Great service! Great view! The eggplant parmesan was almost perfect. Great experience. Would definitely go again.

Food was great, service was excellent but parking was a little tight and slim picking but may be due to us being here on mothers day. Over all this is a restaurant that will suit about anyone. My only negative side is that some of the food I repeat some of the food is over priced, example chicken fingers. The pizza is awesome. The restrooms are very clean also.

Stopped by here after climbing chimney rock. The food is amazing. Yes those garlic knots are the best I have ever had and I have tasted a lot. The waiter was excellent and very friendly. I would highly recommend this place if you are ever visiting this area.

We came to Wyndham at lake lure to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We have been here before and always plan a meal at this special restaurant. The service has always been great and the food never disappoints. This time it was lasagna and the penne Italian sausage basil broccoli tomato pesto sauce. Yum. Portion for pasta dish gave leftovers. Of course the garlic rolls are indescribable. Oh yes sit outside for the best view.

So good! My husband and I were in the area for our ten year wedding anniversary and we were craving a steak. Someone referred us to La Strada’s and we were a little skeptical at 1st as this was a Italian restaurant. Boy am I glad we went. Best steak we have had in a long time. We split it because it was a 16 oz bone in ribeye. It came with some amazing garlic mashed potatoes. The garlic rolls that come out before dinner are the best I’ve ever had. Margarita’s were on point. Customer service was great and the view was amazing. Five stars!

First time here. The service was great! The food was served fast and was delicious. The restaurant was very clean including the restroom. We stopped in for a light lunch and a drink but will definitely come back when we are in the area.

Nice staff, nice place, decent pizza. We took it to go, asked them to under-cook the pizza since we would have to heat it up. It was definitely NOT undercooked and we were disappointed at how flat the«Sicilian thick crust» was. Other than that, it was pretty good. I give it a 4 based on available foods in the vicinity.

We ate here about 8 years ago and it’s still in business, it’s my guess things must have improved. Our home town has many family owned Italian restaurants, so we may high standards for this type of cuisine. I had an veal parm and my wife had the eggplant parm. The sauce was very bland(perhaps store bought?) and both dishes were smothered with too much mozzarella cheese(I never thought I could say that as I love cheese), The service was very good and views from the dining room windows were very nice. We may try this place again…

Discovered La Strada in Pineville, NC20 years ago by chance and fell in love with the food and the people. My family moved from the area in 2000 and we always reminisce about the meals we shared there. Found out that the Pineville restaurant closed and it was a sad day for our stomachs. I was doing some research on TripAdvisor for a trip to Asheville and came across a restaurant with a familiar name. I thought it was too good to be true. My wife and I decided we had to try it out. Lo and behold, the restaurant and owners were the ones from Pineville. The food is as wonderful as we remembered. I started salivating when I smelled the garlic knots and it took me back 15 years in time. I had the Italian Sampler with Fettuccine Alfredo. My wife had the lasagna and she enjoyed her dish as much as I did. Ambience was top-notch and service was wonderful.

Wow. This was a very pleasant surprise. Stopped here after a pretty active morning for a quick bite of lunch. We weren’t expecting much. But the views were amazing. Hubby and I each had a glass of wine and shared a Caesar side salad and small cheese pizza. The pizza is what really surprised us. It was very good. Great crisp crust. Flavorful sauce. Yummy cheese. We will definitely be back. Menu was varied with something for everyone. On a pretty fall Saturday afternoon this place was packed. Patio overlooking the lake is gorgeous.

We went on a Tuesday afternoon and had no trouble seating our large party of 11. Our waitress was very friendly. We ordered a few drinks and a couple of orders of calamari to start. Drinks were good but calamari was not very good.(Give that one a pass.) The salads should be complimentary with the price of the pasta, but are an up charge. They need to cut back on the Caesar dressing, also. Those of us that ordered pasta dishes were happy. The pizzas were also good, although they were a bit greasy and not really brick oven because they are cooked on a pan and lack the brick oven flavor. Still, they were quite tasty. Overall a good experience.

We had a great meal at La Strada. The view was fantastic and while we were totally exhausted from hiking Chimney Rock, we perked right up at La Strada! The kids(and dad!!) all RAVED about their French Fries. Dad thinks that maybe they were fried in duck fat, because they were the best fries any of them had ever had. I wish they would have let me taste one!

I wasn’t sure what to expect since we typically pass through Lake Lure without dining there. La Strada had a fantastic selection of items on the menu. I decided on the Lobster/Crab Lasagna and was surprised at the flavor that was packed into my dish. It was a little heaver than I am used to, but the flavor made up for it. Great place to eat if you are in Lake Lure.

I think this place had one of the best PIZZAs! Super fresh ingredients and the NY style crust was amazing. That is all you really need to order, along with a couple of beers. We tried the shrimp appetizer, and although it was super fresh it was really nothing special. My fiancé had the pistachio crusted trout and he liked it as well. But that Veggie Pizza… I would some there again just for it, LOVEDIT!

Some other reviewer took the words right out of my mouth. «Variety bar food that is passed off in an upscale manner.» Is EXACTLY what this place is. The bread we were served was oily with minced garlic out of a jar. No salt, no flavor, inedible. The crab bisque I had was ok until I crunched down on some shells. When I told our waitress she smartly replied, «that’s normal for fresh crab» — no I’m sorry, are you ok, did you cut your tongue… The past salad was surprisingly good and flavorful. The chicken sandwich I had was dry, and there was yellow iceburg lettuce kind of chunked at the top. Not a leaf or presentable in any manner. Does one piece of Romaine or green leaf lettuce cost that much more? The sandwich was edible, nothing fancy, no blackened spice flavor. Basically bar food. My friends salad looked pretty ok, but nothing fancy. The chicken may have been grilled but it was flat and looked dry. Service was ok but not that great. We’ve all waited before in the past so we know what great service was. Over priced and the manager’s passive aggressive response to legitimate concerns makes me think they really just don’t care. The décor in the place is nice but the food is mediocre. It might be amazing for the local area where people aren’t accustomed a more evolved palette but the managers and owners could try to do better. I really wouldn’t recommend. You essentially are paying for the view and the food quality is subpar for the prices.

Hit or miss at the La Strada. Came over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and was left uninspired. La Strada has a decent rep with the locals but then again, in this touristy and somewhat remote area, there is not much competition. At first glance it appears to be Italian but the menu is confused. From pizza to bbq, burgers and even an Asian steak dish(which we did not order) there seemed to be a bit of something for everyone. The ambiance was not particularly warm or inviting. Although there were nice views of the lake, the whole restaurant felt more like 2000’s corporate office than it did 2014 fine restaurant. There were no standouts or real focus about the menu. Rather than try to do a few things well it seemed to be more focused on having a large variety and doing many things in the same mediocre way as everything else. I think the best description of the entire menu would be «Variety bar food that is passed off in an upscale manner.» We sat at the Bar and service was very prompt, professional and friendly, wish we could say the food was as good. It did not take long for our food to arrive despite the restaurant being somewhat busy, however everything we ordered was just average. The burger was a very standard, nothing special or unique to be raved about and the pizza we ordered was on the greasy side and comparative to any other chain pizza place you would eat at. The drink menu was middle of the road as well with no interesting taps, wines or selection micro-brews to be found. If you love bar food or think greasy pizza and a standard burger and fries are right up your alley then I would try La Strada, but other wise I would try for a place that cares more about its menu and the overall experience of it patrons. Decent service only goes so far when serving average to below average food from a muddled and confused menu.
