I just moved from Philadelphia(and its amazing brunch spots) and had a friend visiting me in Lancaster. I picked out this place because it’s super cute from the outside. We arrived around 1pm on a Saturday(this place closes around 3pm) and didn’t get the nicest greeting. We were quickly seated inside though, and our server was quite attentive. I ordered the Belt. Contrary to the menu, I did not receive guacamole on the sandwich. Overall, it was a pretty good sandwich. I wasn’t a fan of the chips on the side(really?), but didn’t have to eat them. My friend ordered the Banana Pecan Pancakes. She’s a picky eater, but thoroughly enjoyed them, so I must admit I was impressed that she enjoyed her meal as much as she did. I’d like to go back again and see if I can give this place another star.

Great local spot, the food is as good as it gets for a brunch spot. We love the cosy atmosphere and friendly service. They have a lot of unique brunch/breakfast choices that are all extremely tasty.

I frequent Forknspoon and am always pleased with the service, food and atmosphere. They are one of a few, in Lancaster, who aspire to use organic ingredients and change the menu based on seasons. They are typically busy but I find that they do a good job of seating people within reasonable amounts of time(plus it’s worth it because the food is prepared quickly and is healthy/tasty!). They also just added reservation(s) capabilities, a plus. I’m surprised by the negative reviews and needed to reassure any skeptics that it’s definitely worth trying. I have always had a positive experience and think the staff is great!

I would love to try this place again but the two times I tried to go there with out of town visitors the chef behind the counter was beyond rude. The one time we came there were only two full tables. the chef looked at us, said it would be a long wait and went right back to cooking. No matter how good the food might be I can’t get over the hostile attitude. I’ll take my business elsewhere.

ForknSpoon Café is my kind of place. I was so thrilled to find this(thanks, Unilocalers!) during our weekend trip up to Lancaster. After a weird eating schedule the previous day, I woke up completely famished on Saturday morning. My fiancé and I weren’t looking for typical diner food, which seems to be abundant in the area, so when my Unilocal app led us to ForknSpoon, we were sold. The menu is small, but everything sounds delicious, and the place itself is tiny, but cozy. I ordered the carb buster, which is two poached eggs served atop zucchini, squash, onions, peppers, and two slices of fresh tomato, served with cheddar wedges. Incredible. I did end up stealing a half of a piece of bread from my fiancé to soak up the eggy goodness and to pair with the cheese, but it certainly doesn’t need the carbs(hence the name of the dish). I’ve never thought to eat veggies with my poached eggs, but this is definitely something I plan on trying at home. My fiancé went with the banana split parfait, which is not at all as indulgent as it sounds, but delicious all the same. It’s probably the most ingenious way to serve a parfait that I’ve ever seen. It’s a whole banana, split down the center and and filled with yogurt, granola, and fresh fruit(see my photo for a visual). Totally beautiful presentation, and the boy certainly seemed to love the taste, too. After our breakfast, I was raving about this place to all of our friends who were in town for the wedding, and I think I made them jealous. If I lived in Lancaster, I’d be a regular.

This place is a hidden gem in the city of Lancaster! Apple chicken sausage, morning potatoes and pancakes started my day off right. The atmosphere is great, modern and clean. Find time and come enjoy yourself.

Stopped for lunch en route to Philadelphia. Pleasant, immaculate cozy atmosphere. We ordered the hummus plate which was beautifully presented with fresh veggies and toasted pitas. Our sandwiches were large, delicious and all fresh. Wish I could have tried the grilled cheese sandwich too but we were full. Chef Jen and Beth are amazing owners. Will definitely be back for brunch and dinner. Don’t hesitate-you’ll love forknspoon!

I don’t understand why they have an open kitchen if the chef hates people so much. Mediocre food. Terrible service… and we were literally the only customers when we were there.

Enjoyed a terrific birthday brunch with wifey and Dad at this winner of a spot. Starring organic ingredients, Forknspoon offers some choice selections that will surprisingly stick to the ribs. Hearty hash with tasty corned beef was a crowd pleaser as we dove in and never looked back. The Turkey BLT got a thumbs-up from Dad and my Belt had so much good stuff going on: perfectly cooked organic egg, crisp quality thick bacon, fresh lettuce. Wifey was delighted by The Toad with has an egg in the middle of the bread, definitely fun eats. Some expert Macchiatos rounded off a great dining experience in the heart of happening downtown Lancaster.

Enjoyed breakfast for two on a Friday. The dinning room has seating for 18, and we took the last two seats. Restaurant was CLEAN! Server was a little slow to greet us, but she was the only one working. Menu options were fresh, organic, and as health minded as breakfast can be. Menu was not overly original, as it included the usual suspects such as eggs, toast, sandwiches, waffles, and pancakes… with various platters containing combinations of these. We ordered the honey glazed grapefruit, BELT sandwich, homefries, and chicken sausage. Each were fresh and delicious. Chicken sausage was plump and juicy. Bacon and egg were cooked perfectly. Homefries were well seasoned. Dinning area is tight, with guests only a few inches from one another. Volume of speash with my table mate was elevated to compensate for added ambient conversations. Overall, its a typical breakfast place.

The restaurant is tiny, but everything is functional and in it’s place. I appreciate a home cooked meal and ForknSpoon did not disappoint. You’re guaranteed a good cup of cappuccino and perfectly cooked meals here. We enjoyed a beautiful breakfast and hung out on this lazy Tuesday morning before heading out to the airport. The prices are reasonable, the service is friendly and the breakfast meal was delicious. My only regret is, the brunch pictures posted looks even more mouthwateringly awesome, so I’ll make sure to stop by the next time I visit.

Awesome brunch spot. Friendly staff, very meticulous presentation of food, fresh ingredients. We sat outside and weather was great with fall colors. Mediterranean BLT and Breakfast waffle were fantastic. Not a greasy diner spot, this is a local, creative, flavorful gem where the culinary concoctions are worth coming back for.

Stopped in for lunch yesterday and the tiny restaurant was buzzing. Friendly staff, fresh food and very reasonable pricing make this place a winner. I had the chili which was awesome.

First time I went here I wanted to order take out, and the cook looked at me like I had 2 heads. I explained that I love a few doors down and just wanted to sit at home with my dog and wife but she said that all she can offer me is a breakfast sandwich. I waited a year, and my wife convinced me to go back so I gave it another shot. I liked the food both times we have gone but the service is just okay. I feel like for having a few servers and only a few outside tables they should be able to handle taking care of patrons. Thats about as negative as I get with Unilocal reviews. I wouldn’t give them less than 4 stars because I feel like my opinion shouldn’t hold a lot of weight. I’ll be back.

What a craptastic experience. Our service was terrible, and the food was far from good enough to make up for it. My wife and I came here at 10:30 on a Saturday morning and waited way too long to be seated at empty tables. My wife ordered coffee and«The Traditional.» I ordered water and a monte cristo. We sat. For 45 minutes. The server brought my wife her coffee, and tried to give me coffee I didn’t order. The coffee was watery. She didn’t bring either of the waters we asked for. Then 20 minutes later she brought us both the wrong food. She came back and apologized and said our food would be right out, and that someone switched the tables, which was thinly-veiled code for«I screwed up your order.» We waited another 25 minutes for our correct food, which was average at best. My wife’s eggs and toast were fine, as they should be. Her potatoes were bland and her chicken/apple sausage was cold and also bland. My monte cristo was pretty lame. On the menu it says it includes«special sauce» of some type. I was suspicious of it, and for good reason. It was just MUSTARD. WHOPUTSMUSTARDON A MONTECRISTO? Nasty. I ate the whole thing because I was starving, and that’s the only reason. Oh, and my wife asked for ketchup, twice, before the server remembered it. To top it all off, my wife stabbed her thumb on a metal shard that was sticking out of her knife handle. Maybe this was an isolated incident, since this place has pretty good reviews.(Why we went here in the first place…) We won’t be back to find out. Bottom line: Mediocre food made worse by hipster-quality service. Ugh.

I’m not raving over this place like some others, but I was happy with it and would love to venture back for lunch if I ever get the chance. We came by for Sunday brunch. Rave reviews on Unilocal and driving by every week finally grabbed me in. We sat outside, which was nice and they did a good job or keeping it clean. Service was great, except I was never offered a refill(it seems people in Lancaster want me to be thirsty this summer.) The brunch menu is really just a breakfast menu. No lunch. And unfortunately for us, the pecan bacon eliminated half the menu for my husband easily. It’s not their fault by any means, and I don’t judge based on this, it just mostly sucked because the bacon was so damn good. I kind of would go back alone just to eat giant plates of the bacon. The breakfast waffle is a great idea. The waffle was a little less cheddary than I expected(I couldn’t taste the cheese at all) but the extra cheese on top made up for it. The fried egg was a little undercooked for me as well. Overall though, a thoughtful and yummy dish that I would order again. Really, really filling. My husband’s toad in the hole was perfectly cooked for one piece and vastly undercooked for the other. The egg whites in one were still running terribly. The chicken and apple sausage wasn’t bad — just really weird and full of cinnamon and apple, so it almost tasted like apple pie and chicken mixed together which just messed with my taste buds. I wasn’t a fan. I really love the décor and feel, and the staff was super friendly to us.

People, it’s all about The Breakfast Waffle: An herb and cheddar waffle topped with black forest ham, sharp cheddar, two fried eggs & Parmesan cheese. AND their ridiculous pecan/maple/whatever bacon crumbles, which really put it over the top. Throw in an excellent tea selection, the nicest staff ever(the owner/chef is from Queens), and the fact that the prices are so crazily affordable… this is basically the perfect brunch. Except for the fact that they don’t serve booze… but it’s Amish country, what can you do?

Aptly located on Lancaster’s «Gallery Row», this wonderful eatery presents a menu with an artistic flair. Chef Jenn pays close attention to detail whether creating a sandwich on delicious rustic bread, or an entrée from the BYOB Friday night dinners. Food is always fresh and manager Beth, Jenn, and their wonderful servers will make you feel welcome. Will continue to enjoy breakfasts, lunches, and dinners here with family and friends…

Visiting Lancaster, this neat café downtown was recommended by a friend. It’s small — there’s only a couple of small tables up front by the street windows, but in the back there’s a room with enough tables to seat about 20. If you do have more than a few people(we had 7), they like it if you call ahead, but we were seated anyway without fuss. The food was excellent. I had the half-and-half with half a Greek salad and half a Turkey & Havarti sandwich, which arrived on a crisp baguette along with Kosher pickle slices and gourmet potato chips. Everything was delicious. If you order a coffee with cream, it comes with a little glass of REAL cream — something I’ve not seen in ages. If you order a Coke, it comes chilled in a 16 oz. glass bottle and a glass to pour it into. Awesome! The service was excellent. Our large party was served quickly, and the waitress was attentive, polite and just generally wonderful. I will absolutely go back!
