Super fast service, friendly staff, cheap and delicious food. Although the restaurant is not the nicest the food and price make up for it. The chicken teriyaki is great with large portions of chicken, rice and salad

Great little bento joint in Lake O. It’s super affordable and the staff is friendly. I’ve been coming here for about six years now and feel that they’re very consistent. If you’re in the mood for some korean pork or teriyaki steak, this place is great. *Tip* Check the lunch specials, there’s four options(a, b, c, d) which include a meat options, rice, salad, pot stickers, and a soda for under $ 8.

We always get the teriyaki meals. They’re good enough. Not the best teriyaki in the world, but we keep going back. When we’re hungry and want rice, this is where we go.

We have been HUGE fans of star Teriyaki for years. Our son would have it five times a week if possible! The owner and her staff are incredibly hard workers and consistently make the BEST Chicken Bento in town! It is all about the food at Star. There is a reason they have been in business for so long, they provide good food at very reasonable prices! No reason anyone should give them less then 5 stars!

I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bento lunch special. It was lackluster at best and I feel I am being generous with that statement. The meat was gristly and tasted off. Perhaps it was the sauce – something about the meat tasted stale. The potstickers were greasy and were sitting in some variety of sweet/sour sauce which only served to make them more soggy than they already were. There was a disproportionate amount of rice included which meant I wasted almost all of it. The salad, though primarily iceberg lettuce and julienned carrot, was crisp and fresh(silver lining!). The service was good and bad. They greeted me promptly and then made me stand at the counter waiting to order while they took a phone order. However, my food was served quickly and the waitress who brought it out was friendly enough. The verdict? I probably wouldn’t return and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to a friend.

I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. The beef seemed like chopped up minute steak, the pot stickers were so-so… But were filled with the egg roll filling. The salmon smelled and tasted like a dairy farm. Like bleach. Couldn’t swallow a bite of the salmon. Now I don’t feel so well. Buyer beware.

I’m so disappointed at their service these days. Last week I stopped for lunch and it was really busy the lady told me 15 – 20 mins and I just didn’t have the time to wait. So I stop in for dinner to go. There is nobody in the restaurant. I go to the counter and order a chicken salad and she tells me 15−20mins. If she plans on plucking and skinning the chicken I might understand but she’s not so I’ll never be back. To top it off she seams rude every time I go in. Maybe it’s just my personality but I’m over it.

Ordered the beef and chicken teriyaki. I don’t know what kind of flavor they were going for but even the rice made me gag. The food smelled. .The salad dressing was disturbing and the beef looked like it had been through a spaghetti strainer. I’m not sure if it was just an off night but there are two competitors on this street and either one is a better choice

The worst chicken teriyaki I have ever had, the food smelled and tasted horrible, if I was eating in, I would’ve asked for my money back, but since I brought it home, it went in the trash. I will drive the extra distance to go to Mashitas to get awesome chicken teriyaki and I live a mile from star so I go out of the way and drive to to Tualatin to get awesome teriyaki.

I’m only giving STAR Teriyaki a 4⁄5 because I just went there for the first time so I’ve only had one thing: the chicken teriyaki lunch special(w/two piece gyoza and side salad. Oh my god. It’s good. Chicken: perfectly cooked, not rubbery, slight char on the edges but not crispy or underdone. Perfect chew. Sauce: the teriyaki is more of a glaze — I always get extra just in case. Very sugary, but if you like a thicker sauce this is what you want — I mixed mine with the hot sauce(which is a little thinner) they have available on the tables. Spicy, sweet, tangy, and perfect for me. Gyoza: good stuff. Light, airy, not oily or heavy on the palette. Filling is scrumptious, little bit of duck sauce adds a nice unexpected zing. Side salad: could use some work here. It’s iceberg, but eh, what do you expect. Ranch was a tad watery so I imagine the lettuce wasn’t washed/dried effectively(scary thought). Overall though, it was this or a splurge on McDonalds today… you know that hankering for a shitty burger and shitty fries with a shitty cola? I upgraded. My stomach thanks me, as do my tastebuds. And I won’t die on the toilet later. STAR teriyaki is delicious! If just for the chicken teriyaki lunch special — will DEFINITELY go back to try their other stuff. Keep it up!

I am right at 4.5 with this one, but I gave them an edge considering some of their competition. My friend said in a quick tip«This place is a gem» and he is certainly right. Friendly service, hot food and quality ingredients. I got real heavy into my Teriyaki addiction when I was in the Hollywood District and I would frequent Du’s. You could find me at Du’s 1 – 2 times a week. I loved their fresh grilled chicken, smothered in delicious sauce and that poppy seed dressing on the salad«Uno Mas to go» I would hear often. I have been chasing the«teriyaki dragon» ever since. I am in the Wilsonville, Tualatin, SWPDX, Tigard, L.O. area very often these days. I hadn’t found anything that compared to Du’s. I tried Mashita’s in Tualatin which was pretty good. Consistent, fast and very well priced. Mashita’s will be around 4.1 stars in my book. I often wondered how they efficiently delivered the right food items to me every time without displaying an order number. I think the cashier writes a description of each patron. Mine is surely; charming, handsome white male. I was looking for another place«near me» and I came across STAR. It’s a very unassuming place. Easily missed due to location and dodging Mercedes’ in L.O. traffic. I found the parking lot mostly empty. Walked in, it is a little outdated, but clean. It’s like going to your grandmothers house. Full visible menu on your left, specials are on the whiteboard. For $ 7.25 I can get a hearty plate of Chicken Teriyaki, salad with dressing, 2 Gyoza’s and a drink. The portion is plentiful. I can eat a considerable amount when I am hungry and I can’t quite achieve a clean plate here. I also found that they serve Ramen, another item I ordered often in Hollywood. I got the spicy order which may have been a bit too spicy to thoroughly enjoy but I will give it another shot by ordering regular and spicing it up myself.

How come there aren’t more reviews for this place? Star looks pretty unassuming from the street. Don’t let that keep you away though, the food is pretty good, as long as you stick with teriyaki. Go with chicken or beef. Their lunch specials are served with a salad and the portions are plenty large. If you order sushi rolls,(I don’t know why you would), expect to be disappointed. One downside is that Star can be very popular with middle and high school students, and you might come in to find the restaurant randomly packed with rowdy kids. If you have a craving for teriyaki, Star satisfies. Or try Best Teriyaki — I prefer the lunch boxes there.

This place is fabulous… SUPER friendly service and awesome reasonably priced food. You can get pretty much any combination of food you’d like, they have a rotating lunch special as well as a kid’s lunch special, and it is all delicious. I come here with a couple of kids I homeschool, they know the kids by name and exactly what they like. Last time I went in was just with the older brother, and she was sure to remind us to get some extra potstickers for the sister«because she’d be sad» if we didn’t [unbelievably true]. I love that she chats and jokes with the kids, and so do they… great place to come for a family or with children [friendly AND lots of cheap smaller options for kids on the menu]. I almost don’t want to review this place… because it is such a hidden gem! It looks sketchy and not enticing from the outside, but don’t be fooled… or DO be fooled and leave all the amazingness to us! Will definitely come back… very soon.
