I took my daughter (3 years old) here for a little «girls night out» on Sunday evening. The store is clean and the ice cream is SO good. The ice cream is very high quality and it one of my top favorite brands in the country.
I had chocolate with peanut butter and my daughter had strawberry. Both were delicious! The store manager (or owner?) came by and offered to get my daughter a balloon. She was so happy, especially since he went out of his way to make a new balloon in her favorite color.
The store wasn’t terribly busy (just two other groups of customers when I was there) but they seem to go a lot of drive through business. Lots of people buying milk, chocolate milk, and ice cream. I noticed they sell cage free eggs too!

Ohhh how I miss Oberweis. I moved to Seattle from Chicago 2 years ago, and there is NOTHING like Oberweis out here which is a huge bummer! I miss coming here in the summer and getting a waffle cone bowl or a malted milkshake! Oberweis, please build a location on the west coast! :)

If you ever want to know what it was like to have a hot fudge sundae in the 1950’s then try out Oberweis. The stores are all white & brightly lit & are the signature look of all of the Oberweis’s. They closed the Oberweis near Barrington a few years ago so this is the closest one & it sure didn’t disappoint.
I came in here & I ordered a hot fudge sundae & it was as good as it has ever been. With out a doubt this is one of the best hot fudge sundaes I have ever had. The hot fudge was nice & hot & they put it in an old fashioned glass cup & give you a real spoon not some plastic fast food junk.
The staff here was nice & friendly & they had my order ready pretty quickly. Overall the place was clean, the service was good & the desserts were awesome. I would definitely come here again.

The best ice cream around!!! I recently relocated from the southern US where Blue Bell ice cream is king! After having your ice cream I can say your product is a close second! I’m so excited to have your parlor so close to my house. I will definitely be back! Might even move in

Yummy! Only in the Chicago area do you go out for ice cream in the middle of winter. The ice cream is better than any other ice cream store I have been to i.e. Baskin Robbins, Coldstone, Culvers. I enjoyed a marshmallow hot chocolate and a brownie sundae. Perfect end to an evening. Can’t wait to go again!!!

Oberweiss has the highest quality ice cream, it is fantastic. Everything I’ve had has been good, it’s very clean and they’re quick. Everyone says they are high, but compared to who? It’s a big store, I’m sure they have a lot of overhead. That being said it is high, but no more than a Ben and Jerry’s or something comparable, and is much better than DQ or Baskin Robbins. Love my milkshake.

Had the turtle candy (delicious but very sweet), vanilla cone with sprinkles (simple but yummy) and a waffle cone bowl dipped in chocolate with cookie dough ice cream and whipped cream (outstanding).

I have been to other Oberweis locations but this one is closest to our home.
This is not your standard ice cream, they serve really creamy ice cream with a higher price. I usually get their sundaes with vanilla ice cream & either chocolate or caramel on top. I ask them to not give me the cherry bec I don’t want the extra calories.
But my ultimate favorite at Oberweis is their Turtle Ice Cream Sundae. As I eat that, I’m always oooohing and aaaaaahing. It’s that yummy.
Lately, I have discovered Cold Stone & bec they offer something different, I have to alternate between these two places so I can enjoy both of what they offer.

Hands Down, The Best Ice Cream
Okay, I just received my CONE HEAD BADGE after coming here today. What better place to receive my badge of honor for eating ice cream at Oberweis?
I am going to say that Oberweis makes the best ice cream I have ever had. Their portions are very generous and will fill you up. I love mint chocolate in a waffle cone and when I order a double scoop, they fill it up well above the brim. I recently had it in a cup and I have to say that it felt like they give you more in their cups that the other places do. I was thinking of weighing it but that would be weird (right?) Take my word, the portions are bigger.
I will admit that the cost of this ice cream is pretty high, but after a tough day at work or on a hot day it is a nice treat to stop in and get your favorite flavor ice cream.
Besides ice cream, they also sell milk, chocolate milk and lemonade.
Go ahead and treat yourself to some awesome ice cream.

MMMM MMMMM good!!! There is really nothing else to say. Obviously it’s not something you can have everyday, or your pants won’t fit you anymore, but a treat here and there is acceptable! Their chocolate milk shakes are unbelievable and make me very happy!!!
