I travel for a living and have been all over the US. One of my favorite things is finding little gems like this place. I was worried about finding a good sushi place in upstate New York, but I no longer need to. Sushi was great the generals tso’s was one of the best I’ve ever had which surprised me. Will definitely be coming here as often as we can while we are living in the area!

The employee by the name of Jeff was excellent when dealing with us ordering over the phone, and when we went there to pick up, he was even more personable and friendly. While the food tasted absolutely fresh and delicious, Jeff truly made our experience with this establishment an excellent one. He was professional and thorough and seemed like an all around great guy. Thanks Jeff! Hope to see you again soon!

We sat at the bar and were very pleasantly surprised with the service. I have to say the drinks were very good, made well and the food was perfect. Staff was knowledgeable and more than helpful. We will be coming back soon…

Stumbled across this place last minute for valentine’s day as we forgot to make reservation and so glad we did. Some of the best sushi I have ever had, amazing presentation, very attentive staff. MUSTTRY: Tuna avacado salad. My only complaint is the cold temperature of the restaurant. I had to keep my jecket on for part of the night.

Tonight was my second visit with family to John’s Asian bistro. We sat at a BBQ table and ordered the meat lovers combo for two, but it was enough food to feed 2 adults and 3 kids. It also came with a large portion of fresh vegetables and the kids really enjoyed cooking our own food. The sushi is by far the best we have had in the area. We ordered the spicy tuna, spicy salmon and cucumber sushi rolls. They were excellent. The snow mountain roll is my favorite, shrimp tempura on the inside and king crab on top. The servers were very friendly and willing to help you cook your food if you need assistance. They also have a full bar. We will definitely be back.

Absolute BEST sushi and Asian cuisine I have ever had! In this area, Siam Thai has been #1 but believe me, this place is even better. Moderately priced, great service, cozy atmosphere, and very tasty Asian food to die for. Try it — you will not be disappointed!

John’s Asian Bistro is a wonderful dining experience! The Korean BBQ was so much fun and the food was unbelievable. We’ve been there three times. Twice for the BBQ and once for lunch. Had the Shrimp Tempura Bento Box Lunch and it was great. A nice variety of items in the box with Sushi and all! Highly recommended indeed!

We went to John’s last night for dinner. I have been looking forward to the opening of this place as I am a huge fan of Asian cuisine and I didn’t like seeing the old Apple Annie’s building sitting vacant. The dining room has been redone with a new bar and lighting. It still retains the old boothes. The place looks good. We ordered from the Chinese portion of the menu. I ordered the General Tso’s which came with a house salad and Miso soup. I am not usually a fan of miso, but this was delicious as was the ubiquitous house salad, with it’s ginger dressing. The General Tso chicken was the best I’ve ever had with tender pieces of chicken and a crispy coating with just the right amount of heat. My girlfriend had the pineapple fried rice which was served in a half pineapple with shrimp and scallops and was very tasty. We are looking forward to returning and trying the sushi. I don’t know anything about Korean BBQ, but we will probably be giving that a try too. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place wasn’t empty, but it was pretty quiet for a Saturday night, but, of course, they are just getting started. I highly recommend giving this place a try.

The only Korean barbecue in town! A truly unique and authentic dining experience with great service and bold flavors. Absolutely compares to similar restaurants I’ve personally visited in Beijing, China. Had a wonderful time with family and friends preparing our own barbecue to perfection. The Bui-go-gi is a must. Definitely worth a visit!

While traveling by RV and staying at the nearby Lake George Campsites, I wondered into this new restaurant for lunch today(10÷8÷2015) and it happened to be the very first meal they were serving. What a treat! I was greeted with great hospitality and made to feel like a VIP in spite of being dressed down, for the day(an old red flannel shirt only has so much fashion spence — lol). The dining room is small and rather simple with a nice bar focusing On the wall to the right as you walk in. It looks great, backlit with some cool lighting features. Once their liquor license comes through(any day now I am told) it will look even better. The staff seemed to have it together as they were working in unison pulling together a few final details to make the dining room service flow smoothly. Something I enjoyed is the all Asian staff. Sorry, but it’s kind of a pet peeve of mine when I go into any ethnic restaurant(or business) and find most of the staff is anything but members of that ethnic group… call me a racist if you want, but I enjoy the cultural experience. The entire bar was laid out with complementary Sushi that I was asked to help myself too. When I finished my first serving, they almost forced me to take seconds… I had to be polite, right? Well, being a Californian and a long way from home, I miss my good Sushi Restaurants. Johns Asian Bistro certainly can compete with the best of them. There was lots of variety of both Sushi and Sashimi… ummm. If I didn’t want to look like a pig, I could have really indulged myself. The fish was all very fresh and the rolls all expertly rolled. I took pictures of the menu — a very classy one with great selections without having tooooo much to choose from(I hate it when that happens). Great and affordable lunch specials here too. I wish Johns Asian Bistro and the warm friendly staff much success as I am certain they will be one of the areas premier restaurants in no time at all. Although I am only here for a few more days, I will try to make it back before we leave on Saturday morning.
