Wow, I really like the diverse menu. Service was good. Food: Had the Canton Style Fried Rice with Pork. Honey Glazed Fried Prawns. Both dishes were delicious. I will definitely stopped by here every time I’m in Barona Casino.

Fair. I had eggs Benedict with hash browns here on Christmas. I was pleasantly full. The hollandaise sauce was not too tangy, I’m guessing more mustard than vinegar in it. The hash browns were crispy, and standard fare. They have wi-fi in the restaurant. Always great. But the waitresses tend to rush you. It was completely barren Xmas morning and I still got the pump and dump treatment! There’s like 12 people in the restaurant and I was there for 14 minutes! A good sit down, open 24 hours and always serves breakfast. It’s a little pricey compared to Denny’s, and like I said they want you to eat and go gamble.

I would have given this restaurant 5 stars a year or so ago. Unfortunately, the service has deteriorated drastically. What used to be first class service is now barely tolerable. Understaffed and sometimes downright surly attitudes have me going elsewhere now. The food is still GREAT, but I like to be treated like my business is appreciated, not like I’m a bother.

3 stars cause The food here is amazing and cheap BUT service SUCKS!!! We’ve come here multiple times and service is always bad. Waiter/waitresses usually take 20 min just to get our drinks, I’ve ordered to not have things and it comes with the meal anyway, and the are pros at fly bys(walking past and not doing refills or walking away even after asking if you need anything) There is a waitress named Myleen or something(mid-age waitress) who we’ve had a couple of times and it always seems like we’re bothering her & doesn’t want to help us. *shrug* Guess she is way over her job.

I love the Sage Café. Food is cheap and incredibly good and filling. We usually go for the prime rib dinner. It comes with mashed potatoes, green beans and soup or salad and dessert. By the time we’re done with soup we’re usually too full to get to dinner. also it starts with amazing Indian fry bread. We paid 30 bucks for two dinners and two beverages last time and it all was very timely. I will knock it because I’ve yet to have a meal their where the servers either don’t have an attitude or like they want to be any where but there.

Forget the buffet! This spot blew my mind away. The buffet line was 2 hours wait so I decided to come here and it was the best decision ever made. I ordered the appetizer sampler along with the ribeye steak and lobsters. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and it melts in my mouth and the lobster was very flavorful. The appetizer sampler as chicken wings, jalapeño poppers, cheese sticks. And calamari. And to my surprise, every item on the sampler was high quality and amazing! I could also say that those chicken wings on the sampler was also the best wings i ever had. It was just the perfectly breaded and the quality of the taste you can taste. It’s almost like a fancy restaurant, except all the fancy quirks, just amazing food. My partner had the prime rib which is cut extremely thick! I will come here again on my next visit

Food is yummy and inexpensive. Wait time can be a little long but its worth the wait. The french toast is to die for! Staff is polite as well.

This is located in the Non-Smoking section of the casino towards the hotel check in area/entrance to the hotel. SERVICE The servers are always so friendly here. Quick and efficient! However, the hostesses seem bothered all the time. FOOD — Chicken Tortilla Soup: Delicious! The best tortilla soup I’ve ever had. Nothing can compare. — Tuna Melt: I’m adding this to my list of favs! It’s sooo good! Way better than Feisty Kate’s(in food court). — Bacon Potato Wedges: — French Toast: — Fry Bread: Fluffy goodness. Best enjoyed while it’s still warm. How to eat: Spread some butter on the bread and allow it to melt. Then, sprinkle some cinnamon and powdered sugar all over the top to your desired amount(make sure it’s evenly coated). Drizzle some honey on it. Enjoy! *** Tip: Be sure to come in before 11pm to get a basket of bread and FRYBREAD before your meal.

My favorite part of visiting San Diego’s Barona Valley was the food! Wonderful Native American cuisine lovingly prepared. faithful to authentic, age-old Barona Band of Mission Indian recipes. The casino houses several restaurants including; Barona Oaks Steak House, Sage Café and Seasons Fresh Buffet. The well-appointed steak house offers the finest Southwestern cuisine. I enjoyed an inch thick Buffalo Rib Eye steak that was out of this world. Sage Café serves fry bread with every meal. Almost as soon as you sit down your server arrives with a basket full of still warm fry bread with condiments: fresh comb honey, powdered white sugar and freshly grated cinnamon, on the side. But even naked fry bread is a dream come true. This particular fry bread is as small as a corn tortilla, about the same diameter as a saucer, fluffy as a cloud and without a single trace of oil, or grease. They are made the age-old way in a cast iron pot, one at a time. I liked mine smeared with strawberry jam, but they are also great to scoop up refried beans, and guacamole or meat with. The crowning glory of native cuisine has to be the fry bread taco, what we might recognize as a tostada, or open-faced sandwich. In the Barona version lean chopped steak tops the dinner plate-size fry bread followed by heaps of crisp shredded iceberg lettuce, finely grated cheese, sour cream, fresh mashed guacamole and diced tomatoes. Another popular dish is the empanada, or meat turnover, made from a fry bread casing folded over delectable chopped steak. There’s plenty to keep you busy for a day trip, or a weekend. There’s AmBience Day Spa on the seventh floor of the 400-room hotel. The Barona Valley Museum has a nice assortment of Barona Mission Indian basketry, and other fascinating artifacts. The sprawling 18-hole golf course is gorgeous. Barona Valley is a spectacular hunk of land studded with majestic old growth oaks, and other fine trees.

Came here for a father’s day dinner & it was delightful. It was my first time coming here with my boyfriend’s family. Even though there was a bit of a wait. It was better than waiting 3 hours for the buffet. The menu had alot of variety. The staff was nice & friendly. The prices here are on point for the amount of food you get. I got the ny steak and eggs. The hashbrowns were super crisp just how I like it. The steak was juicy and not dry. The eggs were fluffy! Everything was delicious. I would actually consider coming here than the buffet for the price. Definitely coming back!

My friend raved about the Sage Café, telling me they have the best coffee she’s ever had. So, of course I had to check it out for myself with her. And we drove all the way to the beautiful Barona casino to dine at the Sage Café. My first impression was I like the décor of the restaurant and the dim lighting. Then I was super impressed with the menu and the low prices. We both ordered a sandwich that came with the soup of the day. I had the most amazing Prime Rib sandwich I have ever eaten, along with onion rings and albondigas soup. for 8.95! Oh and my soup was the best I’ve ever had as well. If I could I would rate the food 6 stars. It is that much better than most places I have dined in. My only complaint is about our server Taleen. Half of the time she was hard to talk to. As in it was uncomfortable to ask her any questions about the menu. She answered rudely. But our food was so delicious, I can deal with poor social skills Taleen. I look forward to dining here again. Oh, and Marisol was right their coffee is terrific !!

In the heart of Barona you will find the Sage Café! You will not find a better«bang for you buck» menu at a café in San Diego county. The prices you pay for what you can get here is just unmatched. The portions are great and the quality ranges from good to amazing(shout out to their awesome french toast). Service here is hit and miss but is at the very least professional and polite. However, I would like to see high quality all around on the menu here. Some items are just fantastic whereas others seem to have nothing special added to them and are plain and/or almost bland. Overall, if you go to Barona, I would say the Sage Café is a slightly better choice than the buffet(you won’t wait as long either). Definitely worth trying out!

Always go here if I’m at Barona and actaully play slots or BJ21 for a long time. I’m usually here for their breakfast but I have had dinner her a couple times with my crew. Their breakfast is nothing crazy but will definitely meet your standards for a meal to start your day. The cooking has been consistent here for my plates and the servers are friendly. Nothing’s better than getting a comped meal over here after playing for a good while.

This is my favorite restaurant to eat in when we are here at Barona. The food is fairly inexpensive without sacrificing flavor. The servings are plentiful so I always end up taking half of my entrée to go. However, I do tend to eat the bread in the beginning. Starting at 5 pm, they serve their specialty bread known as ‘fry bread’. You can eat it with butter(my preference) or for a sweet tooth, dip it in honey or sprinkle powdered sugar on it. All of this is given to you on the side automatically as options. My favorite entrée is the vegetable wellington! On a bed of mashed potatoes is a flakey, buttery stuffed pastry filled with mixed vegetables and cheese. As you cut into it, it dips into the mashed potatoes with no effort. On the side is grilled asparagus for even more flavor and crunch to your bite. Rarely do I order another entrée unless I need to eat a salad to save on calories for the day. Their salads are filling and come with soup of the day. I highly recommend the southwest chicken soup. It may be just a cup of it, but it gives you a good smack of flavor and partly fills you so you’ll need to take half your entrée home. If I’m in a fishy mood, I tend to gravitate to the salmon dishes. The texture is soft and juicy so you don’t need your knife to cut into it. Their breakfast is good — the same things you would eat at iHop or Denny’s. I often get breakfast during lunch hours simply because I woke up late and need my eggs first. I love that you can have breakfast at any hour! Customer service is always good. I’m always happy to eat here!

I’ve been to Sage Café for breakfast two times now, and both times I’ve gotten their world famous french toast. If you haven’t tried it yet, I don’t know what state of mind you’re in. It’s simply amazing with the perfect amount of fluff AND«crunch». I can’t find the correct adjective to use, but just know it’s not soggy whatsoever – not even after adding syrup. There’s powdered sugar, as well as a little bowl of fruit that it comes with. Now that I got that spiel about french toast out of the way, I’ll speak about their other entrees and the restaurant as a whole. My parents choose this eatery to eat breakfast 100% of the time while being at Barona for many reasons. 1) Their french test 2) Their other selection of food with great portions for one person 3) It’s a nice restaurant, especially the«outdoor» seating(It’s not actually outside, but separated from the rest of the restaurant by window/doors. It also has seating next to windows, so it’s definitely a brighter, and different ambiance from the rest of the café) Although the service is not top notch, it’s not enough to scare me away from that french toast. Speaking of service, I’ll go into detail about that… Their waitresses are very nice, and when they attend to you, they make sure you’re getting taken care of. But some servers have a tendency to forget orders, or not check on you too often. The very first time I ate here, I was bothered at how long it took to get the food, and at how my server brought my drink out late because he forgot and I had to remind him. After having the french toast, though, all was forgotten. I would definitely go to this place for their breakfast. I haven’t had lunch/dinner entrees from here, except for their subpar buffalo wings, but their prime rib and lobster looks delicious.

I’ve eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed. The ambiance is nice and quiet. The menu is full of different choices from breakfast to steak and Asian cuisine. I ordered the Pad Thai which was delicious. My only complaint would be that the noodles were either bottom of the bag or over cooked. They were really small short noodles. The chicken tortilla soup was great and the bread they serve pre-meal was delicious as well. I would definitely eat here again and again and again. If you can, sit on the patio… Beautiful view.

$ 15 for Soup or Salad(I liked the chicken tortilla soup), Prime Rib with green beans and mash, and a scoop of ice cream for dessert. It was pretty good! I found my prime rib to be a little more cooked than I wanted it to be, but it was still okay. Definitely have the complimentary Indian Fry Bread(or Indian donut) at the beginning of the meal. Put some butter on it then sprinkle on the cinnamon/sugar shaker they have. Add in some honey if you want to go craaaaaazy! Seriously good eats.
