First off, when you’re walking in, you can smell all the amazing spices just from outside. I knew I had hit a jackpot. I came for the lunch buffet. I’m quite a fan of Indian food and have had my fair share of it. The lunch buffet was delicious, beautifully set up. My only complaint is that they only had one meat curry: chicken tikki masala. All other curries were vegetable curries. I like vegetable curry, but not that much. They had 4 other vegetable curries, chicken tikki, and of course chicken tandoori which I’m never a fan of. I manly just ate the chicken tikki curry and although it was the only meat curry, it was EXTREMELYWELL seasoned. You can taste all the wonderful spices that were put into it. Rice was good basmati rice. The naan bread can be kinda stale depending on when you get to it in the buffet line. Overall I wish they had more meat curries(other chicken curry, goat curry, etc) but I will return if ever I’m feeling some chicken tikki curry. Beautifully seasoned.

Ordered chicken curry, butter chicken, and garlic Nan to go. Order took over 30mins, I don’t mind waiting but the restaurant was empty at the time. The garlic Nan was mushy and not what Nan should be. Butter chicken and curry was just Ok, definitely wasn’t worth the wait.

Our go to Indian place. The wife and I mainly go for the lunch buffet, which is amazing. The butter chicken is great and palak paneer is delightful. She really enjoys the goat biryani. The waitstaff is courteous and fast, 10⁄10 would recommend.

I have gotten my chicken korma here twice and it has been delicious each time. The garlic naan is also amazing! Highly recommended!

This place has very great Indian food. My first time there and did the lunch buffet. The manager was very friendly and waitress was very friendly. I will definitely be going back.

Very tasty! I caught the end of the buffet and the chicken tikka masala was still awe. In fact it was really delicious. I was also impressed that my server wanted to make absolutely sure I had enough before taking down the buffet. She also brought me a plate on naan which was pretty tasty. I will admit, I did not care all for the chicken tikka. The flavor was off putting but I don’t know why. All I do know is that it grossed me out.

My wife ordered takeout from here and realized that they forgot the rice but they were so nice about it and actually delivered it to us over 8 miles away. A+ for customer service, stuff happens but they were awesome about fixing it. Food was wonderful, tandoori chicken was plentiful, and fresh. Had the lamb vindaloo which had plenty of lamb and loved it. Another place I order from in Orlando has good lamb vindaloo but is a little skimpy on the meat, they aren’t skimpy here. Naan was good. I just wish I lived closer to get delivery from them, they deliver the standard 5 mile radius of most places, otherwise I’m sure I’d be ordering at least once a week.

It is pretty good. We have been to the daily lunch buffet. I’m not going to lie, I have had better Indian food in Utah at the Bombay house. I still have it 4 stars because it is in the top 5 Indian places I’ve been. I do love being able to try everything and I haven’t had anything that I dislike there. Most everything is absolutely delicious. Be sure to get the sauces at the beginning and don’t be afraid to ask for things made fresh if you feel like they have been sitting there awhile. Garlic naan is my favorite and they don’t serve that at this buffet. Their naan is more of a butter naan. Overall I’ve had good experiences here and recommend you give it a shot.

Fantastic, authentic Indian food. I have only been for the lunch buffet, but there is a great variety of wonderful Indian dishes to choose from. The prices are good and the atmosphere is cozy. There are great vegetarian selections, along with dishes that have meat.

While small it was full, but not with a wait on a weekday lunch buffet. The nam is some of the best I have ever had. Great service. The chicken masala was too spicy for my taste and even my spicy loving dad. Other than that it was a great authentic restaurant.

I am visiting in town and grabbed takeout dinner. Overall very umipressed with the flavors of the tikka Masala and the sauce was entirely too thick. Naan bread was OK but not great. I don’t know about other places in the area to compare to but it’s nothing like the indian food I have eaten in Baltimore and NY. Would not reccommend.

I’ve been to my share of Indian restaurants, and this rates right up there with the best of them. It’s a little on the pricey side, but definitely well worth it. Service with a smile, and perfectly spiced dishes. We had the channa masala and chicken tikka masala — both were superb. Can’t wait to go back and try the buffet!

Just as the names states, a passport to the continent of spices! I have never been disappointed eating here. Whether having the gourmet lunch buffet or enjoying dinner with friends, Gateway to India serves the best fresh, gourmet Indian food in Orlando. For those reviews that complain about the so-called limited number of items at the lunch buffet, it is obvious that they prefer quantity over quality. I would rather have 5 exquisite dishes prepared to perfection than 10 stale mediocrities. Those who dine at Gateway understand good, clean, well prepared food. Vegetarian selections are always available at the lunch buffet, and the masala chai tea is the best I’ve ever had. The service and décor are lovely, and I’ve never left without a smile :)

Lovely buffet! Great deal. The food is delicious. Naan is wonderful; best I’ve had! Staff is friendly + helpful. There’s a reason they’ve won awards! I definitely plan on coming back. I wish I lived closer. Buffet ends at 2:30 pm + we arrived at 2 pm without a problem. I’m very full + happy right now.

This is by far our favorite Indian restaurant in the Orlando area. The building is an old Pizza Hut and the inside isn’t the fanciest looking. If you are sitting in a booth and someone is sitting up against you in the next booth, you can feel their every move.(Choose a table instead.) The staff is always nice and able to make recommendations on things to try. Our family has a few favorites: Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Curry for the main dishes, always get some Naan(flat bread, delicious, even the plain is tasty), and the Mango pudding for dessert. OK, Mango pudding may sound odd if you haven’t had it before and are used to Vanilla or Chocolate. Trust us, get it. It is sooo good. You can always go for their lunch buffet and try out many different dishes including almost all that I already mentioned. We often order dinner for takeout as well and it’s always ready within 30 minutes and tastes just as great. For 3 of us we order 2 Chicken Tikka Masala’s, 1 Lamb Curry, and 3 orders of plain Naan. If we don’t stuff our faces, which has been known to happen because it’s all just soooo good it’s hard to stop eating, this order can feed the 3 of us for 2 meals. And yes, it all tastes great when reheated the next day.(Just put the Naan in a toaster oven on toast.) We have been eating here for a few years and it’s always on point!

This place is a continued disappointment for us. The lunch buffet is average, without decent selection of items. The Dal Makhani was terrible and goat biriyani was just ok. It is definitely not worth the $ 11.95 rate. There are much better places in Orlando area that offer better variety and charge less. I am surprised that these guys still stay in business. It’s most likely because of lack of competition within 15 miles radius.

Mr. Kapoor is a great chef with a great resume. After eating his food multiple times I had to talk to the man. His type of food is primarily northern Indian. He worked in the industry since 18. Notably he worked at the Taj Mahal restaurant in Bombay which he states has become a five-star joint. He’s traveled all over the world and cut his teeth gaining experience in the Caribbean, New York, and Canada His passion for the food shows in the quality of the dishes that he serves. It is my understanding that he and his wife work about 80 hours a week each for the restaurant. Such wonderful customer service as well There was an older couple. Shivani was super courteous to them while they were asking question after question, asking for sample after sample. They literally monopolized most of her time for nearly 15 minutes. She never once became impatient. I was about to ask what kind of an event they were going to order for, a wedding, an anniversary? In the end, it turned out that it was just for 2 orders for take-out. Here is a sample, Customer:(after smelling all of the curries), I do not want chicken curry because I do not like the color. I like yellow curry. Shivani: We can make it a different style. It is not on our menu, but we will make it for you. Customer: I do not like that color, I want another color. Shivani: Ok. That’s fine, we will make it for you. Customer: «We do not want the rice because I can make it on my own at home». Shivani: Ok, but it comes with your order. Customer: Well then, I will take the rice because it takes time for me to cook the rice. It was 15 minutes of this. Mz. Shivani Kapoor, didn’t flinch and was super pleasant. That is why you guys are so awesome. :) That’s why you keep winning awards :) Thanks for providing some of the best Indian food in the area. :) I drive from Ormond.
