This is supposed to be a family type restaurant not a concert hall. Rather the food is good or bad why can’t you sit and eat without having to wear ear plugs. It’s a restaurant and bar but you can’t hold a conversation because you can’t even hear yourself speak. It’s more of a disco vs a restaurant. Dancing when there is really no room for dancing, very lound band… drums lound as can be. I walked in and the girl that’s taking your name for tables can’t even hear. It hurrible. I don’t think anyone can hear themselves speak. Even sitting outside the music is very annoying and loud. You have to walk over 200 feet away and still you can hear the pounding drums, imagine trying to eat there… Inside or outside. It’s gotta be annoying to its neighboring restaurants customers as well. Families who just come to have a peaceful quite dinner with their kids. Yet must yell to talk to the person sitting right next to them. Music on a Friday or Saturday night is ok. But at what point does it become a nuisance? When it bothers the guests and residents living near by and specially your kids. I live across the street and I can’t sleep. I work late on Friday nights. I once asked the Mgr if they could not play so loud. He told me they have been there over 20 years and I should have asked before moving there. He claims complaining to the City won’t do any good nor can anyone else do anything to stop them from playing loud, it is what it is. He stated there is nothing he can do its the way it is. He said I can talk to his boss if I wanted to but that won’t do change it either. So I have had to call Seminole County Sheriff. I plan to go to City Hall today to encounter about the noise ordinance. You can walk 200 feet away from the restaurant and still hear the loud pounding of the music. The restaurant is to small for the band and the music is not contained inside the walls even with doors closed. The restaurant is not staged for this type of sound and it should not be allowed. I wonder if it can also cause possible ear damaged to the customers or children. Dexters should serve it’s food and let the people enjoy the restaurant with there kids and family with light music vs the lound band music. And be considered of the other restaurants in the area and there customers with family and residents that live a few feet away.

Always have loved this place. Their fish specials are always on point. I’ve had their brie appetizer, parmesan pasta shells, fish specials, salads, sandwiches, and lunch specials. i am never disappointed!

I’ve been eating at Dexter’s since they were in their original location in Winter Park. I’ve eaten at this Lake Mary Dexter’s dozens and dozens of times. Dexter’s is absolutely, positively my favorite restaurant in all of Central Florida. The food is delicious, original, and super consistent. They have tried and true fare that they’ve had since the early 90’s that everybody loves, and then they have the cool, new, and funky fare that seems to come and go into and out of style. I love that I can still get one of the best Ceasar salads in the region, the cha-cha chips, and the chicken tortilla pie that they’ve had for years, and also chose from some funky new stuff. The atmoshpere is a tad bit funky, casual but a bit nicer casual, with a stylish and«cool» crowd. The service is freaking fantastic! Sit at the bar and you’ll be treated like a friend and neighbor. Sit at a table and you’ll get fast service, or if they’re behind for some reason they’ll let you know they see you, apologize, and you’ll probably get an apology from the manager on duty. Their music after 9pm is a blast! The crowd is more professional, but ready to have harmless fun and party the night away.

This is my favorite restaurant, that I frequent at least once a week. Highly recommend the«make your own sandwich» option & the turkey burger(when in rotation). However, note to the management — the hostess having no dress code and being allowed to wear strapless short dresses and flip flops to work… really brings the whole place down a level. It’s so unprofessional looking and takes away from the high-class boutique restaurant feel.

Had another afternoon lunch here. Salmon salad was good. Fish was a bit overdone as I ordered it but it was good. A good place to grab a lunch really anytime.

A great place to have lunch with outdoor seating under an umbrella on a sunny day with a slight breeze. Service and salad was outstanding! Highly recommend!

Well the bar service was pretty bad today. Seems like if you aren’t a local you were hard pressed to get served a drink of any kind. The bartender was very attentive to the regulars but a new guy like me I had to wait a pretty long time, before I had to flag the bartender down to serve me. The bar wasn’t packed at all so honestly there was no excuse for the lack of service. Well maybe I’ll try it again next week I’ll see how it goes.

I’ve heard a lot of things about Dexter’s, but this was my first and last visit. I guess this place is only for hooking up. My first impression as I walked in and noticed all the heavily made up female wait staff, all dressed like some old version of Madonna. There are a lot of chains like this though, so who am I to judge? Next look, 95% of the clientele sitting around the very large bar, all looking like they’re trying way too hard to impress. Kind of reminded me of high school. These are the folks that never got over being the popular kids. I hated high school because of these people. I’m here for the food though, right? Ordered the French dip sandwich with the truffle fries… even though my server said EVERYTHING on the menu was great. The sandwiches bread was SO toasted that when you tried to bite it, it just shattered… like a croûton. Dipping it in the aujus didn’t help much. The fries, even though tasty enough, were barely warm, and 95% of them were about an inch long… like they were leftovers. My server was very pleasant, and very helpful, but this wasn’t a very good first experience. I’ll leave this place for those trying to relive their glory days.

Party of 8. Came in for brunch. Hostess told us it would be a 20 minute wait. An hour later we were still waiting. Hostesses ignored us completely the entire time and were unapologetic and curt when we approached them, which was only once. Hostesses need training. The bartenders were great, but we still wasted 70 minutes of our day.

Great spot for brunch on the weekend. We love the bottomless mimosas! The bacon is also amazing! It gets pretty busy so you have to get there early.

I normally go on Friday or Saturday nights to hear the live local bands. Food is decent and the drinks are great. Certainly a great place to people watch.

Great spot on Thursday evenings! I was visiting from Houston and decided to stop and have a dinner. The food was okay but not great. What happened as the evening went on what is giving it the rating. Apparently on Thursday night is ladies night. The music was the mid to late 80’s and the women ranged from about late 20’s to seasoned women(I meat a grandmother!), to be PC. The place was great, there had to be a 1 to 4 ratio men to women! The music was great it kept people on the floor dancing and the atmosphere was fun, everyone was there to have a great time. I will visit again and next time I will try a different meal. The fish I had was dry. I cannot tell you price because I had food, beverages, etc. But I can tell you had a great time and burning up the dance floor, I could not get off kept getting drug on to the floor!

Had the crab cakes and house salad. Very good. Dressing was excellent, needed to ask for more. My brother had the lamb burger with homemade chips, and it was very good as well! Definitely a good spot to stop in for lunch!

I had an excellent dinner of Shrimp and Scallops finished things off with an excellent crème brûlée. The shrimp and scallops were to die for — perfectly seared. The scallops were buttery, melt in your mouth goodness. Yummy deluxe.

5 stars for service. «Brett Farve» was an excellent server — very knowledgable and enthusiastic about the dishes! Today my meal was a 3 star, which saddens me, because I love Dexter’s. I had the Mahi bahn mi and it was not that great. The fish was dry and overcooked, there wasn’t much of the radish topping, and all the sauce was in the crevice of the bread, so the majority of the sandwich was sauceless. My coworkers all enjoyed their meals and the bite of the eggplant dish I had was delightful. I’ll definitely get that next time.

The staff was incredible. They were courteous and attentive. I had the quesadilla special and it was the best tasting quesadilla I’ve had in a while. Although this location is further away… I’d come again!

Service, 5 stars. Very nice on the inside. Awesome customer service. I was with 3 other people. Their portion size of their meals were pretty huge. I saw it was $ 1 burger tuesday and i wasnt really all that hungry. So I decided to get one of those. They’ll get you with 50 cents per topping if you really load it up. Which in my case I only needed two toppings. BUt the size of this burger. In regards to the meat patty was for lack of a better word. «Sad» Imagine putting a full size shirt in the dryer by mistake and you shrink it 2 sizes. Thats kind of what this meat patty looked like. Like someone tossed the burger in a dryer and it shrunk. It was thin and small. You could literally get a better burger at Burger King. The only reason I didnt knock more stars off is probably because I wasnt really hungry to begin with, so it wasnt a big deal, and the service was out standing. Also I tried bites from some of the other food that was brought out and it was good. Would I return, sure, would I ever order a burger from here again. No way

Located in the Colonial Town Park Plaza in Lake Mary/Heathrow/Sanford area. This large wine bar & restaurant has a great selection of small plates, appetizers, salads and full blown entrees. A nice outside patio with umbrellas to enjoy an after work beverage or dinner. Service is friendly and prompt. Happen to be by when the new 5 – 7 small plates & cocktail menus were being introduced. There were a lot of nice choices for beverages and food. The manager stopped by all of the tables to talk about the new menu and ask if all was well. Nice touch. Be sure to follow their facebook, as this location has different specials than Winter Park and Thornton Park. The cocktails we enjoyed were made nicely, food was yummy and the classic Cha Cha chips were delicious.

I came here with my wife one Friday evening, to hear my cousin’s band, Bender perform. The place was jammed packed with people, and so were the surrounding restaurants and bars. My wife and I sat down in the bar area and we had an artichoke crab dip appetizer. It was rather quite tasty. This appetizer was accompanied by some margarita cocktails. They too were quite tasty. The service from our waitress was really good, considering the place was jam packed full of people and it made it difficult for her to make her way through the crowd. The band went on at about 10PM. I must say my cousin’s band plays very well. I went here just to listen to Bender, but this really isn’t my kind of establishment because it is just too noisy for my comfort level. When I have to scream at my wife, so that she can hear what I’m asking, or what I’m saying. This is not the kind of environment I want to be in.
