My first visit and I was very impressed. My bacon cheese burger came out absolutely perfect for my taste. The restroom was clean, the over all restaurant was just charming. I will return!

The food was great. I would go back again and again for that. The service was bad. If was McDonald’s service. then you are asked if you want to tip. before you get the food or service. IF they want a tip. seat me, give me a menu, take my order(right). Bring me my drink, food etc. The tip I gave today should go to the cook(s) not the bartender. They need wait staff. when i go back. it will be take out. I’ll sit in the park and enjoy.

Ended up here by default. It was early Sunday afternoon and our first and second choices of places to go were closed. I wasn’t even really in the mood for a burger, and almost ordered something else, but after one bite there were zero regrets. The burgers my husband and I ordered were delicious! Juicy and flavorful but I thought the roll was the best part. It was light, fresh and slightly buttery, it reminded me of the buns they serve at Fudruckers. The fries were a hit as well, my kids shared a side order and quickly gobbled them up. For the portions and quality the prices are reasonable. A true gem of a place to visit in Downtown Lakeland. We will definitely be back.

If you’re looking for a good burger this is the place. If your looking for ambiance, forget it. The bar tender greeted us as we entered, pointed to where the menus were and instructed us to come to the bar to place our order.

The burgers are good. The fries are not, almost like steak and shake fries and you only get a handful in the burger basket. When I’m paying $ 10 for a plain burger, I expect steak fries and a full basket of them. Especially when it’s self service, order at counter and get your own drinks and refills.

1950’s and 1960’s gas station décor. They have 14 awesome burgers BUT their ordering system is not so hot!!! you walk in and find your own table then you walk up to bar and order your food off menu and tell the bartender and she rings it up and you pay for it immediately, then you get a number to put on table and they bring you your food. Imagine ten people in front of you ordering separately on one register. This is a screwed up system. what if you want more to drink. you keep getting in line and paying again and again. you get your own soda and plasticware. I personally don’t like that system. Just go there for the burgers. They are the star attraction!!!

Tried chop shop for the first time last night, not going back for a second. Service was just awful, beer in a plastic cup with a 5 inch head. There tater tot app, was the saddest attempt. Luke warm with pitiful amount of cheese and bacon sprinkled over them. Ordered the shroom burger, was just a soppy extremely salty mess. Literally could have had God knows what on the burger, but would never be able to taste it. Daughter had the Gouda burger, same awful over salted burger. Very disappointed, and overpriced.

The burgers which they are famous for, are amazing. I order the smaller sized one at lunch and it is plenty. Just a note during lunch, if you want full service, sit at the bar. Otherwise you have to order at the counter, get your own drink, then wait for your food to be delivered. If you do sit at the bar though, be ready to order when you give your drink order or you could wait a while for the server to come back to you. Drinks are really good.

The burger was a good size, but on the expensive side. I ordered the Bubba burger. It lacked flavor and the pop I was expecting. Their is a list of burgers to choose from and I shall return to try another.

The Chop Shop is my favorite place to eat in Lakeland and serves the best burgers I have had in Florida. On my most recent visit I had my favorite burger on the menu, the Blue Suede. This burger is topped with creamy and flavorful blue cheese and large crispy onion rings. I always order my burgers medium-rare and they have always been cooked perfectly and fully of juiciness and flavor. On previous occasions I have also tried the Shroom(Topped with Swiss Cheese, Sautéed Mushrooms, and Roasted Garlic Aioli), the Rebel(Topped with Cheddar Cheese, BBQ Pulled Pork, and Cole Slaw), and the Texas Patty Melt(Topped with Sauteed Onions, Cheese, and Roasted Garlic Aioli). All of which were delicious and just as good as they sound. I have also tried the Chili Dogs which were meaty and flavorful. The restaurant also has a decent selection of craft beer on tap which pairs perfectly with the burgers. Overall this place is a must visit.

I am a burger fanatic. I eat so many burgers, I should probably go to meetings about it. There’s just something about the ground beef goodness, topped with an assortment of different fruits/vegetables(technically, tomato is a fruit) and condiments, smashed between two pieces of the oldest artificial food, some kind of delicious bread. This restaurant is an order at the register, take a number, and your food will be brought to you shortly, kind of place. The menu has a bunch of different specialty gourmet burgers, and a few other things. My focus was the burgers, obviously. I had the Blue Suede burger. It was a hard decision to make, because there were at least five I wanted to try right then and there. Unfortunately, my stomach will not hold 5 burgers. I ordered the Blue Suede medium, and it was cooked perfectly. This burger was fantastic! I scarfed it down. The burgers come with fries, and there is an upcharge if you want tots, a bigger upcharge if you want onion rings. Drinks are separate, and it’s serve yourself fountain style. The dining area was comfortable, nice and clean, with plenty of seating. The service was fast and friendly. Did pricing was on the high side, but worth it in my opinion. Like I said, these burgers are good. This place comes recommended.

Juicy, juicy, juicy. That’s the best way to describe the Bubba Burger. Topped with crisp bacon and delicious cheese. This was a pretty savory burger. Thick and cooked perfect. The fries were really good just a bit salty. The onion rings were some of the best I had. I don’t know what kind of batter they use, but damn those rings do come out good. Great place.

Terrible food at a very high price. Pulled pork dogs, less Than a tablespoon of pork and that’s it. No table service, order at the bar and get your own drink and they want tipped for that. Sorry.

Great place. The atmosphere is low key and casual with a touch of an edge. I had the Rebel burger with bacon, cheese, ranch tots!!! So incredible. Highly recommend for a great meal at a great price!

I wanted to love this place. They have everything that should make for a great experience – a great atmosphere, friendly people, and a great menu. But they messed up our order, made a bad(simple) mixed drink, and took FOREVER to get out a kid’s PB&J to fix the mistake. For. Ever. Their prices are steep for what they are, especially for the drinks. It wouldn’t take much for me to love them, but right now, I have to say I was quite disappointed overall.

We had a group of eight. We ordered the bubba burger, BCR tots, 2 buffalo chicken sandwiches, 2 bunny burgers, chicken bacon pita, chopper cheddar burger loaded, hamburger and the rebel burger. We were the second big group that came in at the same time. After ordering they turn our food out really quick. Everything was amazing. I recommend the BCR tots for sure. All of the burgers were awesome!

Finding this local downtown gem was easy, and I’m so glad we decided on it. The atmosphere is wonderful. It’s your typical bar/burger joint with a hint of 60’s flair. Seat and serve yourself. Grab a menu, take a seat, order at the register when ready, and enjoy. The onion rings are hand breaded, the onion ring sauce is tangy with a hint of spiciness, although the fries are a tad bland. I had the rebel dogs. Two all beef hot dogs both topped with cheese sauce, BBQ pulled pork, and their house made coleslaw. Yum!!! Although there is a small kids menu, I wouldn’t exactly being a child in here. It’s basically a bar and there are always people drinking throughout the day. It’s not something I would want to expose my children to.
