Dr. Richard M. Wupperman M.D.

Dr. Wupperman did my first surgery on my back 7 years ago. I was almost pain free. That was until last year I fell off a tractor trailer at a pumpkin patch. I was in so much pain that I couldn’t move and I was fainting when I tried to stand. I was even hospitalized for 5 days. When I went back to see Wupperman he said he wanted me to see a pain specialist. I was not set on that being as pain meds don’t work on me and neither do injections, but he wanted me to go anyways. So I did. I did the song and dance of meds and injections. Then the pain doc wanted to do a pain block implant in me which I was NOT ok with. He and Dr. Wupperman kept pushing for it and I kept saying no which made me have to go see another doctor who recommended a physical therapy place that changed everything. The pain is still there but I can function again and get to regular life with manageable pain.
I gave Wupperman 4 stars because his staff is amazing, I just wish he would have given me PT as an option instead of not listening to what I was going through or my experiences. I am sure I will need surgery one day but I don’t know if I would go to him because I felt like he down played the whole situation instead of taking me serious.

Dr. Wupperman is the best spine surgeon I’ve ever met, and unfortunately I’ve met a few. I had incapacitating neck and arm pain which didn’t respond to chiropractic, PT, or pain management. I reluctantly had surgery, but awoke with zero arm and minimal neck pain. He stayed engaged throughout my recovery, which was easier than I expected. I’m doing great now, and wouldn’t consider going anywhere else.

I’ve had 2 spinal surgeries with Dr. Wupperman and highly recommend him. Latest surgery was at LRMC and my recovery is ahead of schedule. My thanks to Dr. Wupperman for his outstanding medical knowledge & surgical skills.

Dr. Wupperman is excellent. He took care of me and my messed up discs! He is very professional, has great «bedside manners» explains everything very carefully and clearly. He is Open to questions, he is patient and very caring. He loves being a Dr. And it shows. His staff are awesome from reception to the nurses, to his medical team he operates with. I would recommend him. He is a very good surgeon.
I am so happy he is here in Lakeway Regional.

Dr. Wupperman (aka «The Wuppster») operated on my mother about 6 months ago, and she couldn’t be happier! He performed an L4-​S1 minimally invasive «front/​back» fusion without incident. Recovery was quick and fusion has already begun to take hold. Dr. Wupperman is a fantastic surgeon, and my mother feels very lucky to have found him.

Seemed quite caring on my initial visit with him this week. He appeared genuinely interested in my spine issues, and took the time to answer all my questions. I’ll definitely return for my follow-​up.
