Gosh, I hate to tell you about this place because it’s busy enough on weekend mornings but… This is just a great, typical, cozy coffee shop — one that every town MUSTHAVE. The cycling theme adds a unique charm! We love to walk here and sit in the warm interior or outside if it’s nice. The owner is delightful and the staff are hard working. Oh, the coffee? The regular is fine(not my taste) but the«fancy» drinks — mochas, lattes, frozen cremes, etc are delicious! Try the pumpkin spice or harvest spice mocha if it’s in season! Enjoy!

First things first: Pedaling by far has the best quick brewed coffee in Leelanau County(now that Frida’s is no longer in existence) but I give it 3 stars purely because of the customer service. Coffee drinkers need coffee first thing in the morning. It’s what wakes us up and keeps us going. So naturally you would expect to enter a coffee shop and the barista has a smile on her face handing you coffee. Not at Pedaling Beans.(The owner smiles, but that’s about it.) No one likes going to get their coffee and the first interaction with another human is so sour because of the baristas attitude which completely throws your morning out of the window. I wish I could say only I have had this experience but unfortunately the customer service has been the topic of discussion on plenty occasions with many different people. It’s also the fact that I’m a local. I pay 2.07 for your coffee almost 4 times a week yet still get treated like an unwanted tourist. One other suggestion: move your hand pumped coffee to the outside and let customers drop money in a jar and self serve their own coffee. We’re in a rush to get to work and don’t have time to stand in a long line to then have grumpy baristas snark and scuff at you in the morning. Brew does self serve and it works in the city so it would definitely work in this trusting county. I really don’t mean to be rude but after 2 years of being a customer I felt the need to say something because it hasn’t changed one bit.

Sour milk. Sour response. Overall poor experience. Was surprising because we usually have a good experience.

Very rude to cyclists. Since the sale of the business this place as gone down hill. No more cycling memerobilia, you can’t touch anything on the counter inches away from your hands. No restroom visit after a long journey unless you buy something. No more visits from our group. We enjoyed years of riding to this place for ice cream and espresso. No more icecream and friendly staff. Bummer.

The cookie & espresso were good, but the service was surly. Slim selection of baked goods. Prices were good but you can do better.

Still excellent. I drove over here today and saw they had a pumpkin spice latte sign up out front. I ordered a pumpkin spice chai blended frappucino type thing, it was really really good, let me say and repeat. Delicious. Pumpkin spice season is the very best thing. Ahhh.

Best coffee around Lake Leelanau. Pumpkin Spice latte and hot chocolate won rave reviews in our group. Friendly staff and convenient hours.

It’s hard to fathom how bad my latte was. Nice pastries, shop, staff. I feel bad giving them a poor review, but it was simply the worst latte I’ve ever had. Imagine the espresso was made from folgers and then burnt. Hopefully a one off error.

We stopped for a coffee on a Saturday afternoon. It was a cute coffee shop and had free wifi. The service was friendly. We both had the signature mocha drink. Unfortunately, neither drink was very good.

Pedaling Beans is a great place to pop in and grab a coffee on the go. Never had a bad latte from these guys! If you get a chance, try the better morning muffin. It’s delicious.

I happened upon Pedaling Beans last Sunday as I was touring Leelanau County on my bike. What a great spot. The two lovely young ladies were so cordial. I cant wait to stop back soon!!!

I have to second the reviewer who commented on the nice foam — like biting into a pillowy cloud. It’s also a fun place to strike up conversation with the locals, and there’s definitely plenty of inspiration on the walls. Along with the coffee, we picked up a couple cookies and a muffin. I noticed they also had some ice cream, which we’ll have to try next time. I have to comment on the bathroom — IMMACULATE.

This has become a regular stop during our visits in the Leelanau… the staff is always very friendly; the(locally roasted) coffee and iced tea is always delicious. They also stock a variety of mostly locally sourced baked goods — huge muffins and brownies and croissants.
