Bang average. Poppadoms came with no condiments. Samosa’s best part of meal. Chicken Tikka Masala looked decent but descended into a flavorless soup with chicken that was barely seasoned and bland. Peshwari Naan was dry and unappealing. For $ 30 no real value there. Need to use tandoor oven with the chicken if that’s their big selling point.

I don’t know about everyone else… this place was horrible Food was literally microwaved Spice level was not at Indian standard Ordered chicken tica masala one for adults and one for kids and they both were no spice and the chicken again was microwaved The nann was like papad hard and again microwaved We paid in full feeling bad it would close down. This is one of the worst reviews I have ever written but it’s sooooooooooooooooo bad

I swear, the food in this restaurant is so bad that I felt compelled to login into my Unilocal account and let other people know how pathetic this is. This place has the worst Indian food in the entire US. Please don’t make your perception of Indian food from this place. We ordered Chicken Platter, Chicken Masala, Chicken Handi, Raita, Garlic Naan and Chappatis/rotis. Here is description for these items. Chicken platter: The herbs coating was just on the surface. It was like oven baked chicken with masala smeared on top. It taste like leather. Chicken Masala n Chicken Handi– both had same taste and same gravy. I could not finished even a small potion of this. Raita: it was stale and stinky Garlin naan: okay okay. Probably better than other food, I ordered. Rice: Really good quality Basmati rice. The only good thing in the menu. Gulaabjamun: just Average. Stay away from this place!

Food’s horrible, doesn’t seem very hygienic and the guy working there and maintaining the buffet kept sneezing which was disgusting. The naan was better though the centre was a little undercooked.

Food was great, the chef was very friendly he came out to take the order and made it as per our choice, we asked him to make it spicy with less oil and more Indian taste rather Americanized way and he delivered, naan was good and the curries were awesome. Was staying in the area for more than a month and went there at least thrice a week for dinner.

Very bad experience we had coming to this restaurant. the nan was uncooked and when I call the chef to complain abt it he says that half nan is good and they cannot do anything abt it… never come across this kind of service ever in my life… food was equally horrible with tons of oil…

Was okaish because we were hungry! We ordered spicy paneer sabji but it was hot with green chilly, not full of spices as you would expect. I think overall all the food was plain and was missing the real indian spicy flavor to it. Wouldn’t recommend to visit again.

Upon arriving the first time for dinner, it was extremely dark and quiet. The only time you would hear noise is when someone sneeze or other customers talking. There was only two other customers at approximately 7 – 8PM by the way. The server came over with a pitch of tap water then my significant other and I ordered Samosa Chaat, one order of Naan, chicken white curry(mild), and lamb/goat Vindalu(medium). The two main entrees came with a side of plain rice. All the food we ate was delicious but we could have went up the spice level. I wish the Samosa Chaat came with two instead of just one and a bunch of chickpeas in sauce. Just letting you know now, the food here are not your typical Indian food. It’s Pakistani-Indian so please keep that in mind. I’m not used to the Naan being the way it was served but then I realized it’s Pakistani-Indian food style. The service was extremely slow though. After giving us our food, the guy(assuming he’s the owner) walked away and sat at his computer. We walked to the register to pay(is this how it works at this restaurant? Is it in Canada??? I don’t even know… just kidding. Still a bit weird for this type of restaurant for customers to walk up to the register to pay, that’s located in United States of America). On our second night, we decided to come here for dinner again. Yes, two nights in a row. Yippee right? We was the only one the whole entire time from sitting down and driving away. This time, even though it was just my significant other and I as their only customers at the time, there was musics playing so yay! It doesn’t feel like we’re dinning in right before closing time. We ordered vegetable samosa, one order of Naan, chicken white curry(medium) with naan instead of rice, and lamb/goat karahi in hot. The lady who took our order said it was okay for me to substitute rice with naan but when the food came out, rice was served instead of naan. Me being me and in a good mood, I didn’t bring it up to the male server who served my food the previous night. The lady left without saying anything after taking our orders… a part of me knew she wasn’t really listening when we told her what we wanted. My fault for not going over the order after she wrote them down. The spice level wasn’t as hot as yesterday. I felt like it was one level down of spice instead of up. As we was eating our dinner, the phone kept ringing multiple of times but no one answered the phone. At first, I thought it was just one guy(the original server who I believe is the owner) was busy doing something in the kitchen but then, I assume his teenage kids, would assist running the business since they were sitting by the register. Nope. They totally ignored all the phone calls. Fast forward, we finish eating and wanted to pay. We walked up to the register, paid with 20% tip even though no one paid attention to us. Overall, the food is good for Pakistani-Indian food. Service is extremely slow but I give the owner the benefit of the doubt because it seem like it was only him running the whole entire restaurant by himself. The restaurant can use a renovation. The décor inside is just so dark and very dim lights. If they would just renovated a little, they would probably get more customers, even off season time. There’s a patio, good for good weather. I heard they offer buffet style during the Summer so if I ever revisit Lake George over the Summer, I would probably give this place a try and see which is better. They accept a lot of major credit cards, including Discover. Prices are pretty reasonable. Not cheap but not expensive either, for this tourism area. They have their own private parking lot for their customers. This is always a plus since you don’t have to find street parking and fight over a street parking space. Honestly, this is a 3 – 3.5 star restaurant to me but I’m giving the server the benefit of the doubt that he’s the only one running the whole entire restaurant so I bumped it up. Hopefully over the Summer, he has more help.

I think they are surviving only because there is no other indian restaurant in that area. The food is not even close to average indian taste. Not recommended at all.

We friends were in Lake George for a weekend. At the end of the day, wanted to taste some Indian cuisine. But food here not typical Indian taste. It was really disappointing. I would not recommend, at all, if you really want to taste a decent taste Indian food.

I’ve dined here twice and both were good experiences. The menu is extensive, with the usual Indian dishes you’ll see elsewhere, and the food was well prepared. The spiciness can be adjusted to your preference. The food quality is on par with most of the Indian restaurants in New Jersey, America’s epicenter of southeast Asian cuisine, and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant itself could use new carpets and a bit of renovation, but isn’t awful. They don’t have a liquor license, so bring your own beer or wine.

Grabbed lunch here. Wasn’t even sure it was open, but sat outside anyway. Service here was slow. If you are not used to hard tap water, I would recommend ordering bottled water. I ordered chicken pakora, lamb pelak and tikki masala. All the dishes were pretty good. I would say the lamb was the tastiest dish. I ordered naan, but it took a while to come out. Disappointed that I needed to ask for the sauces to eat with the naan. Would have dropped it to two stars, but the food was good and you the ethnic options in Lake George is limited.

Visit Date: September 4, 2015 When hubby and I noticed an Indian restaurant in Lake George we wanted to try it. Although the food was just okay, the staff was very friendly and helpful. When we went in they had a buffet set up of different food to eat. The owner told us that they have a buffet usually for the busy tourists summer season but if you come to lake george on the off season they serve dishes off the menu. I’d like to come back here and be served off the menu one time. The buffet was okay, it wasn’t great but not bad either. The naan bread was different from what I was used to but it was good and the mango lassi was good too. I would probably come back here again if we visited Lake George again.

We were in the Lake George for the long weekend and i don’t know why i craved for some rice and curry. Looked up in google and found two choices. One did not have a single good review so ended up going to Tandoori Grill. I looked up in Unilocal and saw some bad and good reviews. i thought to myself how bad it can be. I was very very wrong! The worst decision ever made and we regret it everyday. We reached there to see almost all the Buffet dishes were empty. We took some rice and asked the lady in the counter and she said they will be refilling it. So we waited. By the time there were more and more people coming up. Finally when they brought food, there were no plates, or spoons. The food served second time was so watery. The chicken was stale and tasted awful. I have never had such worse Indian food in my whole life. Chicken tikka was so bad that i cannot even describe it. I can’t believe someone can make this bad indian food. Above all the experience there was horrible. chaotic and messed up environment. People were so rude. One guy was trying to snatch the spoon from my hand when i was trying to get some Dhaal. May be they were all impatient waiting for the food. I can see many people complaining about the empty dishes in the reviews and the management makes no effort to improve it. Finally all we could get was some rice, dhaal and raita for 12.99+tax per person. While leaving we told the lady at the counter that they should plan well for buffet and her reply was ’ We are Human Beings and cannot plan for everyone’. Come on lady you are not the only person running Buffet restaurants in this world. No Buffets are prepared based on orders or appointments. What a nasty behavior. No wonder this place is so messed up. We both had upset stomach next day. I do not know how some people has give 4 stars for this restaurant. They are totally misleading. I ended up going there reading those reviews. No one again should be fooled by those reviews. That’s the reason why i am posting an elaborate review. Stay away from this place if you do not want to spoil your vacation. If they had maintained and planned it well, this place would had been awesome spot. But based on the reply from the lady i do not see any chance of improvement.

Really like this place! Haven’t found a thing on the menu we haven’t really liked yet. If you like a little spicy but not so hot your dying 6.5 is the number when they ask.

Hi i had been to this place in May 2015 and we are really happy that the food and the staff were really warm and friendly. They have a good space both inside and in the open sun with a shade cover. So choose as per weather. As i am an indian and specially a person who loves spicy food(Not stuff made with chillies) but real spices, then this place is a must in Lake George(LG). The Chef take his time in preparing the food but this wait is all worth when it is really done. We ordered Tandoori Chicken starters, Chicken Tikka Masala and Paneer Jaffery. For chicken Tikka Masala spice level of 9 and for paneer a spice level of 8 out of 10. Trust me all this spice level made the food taste like the one we get back home. For local people(US) i guess this would be a little spicy. We had ordered Naan’s to go with the curry itmes. The Onion and Garlic Naan were also very soft and nicely stuffed. The only reason i am rating them 4 stars is because they do not have any milk shakes, during summer time when it really goes into 80’s i guess milkshake will also be a great bet to refresh. They do have lassi, but i am not in for it. They have masala chai(Tea with herbs and milk) too, and this was also too good if any one has not tried it before they must. Over all i like the place a lot and will be back to this place when ever i am in LG.

This is probably one of only three ethnic restaurants in all of Lake George for those wanting something OTHER than American/Italian, which are literally the only kinds of cuisines Lake George tourists want to eat apparantely. But come on, if you’re gonna differentiate yourself, for heaven’s sake, don’t forgo all quality control! My list of things that sucked: 1. Only option was to get the buffet($ 12.99 + tax). 2. The saran wrap covering the buffet dishes was torn to shreds and mixed in with the food. 3. Nothing was refilled promptly when empty. We were scraping the last bits of at least 2 different dishes as well as both dessert offerings not to mention waiting at least 5 minutes to eat our food because there were no utensils left in the basket. 4. Every single solitary dish I tried was TERRIBLE. Absolutely TERRIBLE. The curries were watery and literally had pools of oil collecting on the top. The palak paneer had ZERO paneer pieces. 5. Food was spilled everywhere along the buffet. Couldn’t one person take just 5 minutes every now and then to make the food look at least presentable? Sheesh. The only thing that was good was the naan, which ironically was also the only thing that was served to us instead of being part of the buffet. Soft, fresh, and piping hot with a nice glistening butter finish, it was definitely the highlight of the meal. Maybe I’m spoiled by Manhattan standards, but this place really needs to be nominated for Kitchen Nightmares. If only I could’ve gone back in time — I would’ve happily eaten yet another boring pasta dish somewhere else.

I feel badly for the previous reviews but they are right. This place is outdated and can undergo some renovation and better management. But then again, it’s probably hard to find good people to work seasonally in that part of town. When it’s off season, it sort of becomes a ghost town. This place is owned by a corporate man who changed his career to become a cook. I was eavesdropping as he was making small talks to the guests at the other table… I came during an off season, so, besides myself, there was 1 other table of 3. The owner was the only person there running the joint at the time. It was so quiet, you could hear the pin drop. He served us the best way he could. And I was happy and I believe so were the guests at the other table. My food came out hot, in an authentic dish and it was so good. It hit the spot. This place has potential but only with the right staff and good cooks. Until then, I guess if you’re in the area and you wanna give this place a try, go and check it out.
