This is the best place to stay on the lake. This is now our family second year and already booked for next year. Mike the owner is a great guy very comfortable atmosphere right on the lake. Every room cabin or house has everything you need.

Very nice hotel right on the lake with a friendly staff. They have BBQ grills on property with charcoals for you, save some money and cook a few good meals for yourself. Downtown is a walk away as well.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to escape the city and found Lake George. Shore Meadows is the perfect place to stay! It’s walking distance from downtown Lake George and has its own private beach where we can rent kayaks and go explore the many beautiful islands on the lake. The owner Michael was very nice to us and made us feel at home! Great town, great place for a perfect weekend! We’ll definitely come back!

We so wanted to like this place… alas we cannot. At check in, we were presented a rental price that was twice what we reserved. Luckily we kept the original confirmation to prove our case. This was close to unethical and maybe even felonious. This motel was recently remodeled; our room was clean, nice grounds reaching down to the lake and more. However, whoever designed the remodel, doesn’t have a clue about what guests need. Here’s a list of issues: the shower curtain only covers half the opening, not one drawer or shelf in the bedroom to store clothes, not one electric outlet in the bathroom, absolutely no light in the kitchen area — have you ever made coffee at 9AM by flashlight? There was a nice Keurik coffee maker in the kitchen but no coffee… who travels with Keuirik coffee pods? The curtains were were filthy with grime and the draw strings did not work. There was more, but I think you get the idea. In Lake George there are lots of choices where the owners don’t try to defraud their guests, and who care about their customers comfort and convenience. We will not be back.

I had a really great time here! Right on the lake … rooms were very clean … jet ski rentals right on premises as well. We had a blast rented a boat one day … rode jet ski’s another! Good time!

I went with my family for a week just before I had to go back to college(so end of summer basically). First, my mom made a reservation for one of the hotel/motel-style rooms. The owner accidentally double booked the room, called her immediately, and offered to put us in that room for one night, and then have us move for the rest of the week to the rental house FORTHESAMEPRICEASTHEHOTELROOM. Such an awesome way to present great service and get return renters. Both the hotel room and house were spotlessly clean and well furnished. There is a private beach for use only by Shore Meadows renters which was never very crowded; beach chairs were provided. This place is also within easy walking distance to the shopping/restaurant area without being located right in the middle of all that. There are picnic tables and grills on the property as well. They rent kayaks during the day(double and single). All in all, this place was really nice, the owners are amazing, and I would definitely come back.

I have been to the lake many times. This was great clean. Beach was beautiful. The view from our cabin was amazing. The. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. There is a huge tree right on thebeach if you’d like to sit in the shade. They have a picnic table set under it if you would like to BBQ on the beach. Loved it

My boyfriend and I just left a very relaxing few days at shore meadow hotel. We came up from CT not knowing where we were going to stay and were pleasantly surprised when we found this place right on the lake and with its own private beach. It’s perfect walking distance to downtown but tucked away on a quiet side street. Pat and her son, who own and run the hotel, were nothing but extremely nice and welcoming. They have an abundant amount of double and single kayaks to rent by the hour right next to the beach area. The rooms are old but clean, spacious, and have a new mounted flat screen tv. Each room has two double beds. Other than renting a cabin on the lake this would be the only place I’d stay in the future at lake George.

My friend and I decided to escape the HEATWAVE that was hanging over NYC like the plague and go to the Catskills/Adirondacks for just a night. I called 6 days ahead, and Pat answered sweetly and with no fuss took down my reservation for a one night stay even though I believe they have a 2 night minimum. In one day and night we: — Did a 1 hour 45 minute kayak down Lake George(only got charged for an hour) $ 15 per person, per hour — Bought three 6 packs of beer at the Price Chopper(Upstate NY’s version of Gristede’s — but it’s CLEAN) — Ordered a large pizza to our cabin(forgot the place, but they forgot our pizza! waited an hour for it. CHEAP) — Went hiking up Prospect Mountain for 3 hours, got off trail, got lost for 45 minutes and viewed the most beautiful views of the Adirondack Valley(we clearly saw the tip of Mt. Killington!) — Ate at Bank Street Café prior to our hike. The Russians who own the place were courteous and didn’t seem like the mobsters in Queens at all. — Checked out 2 hours late of our hotel, but they let us, with no fee, since no one else was going to check in. Shore Meadows Motel is quaint, nothing 5 star here, but if you’re going for a weekend get away, do you really need 5 star? The owners are a family. Pat and her Husband have been here since the 70’s and their son works the grounds and is an all around awesome guy. I’m hoping/wishing they were hippies back in the day. Cons: The shower backed up without fall every time the water ran for more than 5 minutes, so you stood in your shower water… yuck. The room smelled of old person, but the décor hasn’t been spruced since the late 80’s, so who cares, you’re only sleeping in the place! Pros: Mini beach area to lay out and get your bake on. I didn’t do this, since ya know, I have a natural tan, but my friend did and she got crispy. 2 minute walk from our cabin door to the water. Gazebo along the water for indoor outdoor fun. Great place to drink after a long day in the sun. CHEAP! for a night it was $ 111(tax included) and this was during the HEIGHT of the summer. Result: Pros outweigh the cons! I must and plan on going back. People like them deserve to be kept in business.
