They have closed the business. First visit was so so. Went back again this weekend and they are gone.

The first time I ate here, the service was absolutely horrible. Now, I’ve been a waitress in the past, and by no means am I good, but this was just ridiculous. The restaurant was dead, maybe two other tables and only one waitress, which should have been okay, even for me, but clearly from reading the reviews, even one table would be too much. The food was okay, but there are plenty of other places with better food and service. A few months later, we must have subconsciously blocked our visit out of our heads, but we went back. Again, horrible service, drinks, and food was okay. I need to write a review, just so I remember to never go back to this place. I honestly can’t believe they’re still in business.

After this lovely message back from my post. instead of giving them another chance, I posted this in my company’s break room and passed it on to my friends at the bank downstairs. Instead of an apology I get a FUCKYOU. nice dude, really nice.

I popped in here after work at my friends request, as my friend had enjoyed great meals and service here. By the end of our visit, she was surprised by downward slide in food, service and experience. I tried to pull up the menu online, the website was expired. It’s still expired, 2 weeks later. I mentioned this to my friend and asked if they were still open, so she tried calling, no answer. We showed up figuring if they were closed, we’d just go elsewhere in the plaza. But, they were open! We mentioned both issues to the server, the only staff in the front of the restaurant, and we were told«oh». The first margarita(on happy hour) wasn’t bad. It wasn’t great, either. The second round had the very obvious yellow tinge and tang of packaged sour mix, no tequila taste. The guac was good, freshly made and nice chunks of avocado. The chips were good too. The salsa, was not. It was not fresh and had a fermented tomato taste from salsa gone bad, it was returned and did not appear on our bill. We had already both ordered the cheese enchiladas, they arrived as(not fresh) corn tortillas with a paltry amount of cheese– like a quesadilla. No sauce, and the«enchiladas» had the texture of being nuked or overcooked under a salamander. The service was slow and not welcoming, which was odd as we were the only patrons in the restaurants for most of our visit.

Terrible microwaved food! We arrived at noon and there was one diner in the restaurant. That should’ve been a sign. They had one waitress on staff and one cook. They have an «open kitchen» that you can see into thru the glass. The entire time we were there, we were unable to see ANY cooking. We also did not smell any cooking. Both of our glasses were dirty. There was no salt or pepper on the table(nor on any table). I ordered chicken enchiladas verde, and my co-worker ordered a veggie burrito. Please note that they do not give you free chips and salsa(at least not at lunch), so we had to pay for it. The chips were cold and the salsa was watery with NO flavor. We attempted to «season» the salsa by getting up from our seats to get salt from the server’s station. Unfortunately, the salt did not help at all. We got up again to get hot sauce from the server’s station– that didn’t help the salsa, either. We had to get our own condiments because the«solo» waitress was missing most of the time. I went to the bathroom and there was no toilet paper and they had dinner napkins sitting out to act as paper towels. When I walked out of the bathroom, I looked into the kitchen and I saw the waitress putting something in the microwave. I got back to my table and I said– I knew it! They are microwaving everything here(we both thought that we heard a microwave going off earlier). The waitress brought out our food and the microwaved rice was so steamy and burning up hot– it had no flavor. My co-worker’s burrito was literally the size of a taco bell soft taco(for $ 11) — he said that it was very bland. My enchiladas were covered with a very weird sauce posing as verde sauce, but it was CREAMY. They were so bland. The black beans were clearly from a can– no flavor whatsoever. My co-worker ended up pouring hot sauce all over his food, but there was nothing that could save it. Between the dirty glasses, bad food, lack of service, under-supplied bathroom, and microwave cooking technique, we will NEVER be back again.

The have the best happy hour menu! The place seems always empty, knowing that its a nice place! Love the salsa, nachos, fries calamari. They don’t open on Sunday which is sad! But definitely people need to stop by and try it.

Chavo recently opened for lunch, and their level of discomfort to this new concept is brutally evident. They have Taco Tuesday specials, but their menu is not updated with the new prices. Which also made it troublesome when it comes time to ringing up our checks. At the time we visited, it seemed as though there was only one server working, which made the entire process painfully slow. It was about 50 minutes from the time we sat down on their broken seats(watch for the green fuzz that may stick to your butts as you leave) to the time we got our food. And no, we didn’t take that long to figure out what we’d like to order. I had their enchiladas lunch meal that came with rice and beans. But as usual, I passed on the beans and got double rice instead. I could’ve just gotten the one order of rice, because it was as bland as can be. The tortillas were extremely dry and brittle, the chicken equally dry, and something tasted off with their steak. My co-workers ordered different types of tacos and deemed them«just OK». Not sure if perhaps dinner is better, but I’d rather go to Moe’s a few doors down than return to Chavo.

As soon as my bf and I walked in there was a foul odor. Then we were greeted with an unfriendly server who sat us. We ordered the guac and fundido which was quite tasty. Then came our taco entrees, lobster tacos, carne and chorizo tacos. SALTY, SALTY, SALTY! It was so bad I could not eat the food. I left hungry because I did not finish my entrée. I will not be going back.

We were a group of five that ended up here because Fishbones(our original destination) was too crowded. We walked in to a pretty much empty restaurant at 7pm on a Friday night and asked if we had reservations. We were there for 2 ½ hours at no time was this place that busy! It is very spacious — the décor is OK — one wall by the bar looks unfinished. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas — save your money– it was terrible. I don’t think there was any alcohol in this drink. Our server was not very attentive, we had to ask multiple times for drinks, chips and to let her know we were ready to order. We would ask a question and she would walk away. I blame little or no training. I did not see anyone that looked like a manager. The food was decent, I had rock shrimp tacos. I don’t know why they battered and fried them I would have preferred them grilled or sauteed. My friends had burritos and chimichangas — each dish came with a HUGE portion or rice and beans. It looked out of proportion with the main dish. I mean really how many beans can you eat in one sitting there must have been 1 ½ cups of beans! We ordered churros for desert and they took forever — we almost forget we ordered them and were ready to leave when they came to the table. It wasn’t a bad experience but i will l not go back, there are too many choices in the area and mediocre is not going to get my business. If they don’t make major changes I don’t see it lasting. OH! I almost forgot — while in the restroom a staff member walked out of the stall and out the door and DIDNOTWASHHERHANDS!

Decided to check this place out with my boyfriend and his friend. Was hesitant when we walked in, it was a little dead. But it was a Monday night, so I’ll give them that. There is outdoor seating, which we took full advantage of on such a beautiful night. The drinks we ordered took a little longer than expected for a not so busy night. Top shelf margaritas seemed a bit watered down, didn’t seem worth the money. The server was excellent, friendly and attentive. Now the food… Ordered bacon guacamole — delicious. Chavos Nachos with chicken — enough to feed a small army, also delicious. We should have stopped at the nachos, for 3 people it was a ton of food already. I ordered the chicken tingas — spicy chicken tacos with a chipotle aioli sauce — phenomenal. Not too spicy where you couldn’t eat them, had the right amount of heat. Boyfriend ordered the chicken burrito, came with a side of rice and black beans. He said it was one of the best burritos he’s had in a long time. Friend ordered enchiladas, also served with rice and beans and, he tipped with Mexican flag(three different sauces) he also agreed that the food was excellent. Would definitely go back when in the area. Not sure how long they have been open, seems like a great place.
