I was looking for some authentic Korean food and this place was perfect. Casual seating and quick service. Ju(owner) took my order and cooked the Bulgogi which was simply amazing. The beef was marinated and cooked wonderfully with a side of rice and greens. Several small dishes also complimented the order which consisted kimche, radishes, etc. Food was so good I ordered one to go for my wife when she got home from work. The best part though was Ju the owner. Very warm, kind, and friendly. One hint: The restaurant is to the right of the front door and not the counter to the left which has cold food to be purchased and cooked later. They are two separate businesses.

The atmosphere is small and cute, it’s not the most decorative but that really does not matter once trying the food. Although the store is a family friend owned, the restaurant is just installed. I love the food there though! Coming in, they were welcoming and warm, came to help quickly and efficiently. And the food came out so quickly. I love the omelette with friend rice, and they are lenient in removing items! Most places throw a hissy fit about ingredients. However this place was understanding and quickly fixed it. The hot wings weren’t as spicy as I would have liked, but still one of the best I’ve ever tried! And the small space gave us a warm cozy place to sit with my family for our last meal. I wouldn’t recommend a HUGE group, but 2 – 6 is probably a max.

Delicious food, must try their sushi and the hot wings they have. Close to JBLM and they are inside the Asian market. Food is cheap and the portion is big.

Nice café located inside a grocery store. It’s not a fancy grill at your table Korean place. This is more about wanting something akin to oma’s cooking. There is a pretty large menu with stews, meat dishes, bibimbap, noodles, etc. You get barley tea, some banchan, & rice with every meal. I’ve had many different things here and they have all been good. I am a big fan of their bibimbap. Their combo has a ton of food, and a little bit of everything: meat, rice, mandu, mac salad, kimchi, & vegetables. The price is low. My mom says that it is a madhouse during lunch.

Kinda cool little place. Cafeteria option inside a Korean market. I had the spicy pork over rice. Generous amount of meat and rice and a cabbage salad with dressing. Served with 4 condiments. I enjoyed the seaweed side more than the others. Need I mention it was spicy? I added some of the condiments, to enjoy the high end of the scoville scale on the meal. I’ll go back the next time I’m in town.

The YukGae Jang is my favorite. Ok, well, I must confess, I’ve not tried many other dishes. I have tried the Kimchi Jjigae and Doenjang Jjigae, oh and I can’t forget the Sundubu Jjigae. And I do like the Mul-Naengmyeon on a hot day. I eat here each time I’m in the neighborhood, which, lately is once a month. It’s my favorite place to eat Korean food in Tacoma.

Sadly they are now out of business. Hope an equally good group of cooks opens up in their place.

Cheap Korean Bento Boxes? COUNTMEIN! Sometimes a place is so good you really don’t have to write much since the food speaks for itself. located on the inside of Asian Market this place is truly a hidden Gem and the owners here must have a true appreciation for their customers cause all the food is filled with love and care! How do I know this? Cause I can taste it! This place fills up fast during the lunch rush but they also offer take-out. They also have great Korean Soups & Cold noodles(Naeng Myun).

Awesome Awesome Awesome!!! This place is just plane good korean food. It’s not fancy, it’s not expensive. It’s a whole in the wall restuarant set inside a super market. The cooks are super friendly and fast. Popular enought with the regulars and irregulars that they often run out of certain dishes. I would highly recommend anything from this place but things that make me come here is when I want a quick bite on to go like Kim Bap. Or one may way home from work instead of eating dried burnt chicken teriyaki… I come here for freshly prepared korean food with people who smile when they serve it to you.
