This is my favorite restaurant, ever!!! I just moved to California and definitely miss this place A LOT! I have been going to Memories of India for over 3 years and my favorite dish is shrimp masala. It is absolutely amazing. I have been to at least 5 other different indian restaurants and this by far is the best. I have also had their Sunday brunch buffet which comes with unlimited champagne. The meals also comes with dessert of either mango rice pudding or ice-cream. Never disappoints! John and Kevin are the best!

Our go to Indian spot! Have been there several times and our food always comes out at a reasonable time and very delicious. Love their chicken tikka and lamb curry!

Went here with family while visiting Sanford. The existing Unilocal reviews was used to make the decision to try this place. To me the place and food are both mediocre. We ordered bhindi masala, lamb bhuna, lamb biryani and butter naan. The quantity of lamb bhuna was scarce, it was hardly ¼ of the serving bowl. The biryani was dry and had rose flavored critters in it. The indoor lighting is dim and the place looks shady.

The first time I went here, several years ago, I was a little put off because I wanted to place a take out order and he said they didn’t have time. I went about a year later and they were much friendlier and willing to take my order. I initially felt they only wanted Indian customers, but they have since changed. Fantastic, authentic Indian food. It’s funny, I can call for a take-out order several months from when I last called and the person taking my order asks if I would like my usual. The staff is very attentive and there is a great variety of wonderful Indian dishes to choose from. The prices are good and the atmosphere is cozy. There are great vegetarian selections, along with dishes that have meat.

Best Indian food in lake Mary. I have eaten here well over 10 times. One of my favs. Service is always excellent. Be careful of the«Indian hot» it’s way too spicy even for this Cajun.

My wife and I have eaten at Indian restaurants all over the world, but our meal, tonight, had no redeeming qualities. The onion kulcha was undercooked; the Chicken Tikka Massala had a flavor unlike any we have ever had anywhere; and the Vegetable Biryani also had a very strange flavor and vegetables were unidentifiable. I had carefully read a lot of reviews of Indian restaurants in the Lake Mary area(we ordered takeout, as we did not want to go out for the evening, so finding a local restaurant for the pick-up was important.) Memories appeared to have decent recent reviews. We had eaten there many years ago and the experience did not take us back, but the more recent reviews sounded promising. In addition, they have a «sister» restaurant on the south side of Orlando that had a Zagat food rating of 24 — certainly more than acceptable. If you live in Lake Mary, travel the extra distance to Kohinoor in Altamonte Springs or Mynt in Winter Park.

Two of us ordered the shrimp tandoori appetizer($ 12), tadka dal($ 11), and bengan bharta($ 13) with tandoori roti($ 2). Everything was tasty, and there was way more than enough food for the two of us, but I did feel the prices were a little on the high side(for instance, the appetizer only had five medium-sized shrimp) and the food was a little oilier than it needed to be. Beyond that, the restaurant itself was quite nice, and the service was friendly and competent. I’d be interested in coming back for lunch, when the prices seem more reasonable, and trying a couple of different items.

Having lived in Orlando for many years, my parents took us to Memories, this is Memories II, the chef worked at the original and branched off on his own. My parents love this place– literally cannot get the same quality and experience from the chef anywhere else, they say. My Mom had her chicken sag and said it was just like she remembered 16 years ago. pretty cool! My Dad is here often with his travels to Orlando so he knows the deal– he’s also well known at the restaurant which is neat too. I had chicken tikka masala as I do at every Indian restaurant– it was tasty but not the flavors I’m used to living here and obsessed with my fav in ffx, Bollywood Bistro. But it was a great experience and really awesome to see my parents so happy with the food and reconnecting with the chef.

We usually go to Shaan when in this area but decided to try this place tonight and are SOGLAD we did! Service is good-not stellar, but they kept my camel boyfriend’s glass full as he downed glass after glass of water and they cleared dishes quickly. I got my usual Butter Chicken and it was yummy. I always recommend this dish. My date got the lamb palak ghosht and the sauce was very spinach-y. I thought it would be creamier but it was for sure a fresh spinach sauce and he enjoyed it. He also is a big fan of naan so we got the cheese naan bread which is fine, but I would like To try the garlic version next time. Luckily we will be back! A great sign of authentic Indian food is patronage by Guests from that country and when we walked in, we knew we were in the right place. Only rating 4 stars due to the welcome experience when we walked in. It didn’t seem like the Server was happy to have us. It was 7:24pm and they close at 9pm today. The décor leaves a bit to be desired.

I love this place. Been coming here since they first open years ago. Every time we eat here, I wonder why we bother eating anywhere else. The food is that good! We usually order Chana Masala and the Chicken Kada Masala. The flavors are complex and soothing. If you like food on the mild underseasoned side, this is not for you. Even if you are used to Indian food, there will be flavors here that you will taste for the first time. For example, the Kada Masala has scallions, cilantro and ginger to go along with the curry spices. Try it! As many have mentioned, they do have a Champagne Brunch on Sundays. This used to be under $ 10 and I recall saying I’d probably go even if it were $ 25. I think the price is fair for what you get and the unlimited champagne and all. The dishes change every week, so you get to try a variety of things off their menu. Can’t wait to go back as it’s killing me to write this review. :)

The best Indian food in central Florida. Warning, spicy means spicy. If you aren’t sure ask, but if you ask for«very spicy» be prepared. The weekday lunch special is an especially good deal. For under $ 7 I got a tadka dal with some nan and rice. Also comes with mango ice cream as a desert which is a small portion, but the exact right thing to put out the fire in your mouth! You can also get a rice pudding, but I prefer the ice cream personally. $ 1.50 more and you can add a somosa to your meal. They have a Sunday brunch buffet which in my opinion is a little over priced at around $ 20. The buffet food doesn’t have as much flavor(probably to keep it milder in heat) and so I do not prefer it. Staff is attentive, and the location convenient. A little but of a casual environment, but unless you need a romantic ambiance, I highly recommend this place.

I usually opt for buffets for Indian food because I like to try a little of everything and, because let’s be honest. I can never remember the names of he things I like and I’m a visual person. Unless it’s a buffet or a picture menu, I’m lost when it comes to Indian food. However, my coworkers were saying how good this place was by our new office, so I heckled it out for lunch today. I’m not going to lie, I was very disappointed that butter chicken was not on the lunch menu. The only way I could get it is if I ordered off of the dinner menu which was twice the price and didn’t come with the same goodies that the lunch menu came with. I decided to be adventurous and I tried something new, which was the number eight special. I have no idea what it was called but I got medium spicy heat level and it was spot on! In addition to two pieces of non-and the crispy bread, again the name escapes me, it also came with two dipping sauces, Basmati rice, a yogurt sauce that is like the Indian version of Tzatziki, and dessert. Splurge on their Somosa for the extra $ 1.50. It was delicious and ginormous! We all got the mango ice cream for dessert and it was really good but the guy also brought out there mango rice pudding for us to try and it was also really good. I’ve never had bread pudding before because it kind of scares me, but I have to admit, it was not bad. It was like a sweet cottage cheese. Shaan Indian Buffet in the same plaza is my go-to place, but this is a very close 2nd! It was very good and I’ll definitely go back!

I typically visit this place during lunch. The day I visited was an introverts dream. I was seated at the back of the restaurant with no one else around. It was quiet and I was able to enjoy my meal peacefully. That also meant the staff didn’t visit much either and I found myself a little annoyed when i wanted the spice tray. Oh well, I’d rather have the quiet atmosphere rather than the extra spice. The food is always good. I ordered the chicken kada masala which is very similar to tikka masala. There is so much food on the plate there is no way you will leave this place hungry, even at lunch. A dinner item can be shared with two people if you don’t want what is on the lunch menu since there is so much food. Lunch comes with either mango ice cream, which I heard is phenomenal, or rice pudding. Since I’m not a fan of mango, I always get the rice pudding. It’s the right amount of sweet for a mid-day dessert, not overwhelming. The staff is personable and friendly. If you have questions about the menu don’t be afraid to ask, they’ll explain it to you especially if you’re new to Indian food. While I’ve never visited England or India, so I can’t say if this is authentic Indian food, it does match up with several of the other Indian restaurants around Central Florida. The only con I have for this place is the location and the decoration. The location is tucked away behind a gas station and the decoration is very drab. You definitely don’t come to this restaurant for the scenery.

I most definitely did not expect an Indian restaurant in Lake Mary that is both authentic and delicious but lo and behold Memories of India! FYI this review is solely for the food and not service; not because the service is bad per se but I have just never experienced it, I always order to go! This is a frequent lunch spot for my coworkers and I to grab(Yes, we eat our curry at work, oops) The lunch specials are affordable and delicious! The lamb korma and shakuti are my top two go-to’s for lunch. My favorite dish here thus far though is hands down the navratan paneer; soooo rich and soooo good, not on the lunch menu unfortunately! Great find and will continue to frequent this hidden gem!

I hate to say it, but my experience here was not so great on a couple of different levels. I’ve spent time in London and so I’m familiar with most of the Anglicized curries over there. This isn’t it. First, the dish that I requested to be spicy wasn’t spicy. The onion bhaji starter was greasy. The garlic naan did not have nearly enough garlic. And the kada curry had very little chicken. Service was slow with many take outs seeming to take attention of the kitchen and the wait staff. Sorry, but I’ve experienced better.

Great little Indian restaurant in a strip mall. This place is hard to get into from the road unless you make a u-turn, but it’s totally worth going out of your way to get there. Sunday brunch is around $ 14 and it includes unlimited sparkling white wine, the Indian brunch buffet, and dessert. The house salad is great, it is a cabbage salad and this super delish house made garlic salad dressing. The buffet also has chicken kabobs that are so tender and perfect. I believe they are cooked with cream cheese and so tender. The food here is just so fresh and flavorful, lots of attention to detail. There is also an assortment of various curries, vegetarian dishes, tandoori chicken and other Indian food staples. You will have complimentary warm, buttered naan bread brought to the table as well. I really love this place for Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is humble and the place is small, but the serving staff are super attentive and make sure your wine glass is topped off frequently. I have noticed this place is getting more popular on Sundays, so try to get there by 12:30 is you want a table without waiting. This place is a weekend gem and I hope it doesn’t get too popular!

I am always happy with my experiences with Memories of India in Lake Mary. I generally get the lunch special, always option B because who can say no to a samosa. The lunch special is always big enough for me to eat off of it twice and comes with rice, your choice of main dish(today I ordered chicken korma), naan, a few sauces, a samosa if you get option B, and a dessert which is comprised of rice and a mango substance though I don’t know what it is called all I know that it is my favorite part. A previous coworker of mine from India once told me that this restaurant had the most authentic food he had ever had outside of India. If that’s not a great recommendation, then I don’t know what is!

Memories of India(#2) and Tamarind are two of my favorite Indian restaurants in Central Florida thus far. Both places don’t shy away from the bold flavors like some of the others do. And this includes the spice level, so order accordingly if you have any particular sensitivities. I’ve only been here for lunch and taken advantage of their Lunch Thali, but I hope to return for dinner one day. Their Lunch Thali portions are plentiful and provides you with a good sampling of a variety of things, including a Samosa if you so desire(the only difference between A and B options). Service is average and it can be crowded for lunch at times, but we’ve only run into trouble on one visit. It was one of the Indian holidays and the place was filled to the brim with all sorts of people, including Indians. I say this is a good indication of authenticity. I’m going to have to come here for lunch one day this week now that I’ve talked about it.

Food was excellent but service was poor. I didn’t get my water refilled once. And I didn’t get the dessert that came with my meal. Normally I would’ve asked but it was during the busy lunch rush and it took 10 minutes for them to even give me my check. Which is understandable during rush, but still, it’d have been nice to get the entirety of what I paid for. I’ll to back but definitely at a much more mellow time of day. I got the Lamb Vindaloo, spicy, and it was phenomenal.

I could eat here everyday and not get sick of it. I probably will eat here everyday and not get sick of it. Holy shit. I find myself at a loss for words right now. Maybe it’s because my belly is still full and blissed out from stuffing my face full of navratan korma. I went for lunch and it was $ 7.50 for a plate full of fucking ambrosia. Everything was perfect. So perfect. I am so happy right now. The food made me HAPPY. Just take my word for it… eat here. JUSTEATHERE. YOUWILLUNDERSTAND. If you don’t eat here you’re missing out on something truly wonderful and your stomach will never forgive you. It doesn’t hurt that they were playing bollywood videos on the television either… that was great. And the service was excellent. Very nice people. This place is magical. MAGICAL.
