Mr. Bill’s

I was really hoping for a new place to go. I live in Ballston Spa and REALLY don’t care for the choices I have here in the village so we are willing to travel for good ice cream. I was thrilled to find out that Mr. Bill’s was coming to Milton and we could avoid the one other place in the village, that happens to be just walking distance from my house, but we refuse to pay the high prices for mediocre at best ice cream and food. We went twice now to Mr. Bill’s and I have to give credit where it is due, the ice cream is fantastic! It is priced right and it is thick and creamy and the service is pretty friendly as well… Unfortunately, that is where I have to stop the complements. The first visit was for food as well and we (my wife and I) didn’t see the tiny white board warning of a 25 – 30 MINUTE WAIT for food!!! I ordered and sat for almost a half hour for 2 burgers, a clam roll, and fries. I don’t wait that long for a steak at a 5 star restaurant! Anyway, I chalked it up to «maybe they’re just really busy tonight.» Not really all that busy, but it’s new and maybe the bugs were still getting worked out… SO tonight we went again for both dinner and ice cream and were told that it would again be a MINIMUM of 30 minutes wait for dinner!!! There were about a dozen people sitting at the tables! There is absolutely NO reason for that kind of wait for ANY deep fried food and/​or frozen patty that would have been used for a burger. When I stated that to the help I was informed that «nothing is frozen»… really? Even if that were true, it should take time OFF the cooking time, not add to it! ALSO, are they schucking the clams per order of clam strips? Are they peeling the potatoes for the fries? COME ON! Don’t try to pull the wool over my eyes!
I spoke with a lady in line ahead of me and she had been there for over ½ hour for a couple burgers and fries! UNACCEPTABLE! This place wont make it another season if that keeps up because I will tell of my experience there and I am SURE that others will as well.
I hope they keep up the quality, but Mr. Bill’s really needs to work on ticket times if they want repeat customers. Nobody wants to wait 30 minutes for some fries.

We just had a great meal. Burgers, fries and shakes. Everything was fresh, made to order, with very generous portions for a very very reasonable price. Very clean establishment, friendly staff, great service. I would go back in a minute.
