Great service, drinks, and food! We always love coming here. It’s nice to have a great place close to home! And you can experience Canturberry Village!

If you like Christmas decorations, good food, and good service then visit here for the holidays. At first we were worried about getting good service due to the wait however we were sat sooner than we thought. In addition the manager Nick came over personally and made sure we were satisfied and enjoying ourselves. Overall we had a very great time and will definitely be coming back for more!

Horrible service good food. Been here twice before about 5 months ago and had a better experience. This time we were one of only three tables in the place and the young waitresses were more concerned about talking and texting than doing their job. HELLO? Waitresses don’t you realize that your tip is based upon service? Didn’t see any management going on just 3 kids who could care less about their jobs. It’s too bad really because it could be a great place if someone whipped the staff into shape.

I had some issues with them but after talking to the owner everything was taken care of completely. Good service.

Went back to get just the C-Pub Nachos that I liked instead of my entrée last time. However, this time, the cheese on top was burnt to a crisp and made the appetizer very hard to consume. My mom got the Chicken Tenders which was okay. Tasted a little bit like A&W’s chicken. The fries were great. My dad got their famous burger and enjoyed it.

Took my grandchildren there for lunch. My two grandsons split a large one item pizza — bacon — they raved that it was the best pizza they ever had! They ate over half of it. Their uncle devoured the leftovers once they got home. My granddaughters had the Ham and Cheese Delight and the Classic Nachos, they are usually picky eaters and they just loved the food !! I had the Irish Burrito — it was perfect, it was a large tortilla and it was packed with corned beef — couldn’t have been any better. We went yesterday(Saturday) the place was packed. Service was great and so friendly. The place was very clean(bathrooms — which show me that someone is making sure the place is clean –all over) The place is so warm and inviting. Would definitely return!

after walking around in Canterbury village we stumbled upon this place and am so glad we did, after we sat ourselves by the bar, the baretneder handed us the menu, they have a very good selection of beers on tap and also a wide selection of bottle and cans beer. we got the dragon milk it was very good and strong, the place was very clean and organized the staff was friendly to everyone, it was a little small but they have a heated tent outside they use for special events, after glancing at the menu we got a three topping pizza, OMGITWASONEOFTHEBESTPIZZA I HADINMICHIGAN, even my friend agreed on that, I was looking at the other food items coming out of the kitchen they all looked amazing especially the desert, we ordered another beer got us really buzzing, thanked the bartender for the service then we stumbled out of there. will definitely go back there soon

On the plus side they actually carry Tullamore Dew and the pour is generous. The menu however is limited and the fish and chips comes with two small pieces of fish and fries that are hot and soggy so I’ll assume they were nuked. Bottom line, great place to stop after work for a cocktail or two but save your dinner for anywhere else.

We have been here 4 or 5 times already and have not been overly impressed. Tried again because of the new smokehouse menu. All they had added was brisket and pulled pork. My wife had the brisket for 9.99. All she got was 3 slices of dry brisket and fries. Really?. I got the all you can eat fish and chips. Started with 2 pieces and every time i wanted more i had to flag down the waitress and she would put in the order and then come back with one piece. Even though the fish was good I gave up after 2 pieces. The service was good and it is a nice little place, but the food just does not cut it. It’s a shame because it’s right around the corner, but we won’t be back.

First off, they were out of both Guinness and Octoberfest. Second, we asked about the chicken and a brisket. Our server, Sam, said that she had never had it but that she had heard good things. We asked her to bring our beers and let us have some time to decide. She came back with our beers and we were not yet ready. We were indecisive and needed time. She probably came back 3 more times in the next ten minutes impatiently asking if we were ready. Eventually we decided just to order because we felt so pressured. She said that the stew was good even though previously she had said that she had never tried it. We decided against it because she described it as something that was not at all a traditional stew. So instead we decided to split the Reuben… and they were out of corned beef. Scratch that. So, instead of splitting something, my boyfriend ordered the kilt and I ordered the c pub burger, medium. My burger was cooked well done and I had asked for no onions and tomatoes and it arrived with grilled onions on top. I had to scrape those off myself. The burger was bad. No flavor, and the bun became soggy immediately. My boyfriend’s fish sandwich was bland, messy and soggy. It was not worth the price at all. We asked for the check because we were in a hurry and she cashed us out promptly. We left the check on the side of the table and without saying a word she swiped it up on her way by. As two servers in the industry, we were not impressed at all by her demeanor and service. Overall, the food was not worth what we paid for it and the service was more than forgettable.

Came here after the MADD walk this weekend… glad we did! We had a big party, and they made us feel right at home. McKayla(sp? sorry) was a terrific waitress… up and down the stairs all the time for us! I had the fish, which had some of the best/crispiest batter I’ve ever tasted($ 11.95)…I substituted veggies for the fries. My man/child son had the Maurice Salad, and declared it one of the best he’s had. Some in our group had some screaming kids(sorry McKayla) but their meals looked great too. We’ll definitely be back for the Beer/Pizza special everyone raves about. C

My husband and I come often for the Tuesday pizza and beer pitcher special. SO cheap. A large pizza with a pitcher of beer plus one mixed drink for me and the bill is always $ 18.01. The pizza can be hit-or-miss but the past few times have been solid. The atmosphere is cute and we’ve always had good service. Great people watching, too.

Made our annual trip the the C-Pub. A Friday evening with the Tigers on and only about 10 patrons should have been our clue. Wife ordered the burger with pretzel bun which she said was great. I got something that looked like a pizza put in front of me. It had to be the worst tasting pizza I’ve ever had. I choked down a few pieces as I was starving. The rest I donated to their dumpster. Last year we tried their pizza & beer special and that was pretty nasty too. Its a shame that in the 20 years we have lived nearby this restaurant has been lacking in good ownership. When you have ate Buddys or Pizza Dolce its hard for the others to measure up. Guess we’ll stick with the burgers if we go back.

Our visit to Canterbury ahead of the anticipated Christmas crush ended with grumbling bellies. After giving the castle menu a once over, we rushed down the empty cobblestoned pathways to the heated confines of the Clansman Pub. This is far more Irish or British than Rosie’s back in Ferndale, make no bones about it, even for being a bit kitschy. Waitresses in plaid skirts were lucky not to be going outside in the blustery wind that made the weather a bit grim. The Clansman is a pretty place, stone walls and a pitched roof fitting into a niche that resembles a traditional manger a bit. The bar is long and dimmer than the warm interior, and all we needed was a crackling fireplace to really feel at home. Two televisions tuned to football games were not too loud or intrusive, though I could’ve done without the additional screens. Padded pew-style benches move around tables, so you can pull them as close as you want. The main dining area probably accommodates ten tables at most, so it’s cozy. Fitting the British pub theme, the menu offers a good number of sandwiches and burgers named the Sean Connery, the William Wallace, and the French Dip-za(still lost on the pun on that one). Salads feature Traverse cherries and apple slices, and the entrees include hearty shepherd’s pie, a pasta primavera, and beef tips in au jus. On the grey day we visited, both of us gravitated to the burgers on the waitress’ recommendation. They got served up with a big pickle and kettle chips or French fries, your choice. Other sides can be ordered a la carte for $ 2 to $ 5, depending. My burger was juicy and large, the premade patty done medium with a touch of pink just like I asked. I couldn’t finish the thing due to its size, and the bun it was served with was definitely very good. The chips were also a nice touch though I was stealing French fries from my beau for their warmth. He went with the bacon and mushroom burger, which also hit the spot. It’s hard to go wrong with a burger, and the Clansman doesn’t disappoint there. The ambiance on a quiet afternoon is really pleasant; I could imagine writing a chapter of a novel in here, having a charming afternoon, or relaxing. Probably long waits and crazy busy kitchens await if you show up after Thanksgiving, but its charm the rest of the year is a welcome change from the generic restaurant styles found elsewhere.

The pretzel buns are good, but the burger I had was horrible. It tasted like a typical frozen patty bought at the local supermarket. Flavorless and dry… The best value here is the amazing $ 11 pizza/pitcher deal on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The pizza is sooooo good. A lot of old people and families go here. Service is sketchy, especially if you get the guy bartender. He’s a diva with poor people skills.

Another of my favorite places to eat. Kind of a neighborhood hangout where you can always catch up with friends. Not a very extensive menu but what they make is very good. Best on the menu, IMO, burger on a pretzel bun and their fish. I guess it doesn’t hurt that they also carry a few of my favorite beers… and a steady supply of peanuts.
