Wow extremely disappointed in the way this place is run… They told us one thing on the phone when we booked how there was two complementary paddleboats and kayaks for the guests to use then when we get here it’s $ 20 an hour to rent Then the amount of people smoking on the beach and throwing their cigarette butts in the sand is absolutely atrocious. I was then told by the staff in New York State you can’t stop people from smoking outside. But there are places if there’s no smoking on the premises people have to leave the property

I will remove all emotion from this review so that you can get a non-biased negative review. We stayed 2 nights. Night number one went without incident. The next day we noticed right away that the cleaning staff entered the room but failed to perform any cleaning at all. Garbage cans full. Toilet dirty. No towels replaced. No new toilet paper. They removed the comforters and folded them but strangely didn’t make the bed. We happened to have a pair of sandals in the corner of the room that when moved were wet underneath. Very strange. Night number two. 1:30am we hear gallons of water pouring from the bathroom. Within literally 60 seconds the ENTIRE room was in 1 inch standing water. Sewage was coming out of the sink drain. I had to carry my 3 year old out of the room in raw sewage(this is an electrocution hazard) and they put us in the only room left. That room has extensive water damage also which I took pictures of. It is also covered in black mold. Here is a breakdown of all the problems. Toilet had an entire bowel movement in it upon arrival. Black mold. Water damage. Tons of spiders and dead insects throughout the room and on windows. Towels stained. Adjoining door to the next room has a crack so large that you can literally see into the next room.

I visit Lake George every summer and this specific hotel every year since 2008. The first year was the best one and the hotel was in immaculate condition. Over the years the filth has gone up and up. And my opinion of giving it 1 chance 1 more year has died this year after what i witnessed. 1) The rooms are full of spider webs at ceilings, Bathrooms, Doors and Balcony, Chairs. 2) The room service did not clean the bathrooms and only«stretched» the lines on the bed instead of fitting/tucking it in. 3) No sweeping or mopping. 4) Towels and Face linen was«Yellow» not white. 5) Refer to the Photos i posted. It’s mold and gross bathrooms. It’s filthy. Hotel needs a desparate attention for hygiene. i have stayed in JW, Gaylord’s and i do not expect the same quality in here but i have also stayed in Motel 6 and Super 8 back and i would go back and stay there instead of Tahoe @ Lake George.

I see a lot of negative reviews for this hotel and I’m not sure why. I stayed for one night and it was a perfect location and price!
From the looks of the outside of the hotel, I was actually expecting a run down room. Surprisingly, it was clean and pretty updated inside. Clean sheets, clean bathroom, which is A+ for me.
The check in/out area was a blast from the past. Definitely hasn’t been renovated since 1982. But the Staff was very friendly– a bit slow about checking me in and out– but I guess that’s typical for«upstate» right?(not in a nasty way).
My room did not have a view which I was pretty disappointed about, although there was a «back door» to our room which led to this creepy little inside patio type of place. This was pretty run down and hot inside. Needless to say, I had no use for it, and that«back door» stayed shut.
Word of advice: Don’t stay here if you don’t like hills or walking up steep stairs– definitely tiring getting from one side to the other! Be prepared to become«one with nature». Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Tahoe. It’s only a 5min drive from town, and it’s right on the beautiful lake. What more could you want!

We stayed this past weekend and it was great. Location is fantastic, right on a private beach with a few boats to use. Heated outdoor pool which is super clean. The inside of the room was clean and spacious. The layout of the hotel itself is a bit weird and definitely not for anyone who has a hard time with stairs as it is on a pretty steep incline. I would definitely stay again.

Location is great, right on the private beach. The beach in not huge but has a few paddle boats, canoes available for rent. There is an outdoor heated pool. These are the only positives of the resort. The extensive negatives are how rundown the place is. It wouldn’t take much to turn the place around, paint the walls, clean up the galaxy of dead insects that are on the windows and doors. As long as you value the location(which means you can just stroll to the beach, be withing 5 minutes of driving distance of the Lake George village, have a heated pool in case of rainy weather) and manage to not gag over the gross accommodations, this is an OK stay. Could become a great stay under the right management.

I grew up going here for the first 12 years of my life(I am 45 now). It looks exactly the same. Except it is more yellow. Used to be more pale blue. It has a nostalgic feel and is a typical Motel. Lake George is not impressive when it comes to accommodations. If you want a decent place to stay, stay here.

The room was clean-ish. First 2 towels I grabbed were stained, could definitely use some paint and a good cleaning. Beds were uncomfortable, very, you could see the huge worn depression in the middle and definitely feel it; they passed the replacement stage years ago. Called front desk to ask for something, never got the promised call back. Great location on the lake, good price, that’s about it.

We stayed at the height of the summer season, the rooms were clean and the Service at the front desk was excellent! Cleaning staff was very attentive. Nice people managing the Tahoe! ¼ mile from town. their beach front was very nice.

We stayed off season, mostly for a place to stay before and after a rafting trip, and Lake George in general was dead. Most restaurants were not even open except for the ubiquitous pizza/Italian places on the main drag. The Tahoe Beach Club is one of the first places you will see coming off I87 at exit 22 and making a left onto Lakeshore Dr. It is very close to downtown Lake George(½ mile in opposite direction). We had a suite with a king-size bed, table & chairs, a small refrigerator and a balcony with a real nice view of the Lake. It was priced tight at $ 79 with a $ 10 off per night coupon from the web… so $ 69/night was a good deal. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The view of the lake from the lakeview room was really nice. It was actually a good quiet time to go, green on the trees, but not wall to wall people. It is a slightly older hotel(as most are up there) and could maybe use a dab of paint here or there as well as a touch of wallpaper glue in spots, but all in all, it was a comfortable room to stay in. They do have a heated pool and even though it was open, we did not get to enjoy it due to the chilly weather. As stated, we were early in the season, before Memorial Day. The hotel also has a nice little beach area on the lake. No continental breakfast or restaurant in the hotel, so we had to go out all the time for eats or have stuff that could be stored in the fridge. I would like to hear what this place and Lake George is like in mid-season, so it would be nice to have some feedback here if anyone goes! Frankly, I am not sure how much I would want to return to Lake George in general. It did not seem like it would fit the bill for being a relaxing place, or at the other extreme, a hopping place either. Maybe I am misjudging it because of the time of year, but I did not see much there that made me say«wow, we’ve got to come back!» Anyway, to get back to specifics, when it comes to hotels, the bottom line is having a nice clean room in which you are comfortable, and the Tahoe, off-season, covered the bases at a good price, Just a good average hotel at a good off-season rate. If you want to go to Lake George and can get these rates, give it a shot.
