I’m so happy I found this store. It’s located in the same shopping gallery as the Springhouse Tap Room on West King Street and just south of Central Market. The owner is a very kind and knowledgeable gentlemen who is happy to answer any questions you may have. I haven’t seen such a nice collection of British/Celtic items in a while. The closest I know of is Oxford Hall in New Cumberland, which is mostly Irish. I found a Shakespeare«insult» mug for my mother and few other items. Admittedly I was most excited to find my raisin and biscuit Yorkies that I adore. Oh, and Smoky Bacon Tayto Crisps. Awesome! Even if you haven’t been to England, it’s a fun little shop, but if you have, you’ll have a great walk down memory lane.

My husband and I didn’t find much at the Central Market but I was excited to come out of the market and discover this British store. You walk down some steps and are surrounded by British teapots, tea cozies, British books, cds, cards, jams, chocolates, shortbreads, christmas puddings, etc. David, the owner, was very friendly and even offered to order my favorite Tiptree jam that they did not carry. However, they had other flavors of Tiptree jam(IT’S THEBEST), including their seasonal jam for Christmas. I got a random find of a vintage set of Beatrix Potter books(author of the Tale of Peter Rabbit). If you need a good present for a kid, they have an extensive selection of higher end stuffed animals that are very realistic looking. I also got two holiday cds from Britain symphonies and orchestras. They also have some random mugs and we got a flat-coated retriever mug which I had never seen before(our dog is half flat-coated retriever). Yes, the store is a hodge podge of British items but it’s a gold mine if you are an Anglophile.

Stumbled upon this little shop by accident — and so happy we did! Was able to satisfy many cravings since returning from the UK. Nice selection and reasonable prices. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

The best little store for your celtic needs. Foods, gifts, wares, snacks — anything you would like is jammed into this tiny little space. The inventory is large, and he is able to get you anything you’d like. A true Brit runs the place and loves to talk football if you have a minute. Vegetarian Haggis? Yep, they have that as well.

As an ex-pat whose daughter lives in Lancaster we are regular visitors as despite having moved over here 22 years ago there are still things that Britain does best, and quite a few of them are available in Britain’s Best. If only they could get a crusty farmhouse loaf we would be all set. My only criticism is that they aren’t open enough, although I understand why and they don’t have a web site or at least a Facebook page. Keep up the great work.
