I am appalled I have to waste a single star on this establishment. Keep in ming there were only two additional tables at CJ’s during our visit. I would start off complaining about the server, however she never gave us her NAME. She did, however, use the word F**K when taking our order– after I had to point out the French onion soup only comes in a crock size she stated «I always F**K that up» then had I had to reiterate what else I had ordered. After hearing the chef call, «soup’s up!» It took the server five more minutes to actually bring it to our table. Our entrees took an additional 25 minutes to be served (a breakfast entrée and a wrap). A table seated outside asked for creamer for coffee (the only two silver canteens the restaurant owns were at our table) so they served creamer to the other table in PLASTIC CONDIMENT CONTAINERS. The service was horrible, wait staff was rude and untrained, and the overall experience was less than acceptable. I wanted a Bloody Mary to make my time there more bearable, however I refused to handover more money to such a place. DO NOT EAT HERE.

i really regret wasting my money at this. The food was not great, and the margaritas are really watered down.

CJ’s Island Grill on Lake Avenue violated more than two dozen health code violations, prompting the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to temporarily suspend its license for several days.
This isn’t CJ’s first time running afoul of code violations, however. Earlier this year, inspectors found 33 violations. Some of those were failing to have adequate sneeze guards at the self-​service buffet area, inadequate plumbing and cutting boards that were stained or soiled.

The worst breakfast ever, the coffee was old, the pancakes like rocks. The placed smelled like old beer. I felt sorry for the server/​bartender. The only one work that day. Do not eat here.

The waiter was so stoned, he could not get our orders right or bring us place settings, no matter how many times we told him. I got the tacos. One was burnt chopmeat. I did not pay for my meal. Gross. Sat across from a girl who just shot-​up the H. She was nodding in and out. She didn’t eat her food either.

I went there for a few drinks and was happy to meet the new bartender Sharon-​she was so nice and makes a great bloody mary! I have been to CJS in the past and the staff definitely was a huge downfall of the place but it seems to be changing a bit. IT looks cleaner and seems to be getting better. Id definitely give it another shot!

Wish I would have looked on Unilocal before the host talked me into eating here! Worst fish tacos ever! The best thing about this place is the radio station they had on! Very disappointed! I hope my food experience in Florida improves! Well, seeing how I started here, no place to go but up.

Not a happy customer. Neither will you be. Don’t waste your money. Food took one hour, came out looking like crap, and the «manager» was full of crap.
The lettuce, tomato, and onion on my chicken sandwich looked like it was a week old. My wife’s fish took up half the bun. The menu said chicken and cheese sandwich. It came out without cheese and when I mentioned it, they just threw a piece of cold cheese on it.
The guy that called himself a manager said he would take sonethjng off the check. It came out full price. I told the waitress to check with the manager and she brought it back still at full price.
Complete rip off and not cheap. $ 40 for two sandwiches and two sodas.
Go somewhere else!

I wish I could take back the hour and a half this place took from us! Four of us, and all orders were messed up. Plus the food was terrible and overpriced for the quality. Servers were very friendly, but it took 15 minutes to get greeted, and another 45 minutes to get the food. 20 minutes for the check… Which was wrong. Drinks were never refilled. They should have staffed more in my opinion. Perhaps it was a bad day that I happened to dine there. I hope so.
James is awesome. He was great conversation and I’ve never seen a more professional host. He adds a star to this place.

We picked this place prior to looking at the Unilocal reviews. The food was OK. Not terribly but nothing special. We will probably not come back as there are many other places to try in the area.

Had a wonderful night out with friends. Sat outside and had a couple drinks. Great service. Nice people. Will most defiantly be back. They also had karaōke inside. Inside is very nice. They have a bar area and a Resturant sit down area!

We were walking down the street and guy outside told us happy hour 2 for 1 drinks. Ok we went in. There were 2 tables with younger people outside (20’s) you can smoke out there and they kept all the windows open for the outside smokers to be able to watch the game. Not a single soul at the dining room area. Let day at bar and want sure whether or not to order. We ordered a philly cheese steak it was only steak and cheese. 50 cents extra for each onions and mushrooms. Drinks were good. Food was ok nothing exciting and not bad. Won’t be coming back. Same younger kids walking in talking loud on phone cursing. Bartender said the onions were going to be 50 dollars more, then she said she was sorry she meant 50 cents she had done some shots. Had an old musty smell to the place. Oh buy their blue cheese dressing is home made and was super yummy. Just got bill. There was no tip added on like another viewer posted. Maybe group size or dining room area is different.

Gross! Extremely over prices for the quality of food!
I ordered chicken tacos and they used spoiled Cole slaw instead of lettuce. Avoid this place for food. Happy hour specials are average.

Tuesday night 6:30 pm. Not one patron on the restaurant or the bar side. Seedy characters out front. We sat at the bar for a few drinks. (I’m weary of a restaurant that has not one patron eating dinner… so I didn’t order food). 4 people came in and started drinking at bar and loudly began with the EXTREMELY DIRTY LANGUAGE… so extreme I can’t even tell you!!! BARTENDER IGNORED THEM NOT EVEN TELLING THEM TO COOL IT OR THEY WOULD BE EJECTED. They left and some young kids /​boys came in with foul language on their tee shirts in large letters. I understand we were sitting on the bar side but it is open to the restaurant side. What if I had my son in there for dinner. He CAN read!
NEVER EVER EVER EVER AGAIN. Even for the happy hour drinks. This was no happy hour. Better off heading down to Dave’s for the atmosphere. Sorry C.J.‘s.
Fast forward. 6÷30÷15 Palm Beach Post. CJ’s closed until they fix 22+ health violations including rodents etc.

I went to this place a total of three times. The first time, I was greeted and served quickly and professionally. The 2^nd and 3^rd times I was there, I was ignored for 20 minutes at the bar before I was acknowledged at all. Not only that, but after one drink on my 2^nd trip to the establishment, 18% tip was charged to me without my knowledge as i already left a good tip for the female bartender. The final time I visited, it wasn’t any better. I was waiting for 20 minutes at the bar before i was acknowledged. Not only that but to hear the white patrons on the other end of the bar using the N-​word with each other, as the bar was at capacity, made me sick to my stomach. This place is not for me so I got up and left before getting anything to drink or eat. Enough is enough. I was recommended to hang out with friends that go there regularly. However, I informed them that I won’t be stepping foot in the restaurant again. To each his own…
This is simply my honest experience at the restaurant.

Nothing special about the food, all of the employees looked confused about what they were supposed to be doing and cleanliness standards were poor. I will not be back sorry!

Marcus behind the bar and Robin the server made this a terrific eve out, especially given the trivia game being played [Tuesdays]. Very good peel and eat shrimp and hefty drinks to go with the food.
Very welcoming atmosphere with reasonable pricing

Service: awful. Server never asked us how our meals were. Which were also awful. He barely said two words to us and dropped our check without a thank you or any dialogue whatsoever.
Food: awful. My «fruit plate» consisted of rotten /​bruised strawberries and grapes, watermelon RINDS, and a pear with half the stem sticking out. It was $ 8 for a hot mess of a platter. The table next to us waited an hour for their food … It wasn’t busy.
The host was nice and gave our dog some water. That was the single redeeming quality. Doooo not eat here.

This restaurant is in the heart of Lake Worth’s dining district. I get the impression it is more of a bar than restaurant. Service is good, though less than professional.
I had serious issues with the roast half jerk chicken. Pink inside is not for me. Without complaint I was presented with another half roasted hen. Their jerk sauce was on the weak side. There were temperature issues with other items on the plate as well, ie. mashed sweet potato. My dining partner had crab cakes that were good. The key lime pie, is made on premises. Basically good, not overly sweet, and very light key lime flavor.
You might want to try it for yourself.

The old Rum Shack turn around. We stopped in for a drink on the way home. A friend of mine works here and it’s the same old place. The kitchen is open until 2 a.m. for anybody that wants to eat as well. The double 0 7 was refreshing. Stop in there if you want to get your drink on while you’re in downtown Lake Worth.
