and they told me they had me scheduled for Sunday. I was given the option to come eat at the bar. No thank you. Friendly staff, they should update their system with email confirmations.

Always an amazing place to dine. The menu is so varied and I love that you can order a half portion. We have brought some very special out of town visitors here and they agree that it is amazing!

Came here to Lake George on a mini getaway with my husband and heard such good reviews of this place online. The restaurant was so cozy and the service was on par. Everything is on perfection with this restaurant and definitely a good place for family and a nice date out. My husband ordered the surf and turf and I had the osso bucco(veal shanks). We loved the presentation of our plates and the meat was so tender on my meal, it fell off the bone. We loved the options of ordering a smaller plate and full size plate. We could not pass on dessert here and the molten lava cake topped with peanut butter ice cream was to die for. Besides the food which speaks for itself, we liked the detail and presentation they took with our meals. We also liked the open kitchen concept and seeing the chefs cook from our table. I read online from their website the restaurant is owned by a husband and wife team and they do such a fabulous job. They are certainly creative with their menu options and it shows in their meals they love what they do. I like gourmet and top notch food in a comfy and cozy atmosphere and this is what this restaurant is like. That night they also had a special pairing of a sampling of different courses the chef was trying out, all the menu options for it sounded so delicious and unique, next time we hope to be back and try that out. Thank-you for such an enjoyable experience!

A returnees for sure. 2nd time and still consistently amazing. The short ribs… a must. Tomato Bisque with cognac. Perfect with a hint of spice. Tuna Roll appetizer Wonderful. Osso buco with the risotto melted in your mouth. Topped off with bread pudding with crushed cashews and maple… Worth the calories. Don’t miss this gem in outside of Lake George

The food was delicious! We savored every bite. Totally forgot to take pictures of the many dishes we enjoyed. Started with the Roasted Tomato & Cognac Bisque and the Butternut Squash Bisque. Then shared the Mascarpone Stuffed Poached Pear Salad — delicious! For the entrée, ordered the Trout over spear rib onion hash and the(special of the night) Dry Ribeye with Spaetzle. We had ordered the small size so that we could try as many different dishes as possible. We have found our«food stop» when we travel to/from Vermont! What a treat it will be to try different dishes every time we stop! The owners are doing ALL the right things!

We have been there for dinner the day after Thanksgiving. We were a party of 3 adults, and a toddler. We reserved our place in advance and I recommend doing that since the place was pretty packed by the time we reached(around 8PM). The restaurant has very good ambiance. We had the Goat Cheese En Croute and Crab cake for starters. Both were excellent. We also had Vegan version of risotto, which was prepared for us on request since couple of us were temporarily on a veg diet. The food was really flavorful, and well presented. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Overall, excellent, excellent food and great service! Highly recommended!!! PS: Though we did not try, the place seemed to have a very good collection at their full bar.

We have been here twice. The first time we went we were absolutely blown away with the chef and he accommodated a food allergy exceptionally well. This is our go-to place in town and we love the cozy atmosphere and the seasonable menu. The food is amazing and I would recommend any foodies in the area to check it out!

So so good. It’s like my dream for every good restaurant to have a tapas option and the chefs here make that a reality. And I tend to be overly picky when it comes to service but Becky(I believe was her name) was top shelf. Just enough, not too much, personable and knowledgeable.

Visit Date: September 6, 2015 If you come to Lake George and you have a little money to splurge and you want a great dining experience this place is perfect for you! I came to Bistro Le Roux with my brother in law, his girlfriend and my hubby. The place was recommended by my brother in law. When we walked in we found out there was a snafu with our reservation, despite the fact that the tables were booked, the restaurant did right by us when they offered us the chef’s table. I was honored to be seated at the chef’s table, never in my life did I think I would be able to sit at the chef’s table in any restaurant. What an incredible dining experience eating here is! You can order large or small dishes which is great because you can eat multiple small dishes and taste a few things. I had the pomme frites with truffle oil with an aioli sauce on the side. Both the sauce and the fries were terrific. The fries were thin and skinny with a hint of truffle. For my main dish I had the eggplant parm risotto, small dish size. That was also delish! They baked or fried the parm cheese until it was a crispy thin topping. Everything blended so well in this dish. We also shared a cheese plate which was delicious as well and I sampled my husband’s tomato bisque which was like eating a creamy fresh tomato. The staff was very nice, the restaurant exuded elegance without being over the top or snotty about it! Bistro Le Roux was a wonderful dining experience and I will remember it fondly, it’s right up there with my dinner at the St. Jame’s in Paris.

Where have you been all my life? Well, my vacation life that is!!! For years I have searched for an upscale, unique dining experience while vacationing in the region and I now have to look no further! I relied on the Unilocal reviews and gave this place a try and I was not sorry. Each of us in party had a different entrée and all were pleased. Short ribs, chicken Parmesan risotto, the crab risotto(a special) and a good ol fashioned hamburger were devoured. I started with the tomato soup which was to die for and the table enjoyed the pomme frites which were perfectly seasoned. Based on our great experience we just had to try desert. The chocolate torte and apple crisp were absolutely delicious though the beignet wasn’t quite as good as the others. All in all a great experience. Service was prompt, the wait staff friendly and ambiance was quite romantic. Without a doubt we will be back!!!

Very impressed with this place though have no idea why it has a French name. They do serve up a nice French onion soup but didn’t see a lot on the menu that would make me think it was French. So, I checked out their site and it turns out the restaurant was named after a family member whose last name was Le Roux. We’ve been to many places in Lake George over the years and overall the food experiences have been disappointing. Whether you spend $ 100 pp or $ 10, I just never found anything worth going back to. Until this past weekend. Le Roux’s service is excellent. The server(s) are constantly, but not annoyingly, coming by the table to see how things are. Food comes out quick. Much quicker than what you’d expect. I do believe they cook«a minute» but much of the menu items could be par cooked, and in some cases, must in order for it to be on the menu. This doesn’t affect the taste or balance much, depending on what it is. I had the braised short ribs accompanied by some of the best hominy grits I’ve ever had, al dente, toothsome, chunky, creamy. A tad on the salty side but delicious none the less. French onion soup was very good, not too salty like most places(often inexperienced cooks season forgetting the cheese also has a lot of sodium). Refreshing to find a place where the service and food are tops. For example, I ordered a non vintage chianti. It was young so didn’t expect too much. But this bottle had a tartness that wasn’t enjoyable. Figured if I left it for 30 mins, it would open. It did but not much. So I asked the server to taste it. Potable but off. He had the bartender take a swig and said it is supposed to taste that way. BUT he offered to replace it if I wanted. Totally cool! Regardless of what they thought, they wanted the customer to be happy. Awesome offer. But I declined, drank the bottle and ordered a Washington state cab sav which was surprisingly good, for the price(Seven Falls-$ 38). Another cool thing. You can see the kitchen the moment you walk in. Not huge and only 3 folks in the back of house yet they produce a ton of food. Pretty impressive. BTW, leave your AMEX at home. They don’t take it(as well as lot of places in the area).

Oh my goodness… I can’t believe I have driven past this place a million times and never eaten here! We had reservations –very important even for a Monday night because they had to turn another group away when we got there. If you’re bringing a few people and kids especially, make a reservation so you don’t have to wait! Our waiter Jesse was very courteous. We ordered two apps and two salads. Truffle pommes frites were crunchy and delicious, hardly tasted like fries at all! The chili risotto was so yummy that I kept going back for more… and I don’t even like chili very much. I found a small bug on my plate from the apps, but the waiter apologized and took it back to the chef. Since it wasn’t clear to them which app had the bug, the restaurant generously comped both of the apps. Next we tried the special salad with Japanese dragon beans, baby gherkins, cherry tomatoes, etc. Very crunchy and unique! Not often do I order a salad that has only ingredients I like, so that was nice. The pear and mascarpone salad with candied walnuts was so incredibly good! I could’ve had that for dessert! Hot bread and butter came out too, not spectacular but still good. I ordered a small cabarnet braised short ribs. Small portions are plenty of food for the average person, especially if you have apps and desserts. Others at the table had surf and turf, salmon with risotto cakes, eggplant Parmesan, and lobster risotto. Every dish was so fancy, I didn’t want to mess it up! No complaints around the table, just exclamations of joy! «Omg you have to try this!» Desserts are not to be missed. We never ever eat dessert at a restaurant, always too full. Jesse brought out a display of desserts to show, everything looked so good! We ordered the beignet, chocolate mousse, chocolate lava cake. Everything was divine. I want more of that beignet because it didn’t last long! I can’t say more than that of dinner, it was absolutely delightful. I can’t wait to eat there again!

What a phenomenal place. A few miles down the same road that the Lake George RV Park is on. We called around 6pm on a SUNDAY and they said they could seat us, but not until 730pm. That was the first indication that this place was good as I’m not sure how many places(even in the heart of the village) that would have as much as a 90 minute wait. We arrived about an hour early and had a drink at the bar, which led to a 2nd and an app(crab cakes =). The bartender Nicole was very nice and interactive. Seated around 715 in a nice corner two-top in the back. Had a glass each of House Chardonnay and Cab($ 7 each). I had a Caesar, which was more of a chopped salad, but, good, regardless. My wife had the special Farm Fresh salad with all kinds of different veggies, stuff that you normally don’t see. The only negative for her was the dressing was a bit bitter. Entrees, my wife went with Eggplant Parm Risotto, which was essentially Risotto over marinara sauce, with 2 – 3 eggplant Parm slices and Parm chips over the top. I had the butter poached lobster risotto. Fantastic! Not just a few pieces of lobster in the risotto. It had, what seemed to be an entire lobster tail, cut into 5 slices. Really nice portion. Maybe a few too many potatoes on top. Overall, a great spot and somewhere that’ll be on the agenda during every Lake George trip.

A diamond of deliciousness just south of Lake George, my girlfriend and I nearly skipped this gem but decided at the last minute to trek back up from Saratoga for the last evening of our week-long Adarondack vacation. On par with most restaurants in nyc, from beginning to end the service and our meal were impeccable. In an area of the country — New York especially — bursting with summer goodness, this place should not be missed. If this place was in Manhattan it would be double the price. With their small orders of their dishes you can taste everything. Our server Becky was helpful with some excellent recommendations wine and food. We ate the following Tomato bisque Vegan shrimp Braised short ribs over hominy Eggplant risotto The bisque was creamy and well seasoned. Fresh The vegan shrimp was interesting. It wasn’t shrimp but it was good The short ribs were cooked perfectly over hominy. Yum. Recommend. The fried eggplant over risotto was amazing. Beautiful fish and a great flavor. We will be back Thank you chef Jacob R Guay

I found this place on Unilocal with great reviews. We were staying in a nearby town on vacation in the Adirondacks. I had made a reservation, which was a good idea because it was a Saturday night and the restaurant was busy. This restaurant had a cozy, yet fancy feel. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. I ordered The roasted tomato and cognac bisque and the black angus burger. Everything was cooked to perfection! The flavors were so rich, you definitely can tell the ingredients were fresh. Bistro LeRoux is a unique and sophisticated restaurant with very reasonable prices. My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience and would definitely go back if we are in the area again.

What a hidden gem! The things they are doing at Le Roux Bistro are unique, outside the box, and delicious. The menu was small but full of tons of rustic/homestyle items. The plating was original and completely mouthwatering. The food itself was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and just delicious. My crab cake was paired with an avocado cole slaw that was somehow equally decadent, light, and filling. I also got the vegetarian stuffed poblano which was complex without being overwhelming. Totally original, I was so impressed. The service was excellent too. Our waitress was a complete pleasure. If I lived nearby this would be my go-to favorite restaurant. Way to go, Le Roux!

The place is decorated in a cosy American feel and is full of French art. I even liked the art with words of inspiration that they hang in the bathroom. There was relaxing soft music playing. Overall, very zen feel(in a French American kind of way). The service was also great. The waiter was a calm man and knowledgable about the food and for a place away from a big city, it was cool to see them pull out a gluten free menu for us. The food was good. I had the ahi tuna — a combo of tuna, avocado, soy sauce and a Chinese chilly dressing. A fresh take on common flavor with an uncommon combination. I also had a small plate of the tomato salad which was good. My boyfriend had the fish and it was well seasoned and felt very comforting to me when I tried it. I also liked that they have the concept of small plates vs. big plates for portion control. We were happy to find this jam on our drive back from Canada. With nothing but MacDonald’s in miles, we were happy to go to this cute little place and enjoy a good meal.
