Across the board, not bad. Nice and polite staff, clean restaurant, good prices, okay food. Good location for those in the Belmar area. But in the end, not in my Top 10(or even 15) of best Phở places in town. Every place on Federal has them beat.

I absolutely love this place! They are always so friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic and the portions are huge! The phở is some of the best.

I’m the type that usually schleps on over to Federal for my Phở Phix. So I may be a little spoiled. With that said… Phở Saigon Basil is nearby. Like, I could walk. So for convenience, it’s A-Ok. I mean… At least I don’t have to sit at red lights on Alameda. And I would probably pick up some soup on my way home again, if the craving stuck. So the Phở is doable… But… I’m a HUGE fan of Vietnamese Combination Rice Plates. All in one, baby. Spring Rolls, lots of meats, egg, shrimp, rice… Fish Sauce to dunk… Phở Saigon’s was passable, but the shrimp were so rubbery and old that even I didn’t eat them(And I don’t waste shrimp!)… Also the Spring Rolls were really greasy. I wouldn’t get that again. Maybe Phở-get about the rest of the menu, and stick to the Phở.

Fast, good service, cheap and good food, really can’t ask for more :-) Spoiled by the good quality of Phở places in California, this one is actually pretty good.

We came upon this little gem after a visit to the gym over at Belmar. The phở is pretty good. The broth is a little sweet to start out but once you’ve added some veg and your sauce choices it lends itself to the overall flavor quite nicely. The meats are plentiful but the noodles are even more plentiful. I still had noodles left over long after I finished the proteins which normally doesn’t happen at other phở joints we’ve visited. The boba smoothies are good(honey dew on this visit…) but are a little confusing on the menu. It says you can add boba for 75 cents. The menu says Boba-Smoothies…I checked my receipt as we ordered two smoothies and got boba in both but were not charged the extra 75 cents. So I’m not sure if extra boba is 75 cents or if they just forwent the charge since my girl asked them and suggested it was a little misleading. Either way it was a pleasant experience. The place seems very clean up front and behind the cashier station. Can’t see the kitchen but I’d imagine it extends back there. Will we be back? More than likely :-)

Fast, friendly service, yummy food, reasonable prices! And it’s one of the cleanest places I’ve been. I’ll admit, at first sip, I was worried the broth was going to be too sweet. But the lime, jalapeño, sriracha, and bean sprouts rounded it out nicely. The meat was just the right amount, the noodles were a bit too prevalent(I think I left half in my bowl), and the veggie accompaniment was more appropriately sized for the two of us than the usual large spread we’re often presented with. We still didn’t use it all, but it was nice to feel like we weren’t wasting so much. You may have noticed I’m a bit critical of phở places that lack in the hydration department. This place serves nice large plastic cups with just a little ice, so you get a lot of water to actually drink. I like that. And it saves the staff from having to worry about refilling so frequently. They have boba smoothies on the menu, yet just below there’s a price to add boba. When I asked, it was unclear what the difference was. I decided against adding boba, though my smoothie still came with it… Perhaps that’s an option for people who want extra? The wording was just a bit unclear. Either way, though I’ve had much softer boba, the green tea and honey dew options are both delicious. All in all, I’d recommend phở Saigon basil in a heartbeat. And in the words of Arnold: «I’ll be bahk»

I frequent this place, not only because I am in the neighborhood, but because it truly is delicious! I LOVE this place. Great customer service, great menu, great prices… and their broth is phở yum yum! Thank you Phở Basil for coming to Belmar!

Probably the least authentic phở I’ve ever had. We called in a Togo order and got a shrimp and tofu noodle bowl. The meal wasn’t hot and we picked it up 15 minutes after ordering. The tofu was«fried» but also cold. Shrimp was fine, they did give more than other places. It was more expensive than any other place I’ve ordered phở. The service was nice and quick. I would not recommend this place if it is your first time trying Vietnamese good.

I can’t give a legitimate review of this place because I haven’t dined here; and I’m not sure how to remove this from my Unilocal«to be reviewed» list. My cousin and I stopped here with the intention of having some banh mi – apparently they were out of the bread and possibly(?) the meat for banh mi sandwiches — they’d just made their last one 20 minutes prior? So… I dunno about this place. It looks like a servicable phở place, phở sure: p — they have boba, and everything else you might expect… but banh mi? Not for me and my cousin… maybe we’ll stop in again sometime and see if they have the goods in stock.

230 pm on a Saturday: Walked in and observed 2 of the 20 or 25 tables had people at them. I sat down at a 4 top table without any instruction, took off my sunglasses and started to watch the tv that was in front of me. A young Asian gent came over and adked if it was just me. I said yes and asked me to «move to a table for one». Lmao. I was irritated and dumbfounded, but not mad. I obliged. Down to business: Veggie phở with veggie broth was relatively tasteless, but I could definitely taste MSG in there.(It’s hard to find phở without MSG), so no surprise there. On a 1 to 10 scale, the fresh basil was about a 5, the sprouts were an 8, and the jalapeños were about a 7. PROS: Clean. Ok service. Average priced. CONS: Parking. Just so-so phở NOCORRIANDER. Just basil, sprouts, and jalapeños.

As I sit here in my apartment right behind the Belmar square eating an amazing bowl of Briskit Phở and sipping on a strawberry boba smoothie that I just picked up from Phở Saigon Basil Belmar I realized I owed these guys some major kudos. I cannot even begin to explain the freshness and deliciousness of their food. It’s unbelievable. My boyfriend and I just moved into this area less than a month ago and have tried the MANY options the Belmar square has to offer but we’ve literally come to Phở Saigon Basil well over 5 times(I’m talking in a matter of three weeks). The pricing is unheard of low, customer service is fantastic, and the food quality standard is sky high. If you haven’t come here yet, you’re missing out. Go.

In an area reminiscent of The Row back home in the South Bay it was a surprise to find this Viet resto. It’s big and with an open style arrangement inside. It was very inviting. I tried their Grilled Pork plate. I was disappointed. When you describe a dish as grilled I better see some kind of evidence that it was grilled. Or taste the apparent grilled taste. This dish had none of the mentioned qualities a grilled dish should have. They serve fried rice but no brown rice. That’s fine. I can overlook that. I also tried their Lychee Boba. Coming from San Jose where the best of the best boba is I can tell you this boba is not something I would get again. The staff were really great. Very attentive. Extra outside seating. Minimum wait for your order. I’m giving it four stars based on the staff, the awesome location and their awesome fried chicken wings. This was one of the best wings I’ve ever had! I will go back to try their other dishes. Maybe a phở?

I stopped by here last nite for a quick phở fix. I now live in California and haven’t had Vietnamese on Federal like some of the other Unilocalers but I thought this one of the best phở’s I’ve had in awhile. Their broth was very flavorful and clear. I always get the rare steak and ask for extra lime. I’m glad I did because I agree with other Unilocalers that their broth is a bit sweet. This is the first time I tried phở to go. It was awesome. Everything is packed separate for you and so you can combine everything together at home. I got it to the hotel and let it sit for a few minutes and the broth was still steaming hot.

The initial broth is bland but they give A TON of noodles. A large bowl definitely turned into two meals. I’ll probably come back only out of convenience.

I used to hop around Federal for phở until I found this place. Overall, it’s a more enjoyable experience than the Federal restaurants. They don’t yell at you upon walking in and wave you to some table. This place actually refills your water when your mouth is on fire from dipping food in too much siracha! I love the service, the spring rolls, the cold noodle bowls with egg rolls or pork(both toppings are seriously delicious) and a phở bowl sans meat. The employees even remember regulars and make small talk, which is always a bonus.

Phở Saigon Basil is a good place to go when you are looking for Vietnamese food west of Federal. I agree with other reviewers that everything is a little bit higher priced(about a dollar per meal higher than you’d expect), but I expect that rent is a lot higher in Belmar than on Federal and I also agree that the menu is a little bit Americanized and not as flavorful as I expected. The Phở is a touch sweet, but the broth is nice and clear, not cloudy. The hosin sauce brand that they use is also a little sweet. Have I had better Phở? Yes, but not near Belmar. Their Banh Mi sandwich was good, not great. The bread was good — fresh and flaky, the fixings were a little bit blander than I expected. I would recommend Phở Saigon Basil to anyone looking for Vietnamese in the Belmar area and doesn’t want to head east.

Nice place for everyone except probably Vietnamese, maybe too Americanized for them. In other words, you can visit here without any hesitation. Friendly efficient service, clean and tidy, basic menu, and convenient location. Taste was good enough though the reason why I didn’t give them 5 stars was I prefer more authentic style food. Even then I would say it’s a good Vietnamese food place.

I haven’t had great Phở in the past so on our first visit here although I thought the Phở was amazing I gave a reserved four stars as I hadn’t had a chance to compare it to one of their very highly rated competitors. Now that I have had a chance to visit their competitor that Unilocalers seem to think has the best Phở in Denver I can now say confidently that this Phở is five star Phở and blows away the competition.
