This place is huge!!! So much bigger than I was expecting. the bar was massive too. I sat at the bar to eat a simple lunch with my friend on a Saturday afternoon. The service was quick, the menu was ginormous as well. So many options. I couldn’t even finish my meal. Everything about this place is just huge. The service was fine and the food tasted fine. Nothing impressive. If I’m ever in LJ again, I will definitely go again.

1÷30÷16 we were waited on today by Corbi. She is a real sweetheart and provided us with excellent service. I had my favorite sandwich here«The Boss». My plus 1, Mommie Dearest, had a Ruben and we both changed our side from fries to pub chips. I like the atmosphere and the food here is so good that I’m thrilled when I leave feeling like this was a good choice. The Wurst Haus could easily be in my top five all the time if I received service like I received today. Thanks Corbi and best wishes to you and your family as you prepare to welcome your new little girl into this world.

I’ve been here for lunch several times and I have always enjoyed it. Food is pretty good the service was pretty good but it was a bit slow. I came here for a lunch meeting and it took us almost an hour to get our food. It’s lunchtime and an hour is a pretty long time to get your food, especially given that there was only a handful of people there and it was not that busy.

Arguably the best place in Lake Jackson for food and drink. There is a huge new bar which a great variety of new beer, a remodeled seating area, and a whole fresh new look. The food was already great before, but I think it got better and there are many new options. I had a few different belgian ales, some of which Ive never heard of. I had the Schnitzle, red cabbage, and fried potatos. I dont think German food could get any better. The mushroom sauce on the pork is out of this world. The red cabbage is something you shouldnt be afraid of trying either. Also it was pretty crowded as a party had a large portion if the building reserved, but our waitress, Kelly S, held it down and was super patient and friendly.

This is a great place to get some good German food and especially a beer. Great selection and always good for happy hour. The dining experience is especially enjoyable when they have a live jazz band featuring many locals ranging from students, teachers and those who just love music.

If you knew the old set up you may miss the smaller setting for dinner and small bar area. However the bar area now is one of a kind and definatley the biggest around maybe even Houston area. So many beers and so many taps. Food is always pretty good but my friends mostly come here now that the bar is bigger for a nice after work cocktail or happy hour meet up.

Awesome bar, recently remodeled, decent selection of whiskey and a lot of craft and international beers on tap. Amazing steaks!

If you’re ever down this way, this place is definitely worth stopping in. LOOOOONG tap wall with an EXCELLENT selection of Texas(and other) craft beer. My lunch plate was delicious and staff was friendly and attentive.

This place has completely taken a nose-dive recently and I’m done with it. This time I’m serious. Being seemingly the number one BAR in Lake Jackson it’s almost impossible to avoid this place. I get dragged here kicking and screaming every time I’m in Lake Jackson and, at this point, I’m done. My friends can find me elsewhere if they want to go here to drink which, at this point, is the only reason to go here and, even then, the hideous service ruins it. It’s a full-on bar selling food to avoid the implications of being a bar, but really is a bar. Any commitment to food is dead. On this most recent visit we walked in and there was no one at the host station. We waited five minutes. No one. Plenty of servers were sitting around and talking to each other though. We wanted to sit down at a table but it’s not«seat yourself» here and, knowing how haphazardly this place is run, I’m not about to just take my chances and have a seat anywhere. So we finally flagged down a server who told us to sit down at a particular table. The server whose section this was was«not» happy and made this clear to us that she was being cut and that us sitting there would be delaying her departure. After a visible argument(loud) between the server who seated us and the server whose section we were in, the original server agreed to take our table and let the other server go on her merry way. Good riddance to her foul, straight out of IHOP, attitude. The original guy was nicer anyway. I long ago gave up on the German food here. It’s disgusting, so we went American. We ordered boudin balls for an appetizer and they came out ICE cold in the middle, with a frozen center. We sent them back and they made us a new batch. These were tepid in the middle — not fully cooked in the middle but burned on the outside. Reported it to the server and we declined an offer to remake a second time. We ordered our food and it was basically a disaster. Cold burger, cold fries, an inexplicably hot sandwich, and a HAIR in the fried potatoes. Disgusting! We told the server and, although he offered, we declined to involve management. As fed up with this place as I am, I’m afraid I would have said something I would regret had i faced a manager. With so many drunks around, I’m not sure the manager would have taken me seriously anyway. Two of us paid and left and the rest of my friends stayed to drink until close. I won’t be dragged here again. This was officially my last visit to this toilet so don’t worry about further reviews from me. All bridges burned. I stated this in my previous reviews and I will state this again: This place is NOT family friendly at night and is every bit as shady after dark as any bar. After the sun goes down, do not bring your kids here. During the day is fine, but not at night.

I’m a local. This is arguably the best place in town. They definitely have the best soup in town. Live music on weekend nights. Also, the longest bar in town WITHUSBOUTLETS all along the bar. Oh, and like 100 beers on tap. If you like that sort of thing. Great spot for a tasty and healthy lunch!

Sub par tonight and when we tried to let them know one of our favorite regular dishes was off par… A young disinterested manager told us that he and the kitchen disagreed. Moreover, they didn’t correct the meal or the price and knew it was the birthday boy’s meal. Our waitress, on the other hand, was great and felt terrible for us. The place is quite empty tonight… Perhaps a sign that other things have gone wrong for others as well. Truly disappointing evening Worst Haus tonight with the worst management we have seen here.

I gave this 3 stars only because I loved the huge beer menu. I love sampling all sorts of different draft beer and the cool thing about it was the specific descriptions on where it was made! Now the food… granite I did get a chicken salads but the chicken was cold and definitely not fresh. My guest plates however were good and the got the magi magi and chicken fried chicken.

I lived here for several years and never tried it, not really a fan of german food in general. I’ve heard how popular it was since they renovated etc. and when I was in town for a visit we decided to check it out. Boy was I surprised! I sure didn’t feel like I was in LJ! TV’s everywhere and insane amount of beer choices. There was tons of seating outside and plenty of room inside. When we arrived there was a class reunion going on so I thought service would suffer but that wasn’t the case at all. The food came out pretty quick, and it was all pretty good. We had some of the german and non-german fare and it was all delicious, decadent and totally unhealthy but delicious. I had a sandwich and the bun was amazing. We asked the waiter to change one of the TV’s to the Astro’s game and he did it without hesitation. There was a band and I admit if we had been in the main room I might have been a little overwhelmed with all the people from the reunion and the band playing but the little side room we were in was perfect, we were able to talk and hear each other and still enjoy the blues band that was really good!

I ordered a burger and the patty was super small… I would not eat there again. Should really be called worst house. The place is alright for drinks and they have a lot of beer, however my boyfriend had starting eating before he got a taster of the beer he asked for. The servers excuse was sorry she has a lot of tables. The manager did give us a $ 20 credit which is something but I don’t know when I will be returning to use that.

I haven’t been schooled on what to expect on a restaurant that serves German food but this is a decent place to try if you’ve never been to one in your life like I havn’t. Judging from the reviews it seems a lot of people are a little disappointed at this place but it’s done well for me. You will find this restaurant a little hidden but not totally if you drive down a street strangely named«That Way». It will be on your right hand side and parking is a plenty. As you step in you will notice there is a patio where you can also enjoy your meal. Once you step inside you are transformed into a semi dark restaurant where the host will greet you and lead you to your table. Handed a menu you will notice there is a pretty good selection of foods as well as descriptions for those of us non versed in German food. I can’t tell you if it’s all authentic but for first timers it’ll do. After viewing the menu if you will look up if you havn’t noticed already there is a decent sized bar with tapped beer for your drinking selection pleasure. Try not to order them all because it’s eye appealing as it is tempting. I had the Schnitzels which I would describe as a pork tender instead of chicken tender. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t exactly as how I explained it but it was the best. The batter is truly something different than what you would think of a tender but come in cylindrical finger food form. Next I tried the sausage plate which they call Bratwurst here. The traditional German and the Cheddar Bratwurst had a mild seasoned flavor that you will also probably note is not something that you can just go down to your local HEB and have. Accompanied with this were the sourkraut(how do you not try a German restaurant and not try the saurkraut right?) and the potatoes au gratin(wait, that wasn’t German was it? hmm). Service was good but this was at 4:00 pm so no test of a meal rush can be reviewed at this time.

After one bad experience, I have had many many positive ones here at the Wurst Haus. I appreciate them replying so quickly to my review. They clearly care about their customers and strive to be the best at their business. As far as the food goes, I wouldn’t call any of it the best I ever ate, but the food is solid. The goulash soup is amazing. The sausage selection is top notch. The sandwiches always hit the spot when I want one. Everything else is good. Nothing to write home about, but good. However, their beer menu by far makes up for it. So, amazing beer selection + pretty decent food = a place I still frequent often and will continue to frequent.

100+ taps makes this place stand out, but the food is lackluster. Although they serve some German dishes, the majority of their food is what you would find at any other bar, and just about as mediocre as well. Service is also consistently terrible.
