Wow what a fun place! Went out with a group of friends and ordered a few pitchers of beer and had a ball at pool. The staff were super friendly and very attentive. I enjoy that they actually take the time to get to know you a little. There was a local Dj playing the night we were there so a lot of dancing was going on. If you’re hunting for the opposite sex, the bar is filled with mostly men. FYI.

Started off walking through the door to two nasty servers who wouldn’t even greet me at the door. I was completely disrespected and pointed at the moment I walked through the door as if my business didn’t matter. Two girls proceed to snicker about me giving me dirty looks till I decided to walk out the door. Whoever owns this place needs to hire some decent servers as I’m sure turning away business is not the way to go. To literally size a customer up and dismiss their existence is plan disrespectful. Wouldn’t be able to rate there food but I am sure I don’t miss the snooty special complaints of sarcastic servers. I have never seen such rude service in the many years I go out to eat.

The food was good but it security would not let me finish my drink after closing time. Very rude. Bartender was rude taking our order too!

Came here last Tuesday for dinner around 6pm because my wife was craving boneless wings and we live nearby. It was very dead inside, so I guess this is more of a late night spot. The waitress was very nice and attentive, and the food was pretty good. The boneless wings and my chicken quesadilla were great, but my wife got the prime rib special which was not so great. It looked good from the outside, but had the consistency of a Salisbury steak, very mushy and gross. So other than the gross prime rib, everything was great and I’ve heard from friends this is a cool late night spot… Just go for the chicken quesadilla, not the prime rib ;)

LUNCHREVIEW: Successful stop yesterday with the new husband!(Eeee) I like that The Schooner has tator tots, steak fries, or curly fries to choose from. Mmm. The Club Sandwich: REAL carved turkey, delicious bacon, choice from many breads. Hubby had the Fish ‘n Chips and loved it. It’s a LOT of food. Shea was our waitress and a gem. She was perfect. Wouldn’t hesitate to go here on another weekday to get a quick, hot, filling lunch.

This place has a little bit of everything! Pool, music, dancing. I havent really had a meal here but everything that I have tried has been«good bar food». My favorite part is how if you bring enough people to go dancing, the dance floor is really not that big, so it almost feels like a private party with all of your friends.

I went here during lunch on Friday! My friend took a bunch of us out! Thought that this place was so unique that I really wanted to bring my whole family out! They would have a great time looking over the old video games and captain ship walkway. The food was great! we all had the fish and chips best fish and chips I have ever tasted. Great place to eat!!!

$ 5 domestic pitchers in Thursday afternoons are unbeatable, and the wait staff is very friendly.

Stopped by for happy hour on a Tuesday evening after work to celebrate my work anniversary. We chanced it since we’ve never been here before, and didn’t want to do the whole Applebee’s thing. Can’t say much for the food, honestly I wasn’t too impressed by it. The chicken breast tenders meal were more like frozen not-sure-if-its-real-chicken meal-but-we-will-deep-fry-it-and-say-it-is. My order came out incorrect as I asked for tater tots but got fries instead. Eh. Whatever. However, the drinks were good. Service was pretty good as well, our server was attentive and came to check on us quite often, also offering suggestions off the menu. I gave my stars for the drinks and service, but had to take one away for my not-so-sure-its-real-chicken breast tenders.

Not a bad place to have a drink and have fun. There are billiards, usually some DJ playing mainly hip hop or they have a karaōke nights. And enough space to sit, or dance, whatever you want. Beer is not bad and generally speaking, the enviroment is pretty friendly.

Karaōke Sun-weds starting at 9. Drinks are inexpensive and there are generally specials including spin the wheel specials every 30 min during the week. Bartender Joe is very friendly and I was so impressed that he remembered my name the second time i came in(weeks after my initial visit and before I handed him my debit card). Loooooove that they have a healthy snack option — veggie platter(the ranch dressing is seriously amazing) and it’s a very generous portion for $ 4.99. $ 2 drink specials Tuesdays and I believe thursday is ladies night with drink specials. Have never had to pay a cover and well, it must be said, LOTS of hot military guys in there at any given point in time, so if that’s your thing, well I’d highly advise checking it out! :)

Great service. Nice seating — fried pickles were delicious. Music came on at 915. Bar atmosphere.

I like the atmosphere and service. A very 70s feel to the décor. Apparently the late night crowd gets rowdy as a fair number of security folks showed up at the doors to check IDs. Food was standard fare with nothing to excite or disappoint. I’d go back again.

The service we had was wonderful especially considering the large number of people gathered for Sunday football. Speaking of Sunday football there were all kinds of fans there and everyone was having a blast. Seems like all the teams fans are welcomed as long as they can handle the friendly ribbing. A few guys got a little loud but it was more entertaining watching all the smack talk. If you need a place to go watch a good game and eat a good hamburger this is the place. If the inside of the place was a little better cared for it would be nicer but it was clean and fun. To me that is all that matters.

I can only review the food as I’ve never been here for a night out drinking. But I love the Deckhand sandwich for lunch. It’s ham, roast beef and pork on a French roll with Swiss. The French Dip is not so great but we decided that a Deckhand is even better when dipped in the au jus. The sandwiches are huge and delicious. It’s 21 and over so I sometimes have to go pick up sandwiches for me and the kids since they love them too.

The waitress/bartender was super nice(: The drinks were yummy. The cheesy breadsticks and oriental chicken salad(which the lady kindly split into two plates for us) was quite tasty. The people there… uhh… yea. I have never been to a bar before and last night was my first. I did not know what to expect. I think I might have had a little too high of expectations. After all, it is Tacoma. It was quite loud, random people dancing, talking, whatnot. I don’t know if I would go again in the near future but I give it 4 stars for the food and drinks. I haven’t had much experience to decipher whether it was GREAT or just horrible. I liked the Tokyo Scream and Raspberry Lime Daquiri(: Quite interesting drinks. I think I might want to come in the daytime for a meal as the restaurant setting(: Maybe then I will update my review for the restaurant dining experience.

Just disappointed with the honesty of SOME of the staff. Our Cub Scout pack lost 2 Seahawks tins and one box of microwave popcorn, to one cub that’s a camp he misses out on and $ 100 the Pack has to pay out for the stolen popcorn. This just makes me think its not a place I’d visit anymore. As friendly as staff can be working for their tips I still question the character of some! Of all the years selling popcorn, this is the first time this type of theft has happened — sad

Went there a decade ago the first time and it was ok. The bartender sucked then. He demanded to see my ID to verify my age – I was older than he was and he was just cruising. He did that to the next woman too and she was obviously old enough too. So I didn’t go there again for a while. Then there was the shooting that happened and I avoided the place for a long time. Decided to go there after they fixed up the joint and see what was different. Not much. It was loud, smelly, full of drunks, and the food isn’t all that good. Would not even recommend going there for a beer. They have just the standard variety. Nothing special.

Do you ever feel, you know, not so fresh? The poor ol’ Schooner Pub & Galley must feel that way a lot these days… I think its great that there’s an old wooden sailing vessel themed bar in Lakewood; its just too bad that its kind of run down and has a reputation for attracting shitheads and troublemakers. I can’t think of any other bar in the Tacoma area that would have such a visible security presence on a Monday evening… Kind of made me feel like I was doing something wrong just by being in there. There are several big LCDTV screens. Three pool tables. Two dart boards. Good selection of draft beer as well as a full bar. Food is meh.
