Here at Kool Pak we LOVE Green Spice! We love the food and the exceptional service. I love the California & Salmon Bowl which is sorta of a Chirashi(Japanese Dish). Everyone else raves about the meat loaf sandwich, South West Bowls and ohhhh the Nacho Salad… MMMMMMM. You really can’t miss at this little hideaway. She also has cute cards, candy and variety of novelty gifts. Lot’s of non-alcoholic drinks too.

This place is convenient and has a lot of good choices on the menu. I’m quite fond of the breakfast offerings(egg and meat as a sandwich, or on a croissant, or on a bagel…), and the rotating lunch specials are nice as well. Try the Snappy Cow, a beef sandwich with tomato, lettuce, apple, walnuts and horseradish.

Greenspice is a deli/gift shop that opened in the summer of 2010, tucked in the back of the 5300 Meadows building in the Kruse Oaks corporate park. Not only is the food great, it has become my ‘go-to’ place for last minute cards and presents. This deli is big on options! Their breakfasts can be prepared in the style of a quesadilla, burrito, or bowl; mcmuffin, panini, or croissant sandwich. The 14 different salads on the menu can also be ordered as a wrap. One of my favorites is the Moraga(feta, avocado, kalamata olives, bell peppers, cucumbers, carrots, tomato, red cabbage, romaine, sweet balsamic dressing). Sandwiches include some pretty decent«classics» such as tuna salad and ham & cheese, plus ten different specialty sandwiches. One of the best I’ve tried is their Harvest Chicken(chicken salad with cream cheese, walnuts, apple, lettuce and tomato). They have quite a few specials that change daily, including some hot items. In addition to silly/funny/hip novelty gifts and some awesomely quirky greeting cards, the shop carries a variety of energy drinks, Naked juices and flavored waters; upscale local and imported sweets such as Harry & David’s Moose Munch bars, Dagoba chocolate, Haribo gummi candy and snacks ranging from fruit to Greek yogurt to diet shakes to Cheez-Its. They also have an assortment of necessity items such as shoe polish, aspirin, and even NoDoz for the late night partiers dragging themselves into the office at 8AM. Yes, sometimes that is a necessity! It took me a couple of visits to determine why I always had leftover money when I collected exact change from my colleagues and went to pick up our lunch order. Turns out they offer a discount from the menu prices if you pay cash – a nice surprise. Greenspice provides catering to the area businesses and offers free delivery in the Kruse Way area. They also have patio seating. The only«needs improvement» I’ve experienced here is that the panini are made with regular bread and not always heated through. The bread is fresh though, and the ingredients are good quality. Service is extremely efficient, which is important if you have limited break time during the workday and want to grab a quick bite to go. Overall, Greenspice is a terrific place… excellent food with versatile options in a convenient location to local businesses. Highly recommended!
