Simply the best ice cream in Lancaster. Love the service and flavors. 10⁄10 I get ice cream every time I walk by

The one negative review for this ice cream truck makes me think there is a vendetta from P.K. Do yourself a favor and don’t allow that review to sway you away. Find this truck and enjoy wonderfully crafted local ice cream.

Few things make me as happy as anticipating a visit to Penny’s. I just adore them and the cute pop-up park that it’s housed in during summer 2015 of Lanc before construction on the new hotel begins(we will miss this park dearly, please open another one close by!) My heart swells when I come upon the park and think about what flavors might be offered for the day. So far the black raspberry oreo and lemon strawberry are favorites, the latter being one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had in my life. They’re all good!

An ice cream truck that sells locally made ice cream, kudos. I’m deducting one star because I asked if the sorbet was non-dairy and the answer was«I think so.» Thus, I didn’t attempt it and find out the hard way if it was or not. I brought one of my sons here on a very hot day. Still open at nearly 8p on a Sunday night, score! However, one of the reviews from PK H. stated«you shouldn’t have to pay a month’s paycheck for a simple ice cream cone.» I was expecting a very expensive cone. I think it was $ 3 and change. Perhaps if that is what that reviewer makes in a month, it may be time to seek better employment. I’ll pay three bucks and change for something that is made locally — the money stays here and then is spent here. That’s a good cycle. Other than it melting all down my son’s arm(he has bad ice cream etiquette), he was pleased.

The idea of an ice cream truck in the middle of a pop-up park is quite appealing, however as much as I like Carmen and David, I was disappointed from the day they first opened their shop years ago. They overpriced themselves from day one. Ice cream was OK but you shouldn’t have to pay a month’s paycheck for a simple ice cream cone. So now you’re in a truck down the street. I like to see people succeed, I’m happy you didn’t close all the way down, but you really should take into consideration that everyone is not made of money. Your prices are exorbitant! $$$$$! $ …unethical. Sorry Carmen, sorry David, but truly you owe us an apology. We were there the first day you opened your shop… paying your extremely high prices for a regular ice cream cone. We made you rich. You took advantage. And the quality of your ice cream has not improved … it sort of feels like you lost your soul when you opened up your shop. I had great hopes you might find it again in your new wagon. I’m disappointed. I’m not the only one. It feels unethical to become wealthy on the backs of your friends. Interesting name change… Penny’s…for such an expensive item.

I was devastated when Carmon and David’s closed, this made my summer. This is the best of both worlds, ice cream truck and Carmon and David’s I’ve cream. As they are establishing a their following, the ice cream flavors are increasing. I’m eagerly awaiting their sorbet, but they are starting that soon according to the staff. The best ice cream I’ve had, with efficient, friendly service. This place is fanatic.

Friendly service with a smile. And they serve Carmen and David’s ice cream. You shouldn’t need to know any more than that. I certainly recommend this truck to anyone who enjoys high quality ice cream.

Penny’s is a newly opened ice cream truck servicing downtown Lancaster. While ice cream trucks are not a new site around town, what makes Penny’s stand out is their location and product. Located in the Prince St. pop-up park, Penny’s delights customers by selling Carmen & David ice cream. We were excited to find out it would feature Carmen & David’s ice cream and even more excited to find out they rotate some of the flavors. Overall a great, local experience.
