Barnsider Barbeque Restaurant

I come to Glen’s Falls/​Lake George every other week to work with client — so I’m always looking for new places to try. I’ve driven by Barnsider many times, but finally came for the first time.
I arrived at 8:30 on a Tuesday night — so not crowded at all.
I stood at the hostess stand about 3 minutes before the owner?/cook? (Who was sitting outside with friends) came and greeted me and went to find one of the servers to seat me.
Took quite a while before order was taken and then almost 25 minutes to get food. Again, not crowded at all (4 other parties of 2 in the whole place?).
Got a pulled bbq pork sandwich, which was pretty good. Nothing really to write home about. Best part about it was the bread it was on (from a local bakery I visit when here). Sweet potato/​reg fries combo was lacking much flavor.
The only thing that was great about the evening was it was a beautiful night and I was able to sit on the back porch and enjoy it. Even if the restaurant was mediocre.

I recently had my Dad’s 60^th Birthday Party catered by Barnsider and it was a complete success!!! We went with the BBQ Trio (3 meats, 3 sides). Ribs, Chicken, and Pulled Pork were all cooked perfectly. The Potato Salad was my favorite side, followed closely by the Mac and Cheese. YUM! They certainly do not skimp on the portions, because we had a decent amount of leftovers. Overall they did a great job from top to bottom; the caterer showed up on time, setup up the buffet, served the food, and cleaned up after dinner. She even stuck around to help serve the Birthday cake.
Barnsider truly goes above and beyond with quality BBQ, great flavor, and amazing service. I would highly recommend their catering services for family gatherings and corporate events.

This is THE BEST PLACE TO EAT IN LAKE GEORGE!

Love that this place is dog friendly, staff gave my dog a cool bowl of water! The food was very good as well– my dad got the pulled pork and ribs and loved it! I got a wrap which was also good. Highly recommended!

I was in the Lake George area today and looked for a place to have dinner. I checked Unilocal but found most restaurants in this area had pretty bad reviews. Well I had to eat so I settled on «Barnsider».
Turned out to be a good choice. It isn’t located on the lake but when it comes to view vs food I’ll take food every time.
I was greeted by a lovely young lady, I believe her name was Catherine. She told me she was fairly new but you wouldn’t have known it by the way she did her job. 5 stars for service.
I had the Cowboy Steak which came with two sides. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sides, rice and sweet potato fries were very good also. BTW I chose those sides but there are many choices.
Just a point, the fried came with something called Melba sauce. Never had or heard of this but I loved it.
In the end 5 stars all around. As for the reviews on this restaurant I didn’t witness any of the negatives posted.
Not sure if I’ll be back soon but I’ll definitely keep this restaurant in my file of 5 star restaurants.

Great ribs, very good service and we really enjoyed. Stakes are good but small and a bit overpriced but overall we had a good experience. Recommend.

We waited over an hour for our food then the brisket and steaks were overcooked and dry ! It was awful ! The waitresses were running ragged between the upstairs and downstairs and couldn’t remember anyone’s order ! The waitresses never came to ask us if we wanted refills on our drinks AND when we did inquire about our food being over and hour she said oh it will be coming out in a while! What did she think over an hour was! Smh ! Never will go back!

Best place to eat in (or just outside) Lake George (town of). Very good BBQ sauces. Ribs are great. Wings as well.

Decent wings, pretty solid bbq. Very nice staff, and cozy. Probably awesome in summer sitting outside. deck looks fun. Will come again.

Came in and sat at the bar at 6PM. I got a menu. Then, No one assisted me or even asked me if I wanted a drink for close to 15 minutes… Menu closed — just waiting. Servers walked by often.

Appetizers were good. Excellent nachos. Pulled pork and ribs were good. Bacon cheese burger was good but I’d want more cheese. asked for medium rare it came out as ordered. Green been fris are awesome! Nice fire pit in the back. Outside seating and ample parking in back and rear.

We were seated outside and it was like the land of the forgotten, prime rib although tasted good, was cooked more than what was requested, everything that was «barbecued» just had bbq sauce slapped on it, and the beef brisket was chopped and smothered in bbq sauce, would never recommend anyone to this place EVER

It’s just ok. We had to send some food back and the St. Louis ribs seemed like they were a couple of days old and reheated

This place is not what it used to be. Ribs and brisket very dry. Overpriced. Waitress was great but feel that the quality of food went downhill. Paid twice as much tonight rather than getting good slice of pizza. Very disappointed.

The service was good but the food was awful. We ordered Mozzarella sticks that were undercooked and tasted like flour was used as the batter. The pulled pork that came with my meal was making me nauseous so I couldn’t eat it. I ordered fried green beans which were over cooked and tasted terrible. The ribs I ordered weren’t bad but they were disappointing. I was expecting something better from a BBQ place.
We felt bad for our waitress because she was trying her hardest to take care of us. Unfortunately, we will never go back again when we are in the area.

Food was decent (pulled pork sandwich was better this trip at Cooper“s Cave) but the ribs were good. They must read the reviews because we were asked no less than 4 times by about 3 different people (maybe the owner, the hostess and our waitress) how everything was and if we needed re-​fills – and I got my water fast when I asked for it. It’s our go-​to place for decent eating in the village

Very good food. Fried green beans are great. Service at lunch was slow and impersonal. We would come back

3^rd time here, never had a problem with service. They’re always super helpful, friendly, and fast.
This time we had our dog with us and they kindly sat us outside on their beautiful deck. The waitress even made a little bowl and brought some water out for the pup. The draught list is great, the sandwiches are really tasty.
I go here knowing that the food is going to taste great, I’m going to get great friendly service, a good beer, and not pay a lot.

This was the worst bbq I have ever had in a restaurant. I’ve made far better at home. I think all they do is have the kids in kitchen unwrap the ribs pour Kraft bbq sauce on them and cook them in oven. They had no flavor. Try using a rub a few hours be cooking and make your own sauce.
I ordered St. Louis ribs which they were out of and no tator salad. All they had was baby back which is not bbq. Never going back.
