What I did not realize when visiting the park is how it connects to several great spots: Texas cattle company restaurant Fire department Lake Mirror Center(City of Lake land Parks and Recreation auditorium) Apparently the space can be rented for private occasions Barnett family park Hollis gardens Kryger park /main st overlook park Garden bistro Amtrak station Lakeland brewing company Peggy Brown Center Visiting Lake Mirror park gives opportunity for much enjoyment. Love the lily pads, and the artful utility boxes!

As a Lakeland native I’ve watched this lake grow and transform over the years. Beautiful, beautiful place, with such a rich history, and one of my most favorite places. Local legends abound about this spot, just adding it’s beauty.

This is such a nice hidden gem in Lakeland if you are not familiar with the area. Parking is located around the lake. There is a parking lot available near the Texas Cattle Company restaurant. You can experience a very relaxing walk around the lake with friends, family, or just alone. There is a nice garden walk off the main walk there offers an elegant garden atmosphere with vegetables, roses, and a hidden pond in the back. Perfect offering for pictures. The lake does have its offerings of ducks, birds, geese, and possible other wildlife here. I think the walk may take about 15 – 20 minutes or longer depending on how fast you walk and how often you stop. I find this place to be very romantic as well due to the structures, layout, the small lake, and the view. I would highly recommend checking it out.

We used the area for our engagement photos and our wedding. The prices are great and the Loggia easily allowed seating for our 80 plus guests. The Peggy Brown building was perfect for our reception. We couldn’t believe how nice everything was. The city workers where very friendly and accommodating.

This place sums up all the quaintness of Downtown Lakeland through one circular walkway. Although there are no swans in this Lake, you admire the lake from the walkway bordering the Lake and pass by several sights along the way(little signs along the way instruct you further) The Lake itself is simple and beautiful to look at. It’s not surprising to run into many people jogging, strolling, or taking photos on the spacious path. Along the way you’ll run into the Hollis Gardens(Attack of the bridal photo ops), Barnett Family Park(kids will act like monkeys all over the playground), and a handful of artistic sculptures. Luckily there are several public areas to have a picnic or use the bathroom yet the entire walk revealed nothing but clean ground. I just wish I had my boyfriend to hold my hand as I circled the water.

After sundown, try not to get stabbed. Hobos frequent this area, especially around the holidays, and don’t get tricked by their«I have a flat tire» or «I’m trying to feed my church» rouses. The parks are nice if you want to get ringworm, and security is a joke after dark. Teenagers(and some adults) hop the fences at night and play on the playground, just make sure you’re not breaking and entering into a homeless man’s bedroom, because those fences are easier to get into than they are out.

Lake Mirror is a beautiful backdrop for a wedding. I’ve done quite a few at this location and it never disappoints to create beautiful photos.

We love coming to this area of Lakeland. Each month the NAWCC Chapter 19 meets here on the lake, what a beautiful setting for meetings of any kind. The lake is a great spot for a walk, a run, pets, pretty much anything you can think of for a relaxing day. We saw a wedding this afternoon on the promenade. Very nice. The lake sits across the street from our hotel, so it was easy access each time we headed down. With each visit we explore a little more.

Lake Mirror is located in downtown Lakeland. There is a wide pathway going around the lake and only part of the lake is on the street side. Surrounding Lake Mirror are many options for activities. There is the cities recreational complex, Barnett family park, an amphitheater, Peggy Brown building, the Magnolia Building, Hollis Garden and various businesses. This lake is used for community fireworks, outdoor concerts and photo op’s. My now husband and I were looking at the Peggy Brown building and the Magnolia building for our wedding reception. There was a wedding being held in the Magnolia and we noticed a couple of guys setting up fireworks. We asked what time the show would start and made sure we came back. Other than the wedding guests on the other side of the lake we had a private show. It is picturesque, relaxing and a delightful gem.
