I am not really a Payless shopper. But me and my daughter went in and she tried on some moderate price sandals. Of course they didn’t feet right. So my daughter end up picking some accessories. They were kind of cute. Buy one and get ½ of the other.

Went in on Saturday afternoon with my mom just to kill some time. And it they had a BOGO sale which was convenient since I was looking for some new dress shoes for work. The saleslady was nice, a little in my face about what shoes I was looking for and what size I needed, but overall she was helpful. I can, however, do my own shopping, and since the store was small it was easy to navigate. The cashier asked my mother if she was paying for my shoes. I was a little offended because no, I can pay for my own dang shoes, thank you! Not sure how I felt about that and plus, she was on the phone for forever before she rang up our purchases. She was still nice, but think about what you say before you say it. All in all, this was probably one of the nicer Payless Shoe Stores I’ve been into. And I walked out with 2 new pairs of shoes for $ 35. I think that’s a win — although they weren’t dress shoes :)

The employees always greet you and offer help. No complaints there. I’ve never had to wait in a line here… EVER! I don’t even really have to go into detail about the shoes, do I?

Good service. Was able to exchange my shoes readily. It’s also a quiet location and near Walmart. There are discounts frequently offered such as 20−25% off shoes or BOGO deals.

I really don’t like wearing shoes. :-p However, when it comes to my footwear, I have no need to impress anybody else but myself. That means not shelling out the big bucks, so I just get my everyday casual and work shoes from Payless Shoe Source. As John T. stated, this Payless location in the Long Beach Towne Center is easier to get to than the Lakewood Mall store. I try to make sure that there’s some kind of special going on before I purchase anything. The last time I was here, they were having a buy one pair and get a second pair for half price special. I took advantage of the special by buying a pair of athletic shoes and a pair of dress shoes(for work). Amazingly enough, the shoes I’ve bought from Payless usually last me a good while(over a year, and that’s wearing them every day). I like being able to just grab what I want and pay for it. Of course, the cashier will try to sell you more stuff like laces, polish, etc., but I’m sure that’s their job. I’ve always had friendly and helpful service at this store. Parking is usually not a problem, except it might get a little crazy on the weekends with Lowe’s and Wal-Mart being close by.

This payless is easier to get to than the one in the Lakewood Mall. I don’t know how they can sell the shoes for so cheap and make a profit. I bought one pair on clearance for $ 4.00! How is that possible? Some lady in a third world country must have worked all night for those shoes! It’s a crazy world.
