A delightful little restaurant in Lambertville, NJ. We enjoyed a pre-Mother’s Day dinner there on Saturday. The dining room where we were seated was upstairs with a George Washington theme going on — but tastefully, and period correct decorating. Terry, the very attentive server was a real delight. We both enjoyed large Caesar salads, and both ordered the salmon dish. The main course was done exactly as it should have been. You’ll enjoy this little gem in Lambertville!

After years of hearing about Anton’s I finally found my way there. Was not disappointed. Quaint, quirky bar area. The food was outstanding & the staff was outstanding as well. Worth a 45 minute drive in my humble opinion.

Love it! Great food in a quaint location. Super place for a date night! Everything is top notch including the friendly waitstaff. Very gay friendly. The dining room is a step back to the 1920’s era. 1000 times better than Hamilton Room !!!

Ate in the bar, which features a slightly more limited menu than the restaurant proper. Ordered 4 courses: oysters, beet salad, white pizza, shrimp with peanut sauce. Oysters were really quite fresh and good. The rest was terrible on top of terrible. The food was tasteless to gross. The shrimp was icing on the cake: 3 shrimp for an entire entrée. The servers generally seemed confused and unaccustomed to serving either food or drink. In the positive column: the ambiance and space of the bar is nice. Manager was attentive.

4 dishes ordered. All rated 5 star tonight. Seafood, red meat, appetizers, salads, risotto. They nailed everything.

Well, everything was going well. Drinks were being served quickly enough to our table of 10, the appetizers were tasty and the atmosphere was great. However, my friend order a 4th martini and was told no. Apparently, having more than three up drinks is not allowed. After we finished dinner, we decided to have one last drink at the bar, despite us all being annoyed with the situation, but were refused because you need to be seated in one of the five bar stools. If you’re standing, never mind. Never seen this before, this was ridiculous!

I was in here this past weekend with a party of nine. I was impressed that I was able to book the table on a Thursday for that coming Saturday, kudos to Anton’s for making that happen. I’ve been here once before and had such a wonderful, memorable, romantic time. It’s very cozy, historical, the ambience is just fantastic. This time around we sat upstairs in the dining room. Very warm with the fire and plenty of space for each of us at the table as well as in relation to the other tables around us. Despite is having three spills at the table(wine, vodka and coffee) our servers were very polite, patient and friendly. There was a good vibe going on with everyone, even the manager came in a few times to help out and check in. The food was fantastic! Everything from chicken liver pâté to butternut squash soup and white pizza covered the table for out first course. Some of us had the excellent roasted beet and goat cheese salad for our second course. For the main course, most everyone ordered the duck special. There was an order of the pork chop, salmon, skate and I had the steak au poirve. Everything was excellent, cooked and served perfectly. I was kind of surprised there wasn’t a drink listing for wines, beers and cocktails but I also didn’t mind having to read through lists and make a decision. Instead, I simply ordered Pino Noir and enjoyed what they selected for me. Another one of the many great places to dine in Lambertville, really enjoyed this visit and plan to come back soon.

Sat on the bar side which feels like an old Victorian parlor. Absolutely wonderful, romantic and intimate experience. Staff was attentive without being imposing. Wonderful experience all around.

Wonderful experience at Anton’s last night. Cozy bar with a great bartender, he was witty and shared with us the history of the Swan. Although it was our first time visiting he made us feel like long lost friends. Dinner was spectacular. The dining room is cozy yet sophisticated. The food, off the charts good. Started with the homemade bread, delicious, crab cakes(the real deal) no filler here. Grouper and Chicken entrees were perfect, fresh and cooked to perfection. Service attentive and non-obtrusive. All in all, Anton’s is a winner in every category. Cant wait to go back.

Very fine food, with an attempt to overcharge me by exactly $ 20 served up for dessert. I was given an absurd excuse for this error, specifically that they use an «antiquated system» for their checks. I do not accept this, because I myself successfully used this same antiquated system when I was a waiter years ago(paper, pencil, and arithmetic.) The amount of error does not easily lend itself to transposition error, charge for the wrong item, addition carry error, or even an extra item, Given the fact that I was also presented with a check that did not itemize our order(ONLY4ITEMS — 2 entrees, a salad, a bottle of wine!) any more specifically than«food», «bar», «tax», and«total», I feel that an attempt was made to cheat us. The bill was corrected with little more apology than«oops, sh*t happens», and a sarcastic remark about them applauding that I was able to master paper checks and addition when I mentioned it. This was the snooty hostess’s remark. Also, the check had two different lines for tax — tax on food, and tax on the wine, which I had NEVER seen in a NJ establishment, where listed drink prices have ALWAYS included tax, at least in my lifetime, leading me to believe that this is highly irregular and perhaps illegal. I feel I can only trust the cook here, and will not be back, ever.

Elegant and intimate. The food was phenomenal. I had the tuna and my girlfriend had the filet, both were cooked perfectly. Caesar salad was fresh and excellently executed. Flourless chocolate cake was amazing. If you want to impress a someone, this is your place!

Dined last night with a party of five long time friends and it was the perfect atmosphere to talk, laugh, eat and drink. The menu was varied and everything sounded so good. The service was professional and attentive without being too much. Accommodations were made to switch the mashed pototes for the risotto without a problem. Don’t wait for a special occasion, The Swan is wonderful.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner. The dining room wasn’t open at 5pm so they said we can eat in the bar area. The décor was interesting but overall it was uncomfortable. I ordered a burger,($ 14) and my wife ordered the chicken over rice($ 28). After waiting 30 minutes, we got our meals. My burger was tasty, but very small. It was served on a small bun, and it came with ruffles potato chips which I was not really wowed by. My wife got a very small portion of chicken. We walked out hungry, after being uncomfortable for so long it was nice to stand up and walked around. Probably a good bar if your like 60, but I’d avoid this place if your in the area, there are much better places around.

If you don’t like the atmosphere here you may need an MRI. Service is excellent and food here is very good as well. On a winter night the fireplace in the bar and the décor makes me feel like I’m Ernest Hemingway.

Went to dinner for my wife’s birthday and happened upon Anton’s. This was a great find. Classic bar in the Swan hotel served an equally classic Manhattan while we waited for our table. We started with an excellent grilled asparagus risotto followed by a pear and gorgonzola salad. This was one of the best salads I’ve had in while. I had the petite filet(with more gorgonzola) for my entrée and my wife ordered a vegetable plate. Both presentation and flavor showed that the chef truly cared about his product. We finished with the chipotle chocolate cake, absolutely incredible… definitely a winner. I would have given it 5 stars but the only downside was our server who really lacked personality. It appeared she was uncomfortable with all our interactions and struggled giving recommendations on food or wine.

I love the Swan. You can always slide in there and lose yourself in a glass of wine and the best burger around. The atmosphere mellows you nicely, which may explain why some hurried, high-strung hats struggle. It’s the best place to be when the fire is toasty and you’ve got a great someone to smile at. The menu changes seasonally but you can always depend on the classics here. The food is fantastic, as is the value. You will leave the perfect amount of sated and in a dreamy smoky haze if you do it right. Mwah!

My chili tasted like it was dumped out of a can, heated to a lukewarm temperature and poured into a bowl. Plop! It closely resembled dog food: soupy dog food. It didn’t taste horrible, but it wasn’t particularly good, either, and the stingy little scrap of cornbread that came with it was highly disappointing, being too greasy, with no corn flavor, like good cornbread should have. Good chili and cornbread aren’t hard to make, so why was it so mediocre? The waitress was a middle-aged woman with blond hair and several tattoos who seemed a bit off. She kept giving us the side-eye, and remarked that my husband ate very quickly. When she saw me looking at the roof of the bar(we sat outside in the courtyard, and I was admiring the architecture) she asked if someone was up there, about to jump. I have no idea what was up with that, but it was weird. My husband said his crabcake was okay, but nothing special, unlike the crabcakes at Steakhouse 85 in New Brunswick, which have large chunks of crabmeat and are seasoned perfectly. This crabcake was just kind of blah. The outdoor seating next to the bar was delightful, however, and dogs are welcome there, which is a plus. It’s a nice, secluded spot with a couple of pretty fountains, and was by far the best part of the meal.

Cool setting with excellent décor and comfortable seating. Ordered an espresso and a scotch and both were quite good. Would like to come back for dinner as the menu options sound appealing.
