The service was great and the food was ok, but for the price I’m wishing I would have gone somewhere else. I ordered a tuna cream cheese roll. My roll had a huge block of cream cheese and very little tuna and was about $ 9. Good place just not impressed.

Food is good but their happy hour offering needs to be revisited by management They really only have vodka specials especially on ladies night Come on amura. There are plenty of ladies that don’t do vodka so that leaves this spot out as an option for our ladies night out

I hate giving bad reviews, but when I feel I need to share I do. We did the Hibachi grill. We did not have reservations, so I will say, I was pleased they sat us right down. The service was good up to this point. When our cook came out, he was not very talkative or entertaining. 1 joke and it was bad. My wife had double chicken, I paid the upgrade for the Filet Steak and Shrimp. The steak was great, but all he had to do was warm it. The shrimp was bland. The chicken was straight out of the freezer. I finished my whole meal, by the time my wife got the chicken. It was rubbery as I have ever had. We had cokes, that were watered down, like no tomorrow. Had to get our own take home container,(we fed all the chicken to our dogs). We finally had to take our check up front, because no one came back at all. So food was ok, chicken was bad. Watered down drinks, and below average service. The cook big 0 You have been warned, choose Kobi or Osaka, much better experience.

Skip this place, as stated by others I found the staff to be rude. Wouldn’t honor a simple request on a drink order and happy to let our party of 6 walk right out the door over it. Very smug about it. Plenty of other choices in that area.

I’ve been coming here for 8 years or so. In the beginning, the restaurant was really good. The service was spot on and the food remarkable. But then, something changed where I saw a decline in both. About a dozen or so poor experiences caused me to stop coming here. I decided to give it another try and I am glad to say the experience was improved. Our party of 7 was seated promptly. My first impression was our waiter(Harry) was very engaged and accommodating. He told a few jokes and was very polite and attentive. In my opinion, the food was much better than my last few visits. Our server, Harry, made recommendations on drinks and the appetizers he believed to be the house specialties. One interesting item was the Peking Rice, which was by far the best I can remember. If I could think of one area they could improve upon would be to train the waitstaff to have the level of service that we received from Harry. Overall, I would recommend giving Amura another try if you haven’t been here in a while.

Excellent calamari and very fresh sushi! Excellent full cuts of fish in the rolls with no minced artificial crap.

I ordered sushi to go for lunch, I got the 12 pc. Lunch special. Sushi was tasty, rice was ver flavorful. My friend got sesame chicken lunch and it was a lot of food. Both were delicious.

I was really hoping this location would better than the one in Downtown Orlando, but I was sadly mistaken. The only thing worth coming here for, is the Lobster Bisque. Other than that, save your time and $$. Host were very gracious and accommodating, however our server had no knowledge on the food and never the less knew nothing about sushi. Last but not least, when the sushi came out, you can tell that it was sitting out for quite sometime and to make matters worse the Eel I ordered was ice cold, yes ICECOLD. Once again when I asked the server about it, he said, «oh, I’m not sure let me ask». He comes back and tells me the following: «the manager has explained that depending on the sushi chef that evening, they serve it hot or cold». Yup, DEPENDINGONTHECHEF!!! Needless to say, this is bad, REALLYBAD!!! I should have known better. #epicfail

Not as good as it used to be. Overpriced. Food does not have the same quality as it used to. The cooks don’t care about the food. The lobster bisque was too salty. The sushi rolls presentation was off. Rolls looked old and gross. And the ninja crispy tuna dish used to be my favorite. But now it tastes so much different and like the cooks aren’t paying attention to the recipe. So I won’t be coming back for a while. I like maru sushi and grill much better. And it’s just 5 min away and closer to my house. And much much better quality sushi. No I don’t work for maru. I just love maru much much more. Don’t waste your money here.

Overpriced. Terrible service. Rude staff. Came here for our teammates birthday dinner and had high hopes for some yummy Asian cuisine. However we were sorely disappointed when a chicken entrée at an Asian restaurant turned out to be fried chicken with a sweet dipping sauce. Something like you could order at KFC. The vegetables on the side were extremely bland, and since when does fried chicken go with white rice? Not at all what we were envisioning when ordering the«crispy chicken.» When our shocked faces were extremely disappointed with what was served in front of us, the waitress was not helpful at all. She just stood there essentially saying sucks to suck you should know what you’re ordering. I’ve been going to Asian restaurants my entire life and have never seen a chicken entrée this style. We sadly ate our fried chicken unwillingly because she would not budge on getting us another entrée that was more what we were envisioning. Other teammates also had bad experiences with the sushi. They said that the spider roll was crumbling apart and was a little too raw for their liking. Not only were the food and waitress disappointing, but the meals were served at staggered times. This left hangry girls staring at their plate longingly until all was served and we could dig in. All in all we definitely will not be returning again. We spent way too much money on overpriced food and service.

This has always been my favorite Sushi restaurant in Orlando. They spend more money on buying the highest quality fish in Orlando then anyone else. I recommend the volcano roll you want find another this good any place else.

As a culture fan I had to laugh from the start, but the food was awesome and the service was very attentive. I fit the bill and for a 2nd date locale it was great! Couldn’t get over the over the top asian accents that everyone was using but it makes me want to go back and see them again for the chuckle… Prices were reasonable and the quality of the presentation was in line with the prices. Often I’m going in places recently and you are paying top dollar for something I have seen 20 times before that wasn’t impressive… but the creativity here was good too! Definitely a fan and hoping my next visit makes me change this to a 5 star!

A very rough visit. Given the prices, the experience was majorly lacking. As far as the venue, outside seating is far better than the kitschy neon themed inside(also a bit cold inside too). From the very start, service was shallow. The server was unable to recommend a Japanese beer and ordering was overall awkward. When the food arrived, half the party received their non-sushi dishes while the others had to wait an additional 20mins for theirs. This created a strange dynamic that some people felt guilty for being full and the others were restless/starving. When the sushi arrived, it was just… Ok. The recommended Super Mexican was a total miss and the others didn’t taste too fresh. The kitchen was off last night and my beer was never refreshed :( Thank God dessert was a bit of saving grace. But after seeing an expensive bill, it is not a place I’d go back to.

My first visit was on Christmas Day. –Yasss folks, we were not looking forward to cooking and cleaning up afterward so we got dressed and searched around for a place that was open and thank goodness Amura was. Walking in, the place gave me a really good impression off the bat. The décor is very stylish and I loved that they were playing remixes of top 40’s. For a minute I felt like I was at the club(in a good way). The food — DELICIOUS. I’ve had plenty of sushi at other places but I can tell right away this was fresh and of good quality — so far the best sushi I’ve had. I had the Volcano Roll and it was amazing. If you guys love crab– this is a must. Service– hmmmmm our waiter could have been better. He was attentive but the service was nothing to brag about which sucked since everything else was on point. The only way I can describe was — you know those waiters who have the most to say when they are giving you the check? Yeah, he was one of those. I will be going back for the food and hopefully we get an outgoing waiter. Anyways guys, I hope this helps. Besitos! Amanda

If your craving some good sushi, you need to try this place. I recommend going on a Sunday from 12 – 4:30pm because that’s when they have their sushi specials($ 12.99 for two rolls). That’s almost half the price of their selected sushi rolls. My favorite is the Tango Mango and Mexican sushi roll. If you’re not feeling sushi, their sesame chicken or beef with broccoli are also my favorites(and are in their Sunday special menu). Price is about average for good quality sushi. Parking in this location can be challenging especially on weekends because there are so many other eateries in this area as well the movie theatre. They also have a separate hibachi section for private parties as well. If you have a big party, I recommend calling in advance for reservations. They do get busy at night and in the weekends. This is my favorite go to sushi place. I live in winter springs and it’s worth the drive.

I been going to this Amura for years. There sushi is really good and their yaki soba noodles and broccoli beef entrée is really good too. My go to sushi is the tango mango, Philadelphia roll, and krab Rangoon. They have a variety of different rolls so choose to your liking… Sunday’s from 12 to 430 is the best time to go because they have a buy 2 rolls for 12.99 and pick an entrée for 12.99. There is a menu they give you that has a list of choices for the special so not all the rolls are there but all of them are still very good. Customer service was good but the only knock that I can give them is that they take a while to check on you so if you need something you would have to ask a different waiter. Overall it is a really good place especially if your craving sushi!!!

Seem like the owners ate Japanese from hearing them speak their language. Good quality food. I would return if i lived near there. I like their volcano roll and a few sashimi. Good miso soup to warm up to because it was cold that night.

This place has beauuuuutiful décor and it’s a cute sushi bar and grill. The boyfriend and I were craving sushi and decided to get an order to go. I had never been here prior to but I suppose he had. So we make our order at around 715pm. The place was fairly empty for it being 7pm. So we hung out at the sushi bar sipping on soda waiting for our order of FOURROLLS to show up. And we wait. And we wait some more. And… oop, we’re still waiting. After about an hour the boyfriend goes to complain. They assure us that our food is coming right up and they had to handle a bigger party first — but everyone who was seated around us both on the floor and at the bar were served before us! After another ten minutes, the boyfriend suggests we just walk out(keep in mind no one has checked on us or anything the whole hour and fifteen minutes we were sitting there) until we were stopped by a manager who once again assured us our food was on its way. After about another HALFHOUR they FINALLY get our food to us. Of course we’re pissed at this point because not only did they serve everyone else around us, not only did we wait over an hour and a half for a to go order of four rolls but we weren’t comped for our way too long of a wait. Regardless of the fact that the food was pretty decent; the management and wait staff were not impressive. I refuse to drop that much money on sushi again knowing the service will suck. We’ll stick with Samurai Sushi, thanks.

This place is very busy, but mostly over in the hibachi area. Early bird between 5 and 6:30 gets a deal over there. Not for me. I wanted sushi. Rather than wait for a table, I took a seat at the sushi bar where I got a nice hello from one of the sushi chefs and a waiter brought me a heavy bound menu and a big white sheet with a long list of sushi offerings. Easy enough, I chose three and it was plenty. The California roll was neatly wrapped and had the expected avocado and crab. Nice. The tuna roll was well stuffed with rich salmon and was quite meaty tasting. Very nice. The hit was the Tuna Tower, which was a very unusual shaped sushi. More like Petit-Fours than maki rolls, with stacked fresh tuna and spicy tuna. The spicy was quite spicy, almost too much. If you’re going to have this, make it the last thing you eat in your meal as the spice might hit your taste buds hard. Good service, great fish. Amura is a winner.

When people ask me where my favorite sushi joint is I always tell them Amura. On this last visit, however, the sushi was less than stellar. We know before we sit down what we are going to order, with a few variations. We always get the Bubba Roll and Rolls Roys. Occasionally making the mix is Tokyo(a little spicy), Beauty and the Beast, Rainbow, or Mexican. The restaurant is pretty large and nicely decorated. They have a Hibachi area in the back which we have yet to try. Service on this past visit was good. We were seated and decided to try the happy hour special. My wine came out with cork floating in it and was returned for a clean glass. Some of the rolls were missing that refined assembly and in fact were falling apart before we even touched them. It was just sloppy. The Rolls Roys was missing its usual pop. We frequent this location because it is close to home but I think the Sand Lake location is better. Still, when I want my suhsi fix there is nothing like Amura. I hope this evening was just an off night.
