Not a place I would find myself visiting again anytime soon. The burgers themselves weren’t bad, but you could tell they were just frozen patties. The product is priced well for what it is. A bacon cheeseburger costs around $ 4. Service was very friendly. The place itself seems a little run down. The building is definitely old and towards the rear of the building is semi used as a junk storage area. Which doesn’t make for a pleasant experience. They don’t seem to believe in air conditioning either. So make sure there’s a seat outside if you’re going to be there when it’s hot outside. Indoor seating is available, but you have been warned. Also, no credit cards are accepted here. So make sure you have cash on you. I would only recommend this place if you’re looking for a quick and inexpensive lunch in Lake George. Don’t go anywhere near this place for a dinner.

I stopped in this past Saturday for a quick bite to eat. I was 3rd in line to place my order. The service was insanely slow & the one guy working the counter was clearly overwhelmed. When it came my turn to order, the counter guy disappeared to help pitch in in the kitchen & get orders ready. Perhaps they are racist, very ignorant, or just plain didn’t care for my business. At this point, I gauged the pace at which people were actually getting food served & figured my quick bite to eat with kids in tow might take well over half an hour, so rather than wait any longer to place an order, I promptly left & went to a place 2 minutes down the road where food was made within 5 minutes of placing my order. Perhaps all the other people who left reviews for this place are locals or people who didn’t have to wait in line to get served??? The 2 guys who I saw working here looked like absolute slobs as well… just an honest observation.

What a great place to grab a fast lunch or dinner! We were on our way to Lake Placid and were traveling with our dog. That limited our dining options so we opted for something with outdoor seating. Cute building with picnics tables all around. Nice and shaded so it would be perfect on a sunny day. The hot dogs & burgers were tasty, and the onion rings were great. Wish we’d had more time for ice cream. If you want something that’s fast off the Northway, this is a great stop!

This place has good ice cream. After a long day of hiking or swimming in the lake, it is nice, but it is nothing super special. This place is always much hotter inside, so I recommend to sit outside on the picnick tables. Burgers are good, and cooked on a good char grill, but aside from that just regular angus beef, same could be said about the hot dogs. If you are passing through and want a quick bite to eat, I say stop in, give it a try.

Dined on 6÷17÷15… Great, freshly made fast food. The burgers with fresh crisp veggies were delicious, wonderful sweet potato fries & the best mocha milkshake! The whole family loved their meals. Decent prices, outdoor seating on the lawn available(although we did take out) and friendly service. We stopped in twice during our week’s vacation & would gladly go again the next time we’re up here. :)

I love this little burger shack. Such friendly staff and with solid burger stand food and honest prices. This place appeals the to type of person who loves a beautiful drive that leads to that perfect little break to stretch your legs where you can get simple casual diner style food with a smile. If they’ve never been on diners, drive-ins, and dives, they should be.

Good food. Husband liked his burger a lot. My turkey burger was good, too. Nice place to stop for in the go or a quick bite.

Great little place when you’re looking for a quick lunch. Burgers, dogs, and chicken tenders were good. The guys behind the counter could not be friendlier. This is on the list to come back to.

Everytime I come to lake george I have lunch at this place! Everything from hamburgers, mozzarella stcks, zucchini sticks, hot dogs, chicken tenders, french fries and even their ice cream is outrageous! The owner who I believe also works behind the counter is the friendliest most attentive person and always make sure the customer is happy! Me and my family have been going here for years and we will continue for years to come! This place is a must the food is always spectacular and a great price! If you want great food with awesome customer service check out the loft! You won’t regret it!

Probably the best comfort food Lake George had to offer. One day while driving I wanted to stop there on our way back to the hotel to grab a quick bite before dinner. Not gonna lie, we experienced a bit of racism in Lake George and when we pulled up there was a guy outside who looked like he wanted to chop us up into pieces so my friend, who was not hungry, said she’d walk in with me. BESTIDEAYET. This little mom and pop barnyard grill place had an aroma that made you want to sample everything on the menu. I ordered a classic burger with onion rings and convinced myself that I did not need the strawberry milkshake. My non hungry friend couldn’t resist and had the bacon cheese burger with fries. The meals were so well priced, but seating was tight so we took the meal back to the hotel. The grease stains on the bag that they placed the food in had me salivating as we took the long 2 minute drive to the hotel. We got in and pigged out. After extreme Ziplining this meal hit more spots than one with me willing to make a 3 hour drive just to grab one of these burgers. The old school feel of him writing down our order on a simple note pad and handing it to his cook had me wanting more. This is an absolute must visit.

We were playing mini golf across the street when we caught scent of delicious food. We couldn’t identify where the food was being made until we drove down a bit more. The skies opened up and the parking lot was flooded as we pulled up. I’m still glad we literally ran in… The burger, fries and soda hit the spot. when we have mediocre burgers locally I always tease we should make a quick trip to NY for the perfect burger. ;) Mmmm :)

Had to try the best burger in town, according to all the reviews. It is cash only so I wasn’t able to order everything I would have liked. I had a bacon cheeseburger with fries and my son had a cheese dog. The cheese dog was nothing special, it literally just had nacho cheese. As far as the bacon cheeseburger went, it was okay, nothing special. The bacon was kind of dry like it was cooked earlier that day and was just sitting around. The hamburger itself was decent, I think it was Black Angus so it was good quality. The French fries were okay, nothing that you can’t get anywhere else. Customer service was good for fast food. seems like they have a loyal following.

Stop in whenever I have time. Most recently after hiking buck mountain. I love trying the«specials». The service is very nice and welcoming. Everything i’ve had here from burgers to chicken salads has been wonderful. A great family spot with something for everyone. Stop in for a snack, full meal or just a sweet treat.

One of my favorite places to visit when I’m in Lake George. Being a kid from the 70’s, I always feel like a little kid coming here, as the décor and vibe feel like it hasn’t changed a bit since then. I’m vegetarian, and it’s always a challenge for me to find a quick, decent meal in LG. The veggie burger is good, and if it’s not too busy, if you like, they will add sautéed mushrooms on top. The jalapeño poppers with cream cheese filling are delicious and the mozzarella sticks are tasty with a little touch of spice. They also have a nice sitting area outside with picnic tables. This is a nice place to take your family. The food is among the best in LG and the prices are reasonable.

SOLID. This little road side shack is everything a good burger and fries place SHOULD be. Located in a place so saturated with outlet shops it’s easy to miss, it still manages to stand out on a busy Route 9 street corner. Its red barm interior gingerly encapsulates a delightfully antiquated interior, with four small booths and 1980s-era posters of children in neon t-shirts excitedly holding up ice cream cones. I’m a basic woman: give me a burger with lettuce, tomato, and ketchup, fries, and a small Sprite, and I’m all set. I paid about $ 6 for ALL of that. It took a little bit of time to get my order, but will I complain about getting a fresh meat patty flame-broiled? No. Will I complain about waiting for the fryer to cook my French fries to order? No. Honestly, this hamburger was sublime in its simplicity.(In other words, it was a damn good burger!) The patty was char-broiled to perfection. The lettuce was crisp. The tomato slice stayed in its place. The bun, which ended up being a Kaiser roll, was perfectly toasted over the flame. Combined, this hamburger was… YUMMY. The fries were golden, crispy on the outside, and almost creamy on the inside. The small soda was actually SMALL: 8 oz. vs. the NYC standard of 20 oz. being«small»(…well, not for much longer, but I digress…) was great; I prefer soda, which I rarely drink, to be a nice accompaniment, not the largest part if the meal! This place is a absolute throwback to the rural burger places I grew up near. Cheap food that is also GOOD food. Other establishments could learn from a place like this. Next time I’m up in this area, I’ll make it my business to stop by and eat…

Food is ok, everything is a bit to greasy. This is more of a pit stop kind of place and prices are on the high end for this type of establishment.

This was the only good meal on our long weekend trip. Not sure if that is saying much. But the turkey cheeseburger was very good and so was the burger. The chili dog though — skip. Given the low prices, outdoor tables, friendly guy working there and good burgers I’ll up it to 4 stars!

This is one of my favorite places in upstate NY, a unique gem. It has been in business at least since the 1970s, and the food is of consistent high quality at a very reasonable price. There are not too many restaurants where the friendly owner is there every day to personally take your order. You order at the counter, and then you are notified when your order is ready. They serve a good sized burger on a kaiser roll, cooked to order. Ice cream is also quite popular. For the health conscious there is a turkey burger that is also excellent. There is plenty of parking, although you must pay attention pulling in and out of the lot since The Loft is right at the intersection of two major highways(US9 and State 149). There is a very nice outdoor dining area with picnic tables. It would be nice to have umbrellas over a few of them them in the summer. Restrooms are behind the building, and are small but clean. I will gladly make a 25 minute drive from home just to go to The Loft. And what makes it even better is that The Loft is open year round, not just in the summer.
