This cute little Korean café is located in an Asian grocery store. S.O. to my Unilocal girl, Masil, who told me about the grocery store and the café. Kimchee Bistro is small and an unexpected surprise to find it in the grocery store. But it fits in along the lines of most Asian grocery stores, where they usually have an eating place of some sort. Although I call it a café, it really is a restaurant on its own. They have quite a substantial offering of food items on their menu, ranging from sushi rolls to jigae to full on plated Korean BBQ. The day I visited I opted for the variety combo box with bulgogi. At $ 12.99, I kind of thought it was pricey, but it was pretty huge(I should have just ordered a jigae or jap chae), I sat there for almost an hour trying to finish it. It had 4 sushi roll pieces, a nice salad with ginger dressing, 2 gyoza/dumplings, rice, and a generous amount of bulgogi. And, on top of that, they gave me ban chan(4). All the food was good, the kimchi was a lot spicier than most Korean places I visit in the Seattle area(which to me, translates to more authentic kimchi). I literally struggled with finishing this meal, so it was $ 12.99 well spent. They also do catering dishes, with a minimum order of $ 120. Now if this was near me, I would definitely find myself here a lot. But since this is in Lakewood(or La-hood), I would only come here if I was in the area, but it would make one the top places I would go to grab a bite.
